Idc if you wear it or not but don't conplain when you get in trouble for having several violations on your boat. The warden already gave him several breaks.

@@beads2011 firstly they signed up to do a job don’t act sorry for that secondly there’s correlation with knowing how to swim, and wearing a life jacket no dumbass that can’t swim isn’t gonna wear a life jacket jon knows how to swim he’s a grown adult man’s not out at sea gonna get taken by waves add on the fact there’s 2 passengers that could help if that water has any current y’all jump to conclusion that no life jacket = death it doesn’t ride your bike no helmet your not gonna die likely less than .01% rides end in death from head injury just like anyone knowing how to swim doesn’t die from not wearing a life preserver unless a rare occurrence surrounding other problems

It's really simple to read the rules, why I have cheap orange life vest on boat, and card stays with boat keys. Never had a issue

There's a few rules and laws that I agree with, one being the use of cell phones while driving. I seen idiots actually trying to watch movies and shit while driving 80 down the interstate. 😂

I'm pretty sure you only have to be wearing a PFD if you're operating the boat via the main engine. That's why these pro anglers don't get dozens of tickets when they fish it Big T.

Yup. I honestly would go to court just to fight it. I think there’s doing there job but sometimes they overreact on something so little. It’s not like there blasting they where stationary.
Some of the life jackets were inflatable, and you have to be wearing them to count. If they had enough regular life vests for everyone on the boat, they wouldn't have gotten a ticket for not wearing them.

Gotta love when they nab ya on the water. I was on a dock and got a $300 ticket bobber fishing with my kids by the Water Police. They scoped me out with gigantic binoculars from the middle of the lake. Great day on the water boys !!!!

I got in trouble the same way with the life jackets got the cheap ones that don’t so you don’t have to wear it constantly.
As for the registration I have mine in a googan money bag under my seat.
Texas game wardens suck, where are they when people are taking undersized fish with a cast net with no license or making wake at a boat ramp?
You get them dismiss no need to hire a attorney. Show up to court with proof of the Vessel certificate number “legible” with the right font and of course the registration “non expired” for more than 60 days. You can always speak with the DA regarding your options but no need to pay the huge fine.
I was there both days ! White Triton. I was one of those boats that bailed during the rain . Mainly because my wife wasn’t willing to hang lol . Thought it was you but didn’t want to bug you. That lake is something special. Hopefully see you again out there!

We were jetty fishing from the bank last month and a couple got multiple tickets for taking undersized crab and another hefty fine for a 14.5” flounder. I never get tickets because I am a stickler for the rules! Mostly because I got so many tickets (mostly vehicle moving violations) when I was your age.
Helpful hint: You can request community service in lieu of paying the fine. It is honest work and helps condition you to not make the same mistake again. I have filled potholes, shovel literal crap at the waste treatment plant, and much more. I don’t even speed anymore.

If the boat is registered, I don't feel like giving a ticket for not having the paper is fair. You can register online where I live and the slip doesn't come in for a week or so...I'm always on the water before that stupid paper comes in. Raising money for the state like usual...aren't we taxed enough already, good lord.
In Texas when you register the boat on you get a registration card and it has bold letters that state it is to be on the boat. If registered in line, you can print off the temporary registration while waiting on the official one to come in. Comes down to reading and following what the instructions say.

For inflatable life jackets to count they have to be worn, they’re pretty much useless if they aren’t on you
Never heard of that and definitely never been stopped on any lake in TX for it, always only worn them while the motor was moving us

In Wisconsin you have to have one flotation device for each person somewhere on the boat and a fire extinguisher if your boat is longer than 14'6" I think it is.
My friend was fishing for thirty years and got a ticket for no fire extinguisher which is why I know that rule because he tells everyone about it.

For INFLATABLE-TYPE ones ... you DO have ti be wearing them AT ALL TIMES, on the water (in TX). They DIDN'T have any NON-INFLATABLE ones on the boat, whatsoever. THAT was the issue.
