The problem is that regeneration is only a small part of the problem. In fact, it's actually the easier part of dpf diagnosis and repair lots of other issues which prevent regen
Hi, I wanted to check my dpf etc after a DPF differential pressure low DTC on my 2.2 Evoque. Your video's were really great help, so started to look for a scan tool that will do live pressure sensor data, lowest cost I could find was around £600, then within minutes by divine intervention your topscan review was posted. Perfect just what I wanted. Bought on Amazon received yesterday (Thursday). The live scan data showed the sensor to be performing exactly like in your video's. As a side note I installed the software on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A7, and it was much easier to use than on the Iphone. Seemed more responsive to the touch screen, graphs clearer etc. Many Many thanks.
Had one of these since beginning of the year as part of their test program and got to say its been inpressive for what it is and who its aimed at. Very capable and has even saved the day once or twice when other tools have failed to carry out resets etc.
Hi Jim, that 65532 value is to do with the analogue to digital conversion and how it's interpreted. In binary, a 16-bit number ranges from 0 to 65535. The computer here is allocating a 16-bit value to the pressure reading and is rolling round to 65535 when the value is below zero because it can't show negative numbers as it's an unsigned 16-bit value. A signed value would have the range of -32768 to +32768. This is assuming that the diagnostic software is not mistaking a signed value for an unsigned value, if so then the 65532 value would be -4 which would make more sense for a pressure sensor slightly out of calibration than rolling round to 65535 and counting down from there. Maybe the data from the vehicle is not being interpreted correctly or there's a bug in the software that's been overlooked.
i think yearly subscription is mandatory first year is free though. Most things like this have yearly subscriptions to keep up with the latest car models you know. @@educationaltvshows9950
Jimmy, I love Topdon products myself. I've noticed on the Amazon listing that they only provide free updates for one year which might be a problem for DIY-ers such as myself. It is still a good product though.
Great vids, thanks! Anyone else had an "Activation done, a problem occurred during the operation" before the forced DPF regen has even started? Over 80 degrees coolant, bonnet open etc as system suggested. Tried nearly a dozen times....
Regarding Graph Live Data View - After you pressed the cog button (settings) in the list and pressed the graph button, you should have returned back to the Data stream (back arrow, top left screen) and then the graph is visible in the list.
Great stuff Jimmy. The only problem i have with these kind of scantools is yearly updates as we only have 12 cars in my village in north mayo, it might only get used 3 or 4 times max a year if that. Still great video as usual 👌. Jimmy fixed it again💪 👍 👏 👌 💯
For the price of a scanner this is a much cheaper option 50 dollars a year gives you access to all models A comparable scanner is about 800 dollars and then subscription fees on top of that I have the artdiag 800 BT and it’s a good mid level scanner but it doesn’t have bi directional capabilities I payed 375 for it but it does have lifetime free updates.
I've tried a couple of these and I'm always dissatisfied with the speed of the diagnostic. How does this compare to the speed of a professional handheld?
Hi Jim as you know i'm retired now but can't keep my finnger off cars/vans i puicked up a icar soft CR Max from Diagnostic world uk great piece of kit for £359 it even can do landrovers fords porsche and others even codes injectors i do miss my old Launch X431 though
Hi Jim ,that seems to be lite version ,there is a pro with more reset functions ,,13 instead of 8 ,, around 100 a year sub , whereas the lite is around 50 quid . I have top-don 800bt , the oil reset doesn't do but tells u how to manually reset ,, also TPMS does work on any cars ive seen ,, hopefully will be dealt with updates .
I've been testing the topdon topscan since January of this year has part of there testlight program it's a very handy scanner that is ideal to keep in your car and it can do alot I'm very happy with it
Good reader, I use Autel Maxi AP200, it is very similar, but Autel gives away one manufacturer forever and the rest with subscription, would you say this is better?
Hi Ian looking to buying a tool to reset or delete adblue low level code on Peugeot 308 2016 watch some videos of yours Thinking about topdon or launch x431 Euro pad 2. New or secondhand do you get free up dates with new or maybe has some if 2nd hand. Using one I bought from Lidl’s for £10 doesn’t cut it on new car technology for rewriting ecu Thanks
Topdon will tell you the dpf tank level and show if pump is working also replace dpf tank & reset codes You should be able to hear the pump clicking when it’s priming.
@@zubairsjce Peugeot tells you when dfp tank is low on the radio screen also does the 1500 mile countdown. Sometimes it also shows up as adblue level low there both connected.
When i do an active test on my drl lights with the topdon, i can turn them on but they dont come on with the car. Is there a way to change the status to on for the drl permanently?

Got one with same day with 15% off, will get to try it out this weekend on a few cars i have at home, seems like it will cover the basics of what i need; thanks. ps any idea what the usb-c port is for ?
Found out what the usb-c port is for, you can power the device via it if needs be; allowed me to update the firmware on the device without being connected to car. btw there are two versions of this from what i can tell, the lite version and the pro; the pro seems to cover a few more systems and includes the immo software which from what i can see lets you code keys to certain cars. You have to purchase the upgrade for the lite if you want the option but good luck actually finding how, support isn't as slick that it needs to be.
What you doing with the tool now . Giveaway ;) could use a backup up after my autel messed me around today and cost me money for rearranging customers.
Topshit !!! Bought this of Amazon after waiting your video mate and is crap. Will not connect to Saab 9-3 2010 when other cheaper scanner will, try couple of other cars today and most functions are not supported! Don’t even bother people.
