Thank you for making such a great video your channel has helped me prepare for numerous MS exams and accomplish tasks that Technet or Microsoft Docs really fails to explain or deliver upon
Note that you put option 66 & 67 in "scope options". However, you could also put it in "Server Options". Server options will apply it to all the scopes if you have more than one, but scope options override server options if you want to define something different on a specific scope. That messed me up one time when I moved my MDT/WDS to a new server once and I changed the Server Options but forgot that I had added it to scope options, and so it wasn't booting to my new server and I couldn't figure out why. It was because the scope options override the server options and the scope options was still pointing at my old server. Also, I like to go into the WDS server properties by right clicking the WDS server in the WDS snap-in and choosing properties and go to the BOOT tab and select "Always continue the PXE boot" for both known and unknown clients ... This eliminates one of the F12 clicks you have to do.
I did that but for some reason when I boot the test machine to the server it just loads CMD. Do you have a video on this? Also I have been reading around that once you set PXE in SCCM DP that is all that you have to do no DHCP modification required. Correct or wrong?
Hi mate, great video but how would you configure the scope/WDS if the DHCP service and WDS are on the same server but on different subnets (two NICs) on one server?
HI BTNHD how are i hope you are well when i am follow your instruction on the virtual box the client contact the DHCP server but fail to boot and message from windows boot manager status 0xc0000001 a required device is not connected or can not be accessed thanks alot for help
Hi, I did exactly the same as your video for the DHCP & WDS part but when I power up my hyper-v VM, I got this error:- Virtual Machine Boot Summary 1. Network Adapter (00155D1EDD07) The PE/COFF image is invalid. 2. SCSI Disk (0,0) No UEFI-compatible file system was found. No operating system was loaded. Press a key to retry the boot sequence... Note: Configuration changes may require the virtual machine to be reset. Any idea what wrong and how to fix it in order to work? TQVM.
after the installation, on the clients, it shows defaultuser0. can anyone tell me what the password is? and how to setup a customized password from WDS? I setup my WDS in standalone mode.
Need help PXE booting Dell Precision 5510/5520. This laptop does not have an integrated NIC. It utilizes the USB-C to Ethernet dongle and I have worked with Dell on this and not even they can figure it out. The dongle has the MAC Address built into the dongle and Dell walked me through the proper BIOS settings via phone and currently, the laptop being in UEFI with no Legacy boot options available (according to them they need to be all shut off) I have UEFI options USB NIC(IPv4) and USB NIC(IPv6). Select IPv4, checks media presence, media present, failed to load f1 to retry boot, f2 to reboot into setup....Need help on this if anyone knows the fix/answer. Thank you.
hi, Great video .I tried to create MDT in my house, and I have some problem ...I am trying to create MDT on a server 2016 that is'n connected to the network .The windows deployment services is'n starting run .I get an error 0xC1040103, and when I trying to started from services I get a message that I can not run the service in a single machine, bet I've seen the MDT work that way ???Does anyone have a way to solve this problem
Hi BTNHD I'm solving the problem. If you create a local MDT server, the is must be connected to the switch that the server 'thinks' there is get a network...
The better option would be to use IPHelper rather than DHCP options. In fact using DHCP options 66/67 is no longer recommended. technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732351(WS.10).aspx
Thank you man! Been struggling to get my head round MDT & WDS for a while, but your tutorial made it so easy!

066 which is your Boot Server Host Name should be pointing to your SCCM FQDN or IP address.
I did that but for some reason when I boot the test machine to the server it just loads CMD. Do you have a video on this? Also I have been reading around that once you set PXE in SCCM DP that is all that you have to do no DHCP modification required. Correct or wrong?

remove all services > reboot the server > install again and try again. Also make sure your server is fully patched up with Windows updates.
