- 56098 is back in the hands of GBRf after being on loan to DC Rail for moving HS2 spoil around the country. It seems her first task is to come shunt wagons here in my hometown of Wellingborough. GBRf Wellingborough at Neilson's Sidings. GB Railfreight have been bringing stone chippings here from Peak Forest quarries. I capture the action as the locomotive arrives at Wellingborough from Leicester and sent up the drone from a safe distance to see what most can't.
A train driver who is based at Wellingborough yard sent me some awesome pictures to add into the video too. Thank you Karl B for the photos and thank you Andy R for the tip off.
Head Code.

You’ve shown me lots of glorious locomotives in glorious locations. It’s great to have someone who is getting good enough video to share with us.
Your welcome bud. I try to keep the camera steady
Loved the drone footage, particularly the modern views over the old Wellingborough ironworks area.
You can just make out the old wagon repairs workshop towards Bush bridge too. Glad you liked the views Neale
Top tip off Purple, talk about being in the right place at the right time. 😉👌. Keep the brilliant videos coming mate I look forward to them. 👍.
Cheers Steve. It helps when you know a few folk around town. Take care Steve
Tommy loves this
Good lad
Cheers Purple, theirs been a few changes around there by the looks of it. Can still remember the Brick Arched Finedon road Bridge with the Semaphore Signal Gantry stood next to it. All the best for now.
I have picture of that bridge, gantry and the signal box. I shall explain next time I film there
A batch of wonderful drone shots!! Well done!! I couldn’t have done that!!
Many thanks! I had to ask one of the local business to send the drone up. Lucky im known around here
Great Catch , Purple. That little drone is wicked, you get some great shots with it…. I think some of these rail companies should take u on board for there promotional imagery . Keep it coming 👍
That would be lovely. As long as they pay for the big license that lets me use my drone for business.
Great shots
Cheers fella 😊
Awesome shots purple. Nice to think that this loco was at the Northampton and Lamport railway a few years ago.
Really, I didn't know that 😲
It was at the NLR for a couple of years and even featured in their diesel gala along with the 27, 45 and the 47, which they still have. Can’t remember exact dates but it would have been about 2008 ish.
