- In celebration of the winter solstice, Richard and I road tripped to Vermont to visit old friends and enjoy nature. It was a fantastic and fun weekend. If you've never celebrated the winter solstice, give it a try. I have never felt more uplifted by winter in my life!
What's a better way to celebrate the winter solstice? Lots of hiking! Today we hiked Camel's Hump in Vermont. It's a very popular hike, even in winter. We saw lots of people, lots of dogs, and the parking lot was full by the time we were leaving. If you want to hike this mountain in any season, be sure to get there early!
The hike is a moderate level 4,000 footer in Vermont with incredible 360-degree views. In winter, you can see the summit for the beginning half of the hike, which would otherwise be blocked by the summer leaves on the trees.
There are a few ways up the mountain, we chose to take the shorter route due to the snow and ice, but you can also take the long trail which is slightly longer and has more views leading to the summit.
Thank you for watching!

I have never hiked in the winter. After watching your hike with all the beautiful views I am ready for a winter hike. ❄️ ⛄️
It has its own additional challenges but I really enjoy it because there are less people on the mountain. It’s also just sooo quiet.
This is a dream of mine! Loved this!
You should definitely do it! The hike was not too difficult. How far away do you live?
All hail the king and queen of Colebrook!! ❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Wow! Beautiful scenes.
Thank you!

I never been hiking before I bet it’s fun
It’s really a great time. So many people think hiking has to be this massive hard thing but it’s really just a walk in nature. I hope you give it a try sometime! Thank you for watching.
Wow. That is truly beautiful country. We have barely had any snow here in WV this year.
Thank you for watching! We've had a sporadic winter in terms of snow. Right off the bat we got 3 feet and now we've just gotten dustings for the past few months. WV is beautiful in it's own way, we've visited and loved it!
Beautiful😍 never saw anything like so in person... born n raised in FL
If you like the outdoors you should definitely come up north if you get the chance! I love it here :) Thank you for watching!
Can I ask what month did you shoot this video?
Ah, I cannot remember when we did this trip specifically. I believe it was around New Years.
