Nice, thank you! I need this for casual inspections of electronics, and from what I'm seeing, this solution would do pretty well, while allowing me to inspect "dark corners" of a computer build. The only drawback, is that the model you show at around 40$, is 720p. Personally, I'd need FHD (1080p), to better recognize corrosion on welded contacts, broken circuits, capacitor leaks etc.: using this casually or as a hobby doesn't mean that I'd settle for sub-par results and thus a less comfortable job (or a crappy analysis hence a crappy job in the end). I'll look up to see if there are FHD models, thanks again!
Absolutely genius 😎. I’m just getting into wanting to disassemble watches as a hobby. I wanted to find some thing low cost to start before I dove into a £1K device and I think you’ve shown me it. 🙏
I am also wanting to start messing around with watches, and have invested in some tools and an old movement to disassemble and reassembled. I have been looking at something similar and wondered why nobody has done this, so thanks for this. I was also wondering why you can't just use your phones camera and veiw it on a laptop. This allows plenty of working room beneath the camera. I have a fairly modern Samsung and the camera is fantastic. It would just require a tripod for the phone.
Hmm, you’ve not had any issues with the distance? Seems awfully close and a “proper” microscope would be working at about 8”. But that is such an affordable price!!
Watches is a very cool hobby. I love Casio and Seiko
now that's a handy tool! Thanks Brian!!
You bet!

The level of magnification isn’t even close, when you need to see detail the size of a hair.
@@COGuyStuff OK, thanks for letting me know.
Hoping these watch videos continue
They are! The next one is a project...it'll take me a while longer to finish!
the 1" focal distance is a little concerning, but other than that, it looks pretty cool. Thanks for sharing!
Great idea!
Great heads up. 😎
Nice!
None available now. Jeeeeez. Great idea
Genius! Adding to my Amazon list now

Oh it definitely doesn’t replace a real microscope, but it’s almost free in comparison.
