    Hey, all. Deciding on a coding bootcamp is a big thing - a huge investment in time and possibly money. This video will help you assess which bootcamp is right you and what questions to ask to find out!

    As a Northcoders graduate, my experience was just amazing!!. Throughout my time there, I not only gained valuable technical skills (which can be acquired anywhere as you said in the video ), but I also had the opportunity to work collaboratively with other programmers, face challenges, and engage in pair programming. Whenever I encountered obstacles, I had the guidance from mentors who helped me grasp difficult concepts and provided hints on how to approach and overcome problems.
    The most invaluable part of the bootcamp was the final two weeks, during which I worked with a small team to build an application. This hands-on project section allowed me to apply all the skills and knowledge I had acquired throughout the course, solidifying my understanding and boosting my confidence.
    Even after graduating three months ago, the support from the career team has been great. They have offered assistance with CV review, provided opportunities for mock interviews (although I haven't had one yet), and invited me to numerous events where I can network with other professionals in the industry.
    Very happy with that! Is an experience I would it again.

      Amazing, Vincenzo. I know I’ve had the pleasure of working with a few people coming out of NC and they are always very happy with their time and experience on the bootcamp.

    Hi, I am looking for a bootcamp in the UK/USA
    Do you have any suggestions, I am looking one especially for learning Lua
    Thank you

    • @ishaqhamin
      @ishaqhamin  3 месяца назад

      I don’t think you’ll find one specifically for Lua it’s a very particular programming language.
      You can check out the Roblox coding tutorials as they’re all free and you can start building games on the platform which is all written in Lua.

    • @Saydoon
      @Saydoon 3 месяца назад

      @@ishaqhamin Are here some that Include lua, but also maybe teach other languages such as python, or just a course made only for lua, I've tried to watch tutorials on youtube and udemy, but I feel like I will be able to understand it only when I am in person with a teacher or someone, I am open to learning other programming languages too, other than lua, just trying to find if there are any bootcamps that do that.

      @@ishaqhamin there are quite a few good ones but factors like price, duration, employment rate etc are so varied. It’s really hard to tell which camp is the best and whether it’ll actually get you hired along with working hard

    • @ishaqhamin
      @ishaqhamin  Год назад +1

      @@Abdulla_tech Honestly, I would not approach any with the idea that they will get you hired.
      You should approach them with the mindset that it will give you the tools you need and the foundation to continue your learning and find a job.
      I would always advise getting a free place over paid but also take into consideration which area of tech you want to go in.

    Definitely a great cideo and thanks for taking the time to make it. How do you think your video has held over the past 11 months as AI/ML learning has been increasing in popularity?
    Do you forsee the demand for entry jobs to decrease due to either ML or the increase in bootcamp supply?

    • @ishaqhamin
      @ishaqhamin  4 месяца назад +1

      That is a really good question, likely time to make a new video!
      Over the last 11 months, the market has dropped drastically. Not just for junior engineers but all across the board. I go over it in this video - ruclips.net/video/O9w6yL7iH64/видео.htmlsi=LefHhOZHgkg8EApH - The issue we have seen is government funding which turned bootcamps into money-making machines.
      AI and ML are not going to have the impact of people not hiring junior engineers, not for a while. As much as is touted about it, it cannot replace people, though, and execution.
      As someone who uses it regularly, I can say that with confidence.
      Longterm, we are living in a technological era, industry 4.0 the demand far outstrips the supply of engineers across all disciplines, Cyber, Software, Data, Mobile, AI, Embedded systems, etc etc.

    Thanks for the video, i really would like to have your opinion on my situation.
    Im a bms engineer, I've started studying computer science about 12 years ago, I have experience and knowledge of different languages (all at basic level).
    Every time that im trying to find a coding bootcamp I stop, most of them I've found them very basic and dated. That really scares me into starting one, I wouldn't want to waste 4 months for a program I already know isn't job ready.
    I don't know what to do!

      Hey, sorry for the late reply. I was having some time away.
      Honestly, it sounds like you are already a step ahead. Build some projects to showcase on your portfolio and start applying. I do not think you need to waste time nor money on a bootcamp!

      They are run by edX which is the biggest provider of bootcamp learning in the USA. I have met grads from there and some of the people from edX and it is a very good bootcamp.

      Thank you for the reply sir. I was skeptical at first on this UoB bootcamps but couldn't find one which is funded but with flexible time as I have little kids too. I found this bootcamps like what you suggest School.of code or northcoders and they have nice reviews but needs full-time and I couldn't afford to be in full-time😢 unfortunately. Is good to know that UoB is also a best choice. May I know about the career support in UoB like job guarantee in the end?

    • @ishaqhamin
      @ishaqhamin  Год назад

      @@sheilanicolcioiu676 No bootcamp can offer a job guarantee. They can help with getting interviews. A lot of getting a job comes down to your own work. Having a good CV, portfolio and working on your interview skills.

    Great video!
    Unfortunately i cannot afford these expensive bootcamps😢.
    I have 7 years of experience in tech field but i am a newbie in coding. I was exploring many cousres and i checked ITonlinelearning and ITcareers switch for there coding program as they are affordable , they have very positive reviews. Basically they offer a job guarantee program after you finish theire course. The job will be entry level junior programmer and they cover everything interview preparation, linkdin review and cv and make sure you get a job. For a person like me who cannot afford these expensive bootcamps and wants to secure a job after completing the bootcamp, can you suggest if ITonline and Itcareer switch would be appropriate for me? I am a bit confused about what do to.
    Can you please share your thoughts on this?

      I’m afraid I do not know much about their content or teaching.
      The best thing is likely to reach out to ex students who have had both good and bad experiences.
      I’m quite against companies who guarantee a job. It’s just not feasible in the current market and I highly doubt it can be done.
