I am recalling an old memory after a long time. Her voice is so mesmerizing; it soothes my mind, helps me relax, and gives me a restful sleep. At 75 years old, this feeling is truly comforting.
She has improved her expressions and also body language ! She can remake her own old songs! She has reached highly seasoned matured level of competence ; SNITI is a great anti depression inspiring blossoming flower in spring cooling soothing the mentally tired worn out disappointed people. I have always enjoyed the way she handles a song with correct pronunciation and pitch and a strong melodious back bone of a music line that holds the song together !! More than 50 years are gone, I was a poor starving student in Karachi University, the ones who were affluent would be either singing or playing Talat and no one else. Rafi and Lata were played in crowded tea shops. Today's generation may not understand our infatuation with these gods and goddesses who are the only immortals in Bombay (I refuse to accept the new parody). Here a Daasi is paying a tribute to a god of a bygone era. Simply mesmerizing, BEAUTIFUL.
At that time I was also a student living in South Africa. We did not have music player but we had a movie theater (Rani Theater) where we saw Bollywood and Hollywood movies. Now I live in California and still enjoy these classic oldies on RUclips and CDs. So glad that younger singers like Sniti Mishra sing these songs so beautifully with so much feeling.

I have been fascinated by Talat Mehmood Saheb's songs since I was 9 years old. I remember singing particularly this song at a lower chord than most girls do just to be able to do justice to this song. Sniti has definitely revived the era of these beautiful gems.
