People always used to say this song was about a relationship, but I think it's actually about depression. So many lines always stick out to me when I'm going through a hard time. To me it's clear this song was directed at either himself or someone going through a hard time and asking them to try instead of giving up on life. Just my thoughts.
I like that interpretation, to me it just seems like a few lyrics really lean towards a break up especially at the end when it goes "I don't wanna stop you, I just wanna know." Seems like it's solidifying what is spoken during the rest of the song

This reminds me of my highschool days. When I first smoked pot, my first punk and emo shows, when girls started to be interested in me, got into my first fight and won and my reputation went way up and no one messed with me after that but my biggest focus was girls girls girls lol the good ole days my goal back then was to date as many girls at once without them finding out and that was easier back then because all we had was myspace and only certain people used it back then lol I matured alot once I hit college and met my college sweetheart and only focused on her and ended up having kids young and she passed and I been raising my kids on my own ever since and all my focus is on my kids and I haven't been with anyone since their mom really I tried to get back in the dating game recently but it's hard on me because I know my soulmate is already gone... Life can take a huge turn even when your so happy you think nothing can stop you but just keep sprinting and never stop... I'm tearing up as I type this... Life is so short so please just enjoy it with people that make you feel like you are the only one in their life.... 😢

I have bought this CD 3 times over the years its been blessing our lives. I cannot agree more with you. Top 3 favorite album. Its so damn good and is still getting better.
This album and Louder Now are still the best TBS albums in my opinion. The lineup at that time was perfect and can't be replaced. I never grow old of this album. It ages like a fine wine and reminds me of a certain time in my youth.

After grunge there was a drought and tbs silvertstein and hawthorne heights quenched my thirst. Normally they would be considered a stop gap but they were so much better than that. I really wondered where music was going. braid, mock orange and so on carried the torch but taking back sunday was the good popular alt rock of the early 2000's.

I always think of what these records wouldve been like with Nolan, where he belonged the whole time. I'm biased in a way because I'm from LI and saw them often when they were just a 'local' band, but I feel like the way his and Adam's lyrics, vocals and personas bounce off each other yin/yang was irreplaceable
To be honest Nolan And Fred are God's compared to whoever joined after Fred left. This band went downhill
