My opinion is torn. I would like to see more policy by the WNBA to allow players to be mothers if that is possible. I just don't know if that is realistic. To be a good parent you need to be their with your child and bond. No other person can give that kind of love and attention your child needs. So at the end of the day I think the right choice is to pick one either parent or career. It depends on the dynamics of the career of course. It just don't think in many cases trying to do both at the same times is wise.
They need to make a smoother policy. Now you don't tell women when to have a baby, plus you don't have a 100% full proof way of avoiding pregnancy even with precautions, so it is best to take that off the table. It opens a way to revisit the policy, especially in terms of pay which should be based on how you carry a baby to term, like 1/3rd for the first three months, 2/3 for the next two trimesters, and full payment through the maternity leave without the team taking a cap hit...you should be able to replace the player while they are out a full year recovering from having a baby.
It's tough but based on the stance they have taken on issues they have to bend all the way I just wonder is it stated how many times consecutively can you do it like if Aja decided she wanted 5 kids and had them all back to back I wonder is there a line
