Nintendo has been doing cross gen since the GameCube and twilight princess, possibly before but idk. Hell, twilight princess even made it to the wiiu, 3 generations. Oh yeah, I just remembered, OoT/MM was also released on GameCube as a preorder/collectors bonus for windwaker if I remember right. The point is, Nintendo is no stranger to releasing their game on the current and upcoming system.
Its possible. What we saw was straight up switch gameplay. If its a launch title, ill definitely pick up the new system. And id be happy if its the last prime game and they move on
I think the Beyond title is a hint that the game will be fairly different. It will be beyond the Prime games. I’m thinking in gameplay more than anything.
3:13 ...not so much a different version but an improved version.. it won't be that much different than the Switch version outside of improved resolution and some added texture details and lighting, etc... for example, I think the game is targeting 900p 60ps on Switch... that resolution bump for the Switch 2 version of Prime 4 could hit 1440p in docked mode, i don't know so much about 4K... we don't know until the Switch 2 is revealed but all in all... the game will look and essentially play better on Switch 2 thats it
I would be surprised if Nintendo didn't launch MP4 simultaneously for both current gen Switch and the next gen console. N64 lifespan 6 years (1996-2002), GC lifespan 6 years (2001-2007), Wii lifespan 7 years (2006-2013), Wii U lifespan 5 years (2012-2017). So far the Nintendo Switch has outlasted any previous model as we are currently in the 7th year, but expecting the new model to come in 2025, for a lifespan of at least 8 years. MP4 is a perfect transition game to close the Nintendo Switch lifecycle and open the next gen console one. I'm wondering when we will see F-Zero again, F-Zero for Gamecube was an exceptional game.
You forgot the Famicom lasting from 1983 to the Super Famicom's launch in 1990. But if we were going by how long it was supported, it would go well past that.
It's almost clear after it was announced for 2025 that Metroid Prime 4 is a cross gen just like BotW, the only difference imo is that Prime 4 will get a beefed up Switch 2 version. WiiU & Switch are very similar in overall power but Switch 2 according to the basic knowledge we have is much better.
I feel as if this is a guarantee that the successor to the Switch will be backwards compatible, since they are not letting up with releasing quality titles for the Nintendo Switch similar to how the DS went strong into the early years of the 3DS release. Nearly every console from Nintendo in the 21st century has had some form of backwards compatibility with the exception of the Nintendo Switch. Metroid Prime 4 will not be developed for the new system but certainly playable via backwards compatibility, that is my prediction and my preference.
I feel like in a few years we will all look back and find it so weird that we all reffered to the next console as "the switch 2". Not just you, I mean everybody calls it that but still
METROID PRIME 4 WILL BE THE MARCH 2025 GAME. THE SUCCESSOR UPGRADE WILL BE FALL 2025. WE ARE LOOKING FOR SUCCESSOR REVEAL IN THE JAN TO MARCH 2025 WINDOW. ITS LAUNCH WILL BE IN THE JUNE TO SEPT WINDOW. THE TELL IS WHEN PRIME 2 AND 3 BOTH DROP TO ESHOP IN 2024 BFORE NOV. IF PRIME 2 AND 3 DONT HIT ESHOP BEFORE HOLIDAY 2024 THEN YOU WILL BE CORRECT ABOUT A BACK HALF 2025 PRIME 4
Um no offense but I don't think that beyond is the launch title, it's not big enough to justify that especially in Japan and beyond is definitely not going to change that
LOL, not even close. It is most likely a Switch game. Maybe cross-gen, but that makes no sense. Only Zelda franchise can afford to be cross-gen, because it is a system seller like Mario and Mario Kart.
Groose will be a crossover character rizzing up Samus
Also the music that was playing when it said “2025” kind of reminded me of Breath of the wild’s intro music

It started with mario 1, 2 and 3 from the nes all being released as all stars on snes, and later on on the gba.
@@Markde9876 oh yeah I forgot about all star
Metroid prime hunters brought a lot of characters to expand upon

We'll they should probably release HD Remasters of Metroid Prime 2 Echoes and Corruption for the Switch to help build up hype.
This game is gonna be amazing. I just know it.

If it lives up to the hype I hope its sells just as much as Breath of The Wild.
There's not even a remote chance that Prime 4 will be the BIG launch title for Switch 2
@user-py8oj5yv4m That might be the case
No Paper Mario music 😢

They announced on Twitter that the new switch will be revealed by the end of the year
@@OhMyCymba yes that is March 2025. Their fiscal year not the callander year😄 revealing it in 2024 would ruin their holiday sales
Hold up, YOU GOT A POINT

I certainly fucking hope it ain't

Well there's a first time for everything, perhaps Nintendo might want to give Metroid a chance to prove it can a big seller.
