- The complete works of L. Anton TRINÉ... actually a funny pseudonym Tom Brier used for the rather goofy subject of writing music about a remodeled bathroom. All four pieces of the suite rarely are heard together, so here they are. The order is based on the page numbers Tom put on the sheet music for each piece, suggesting that this is the intended order in which they should be played.
1. The New Facility, March and Trot.
2. Gustavo Tango.
3. The Cleansing Cascade, Waltz.
4. Clawfoot, Intermezzo.
Recordings are of The Raspberry Jam Band, in which Tom played piano.
That's gotta be the most Tom thing I've ever read
He had quite the sense of humor! Still has, from what one can tell by his reactions to things.
@@Keeper1st Has he reagined any more of his mental faculties since the last update? How is he doing physically?
@ See concert video from 2023.
@@Keeper1st what one?
@@Randomperson-ie6bm The only one.
Thank you for still posting Tom Brier content ❤
I have both videos I haven't posted, and a lot of audio recordings such as from his Australia tour in 2015, some of which I've been permitted to post.
The most pristine brand of toilet humor out there. Tom is a class act. Same kind of humor my dad (also a Tom) has. Warms my heart, along with everything else Tom has done. Thanks as always, Keeper, for keeping gems like this alive.
Ron and Tom, a duo for life. You are wonderful people!
I miss him.
Such beautiful melodies in this secret suite and such a high-quality recording too. Thank you for sharing.
I feel a bit flushed after listening to this
Jesus man as if the puns in the music weren't bad enough 🤣
What a legend.
Has anyone started "Briarisms", ala Chuck Norrisisms? If not, may I start?
"Tom Briar doesn't have a neck underneath his beard, but a second thundering left hand."
So pleasant. This was such a treat. Thanks for sharing!
Heh, one of the AI-suggested automatic replies suggested by RUclips is, "The toilet solo is a favorite of mine."
@Keeper1st Haha! That's rich! personally, my favorite was the chorus of old pipes, lol.
Tom making an unbelievably catchy tune and everything about it from the title to the copyright being literal toilet humor is hysterical. LOVE to hear the Raspberry Jam Band forever and always
Thanks Ron. I’ve been a sub since 2009. Obviously we all wish these terrible things never happened. This channel has given me untold enjoyment over the years. I still go back to many videos over and over. Hope you are well
If Super Mario and his partners would wear all fancy formal suits, this would be the OST. 1st song for ending credits, 2nd song is for the map, 3rd song for water level, 4th song is auto-scroller platformer.
It so happens that this was the perfect length of time for my own bathroom experience upon first listen. Truly a work of art
Love the pun and thanks for everything! Your videos of Tom made me start playing piano again six years ago!
Thank you for sharing Tom Briar content still 🙏🙏
He has really left an impact.
Beautiful. I'm too ignorant about music to know why, but this sounds similiar to the music from Over the Garden Wall.
@OmniversalInsect The music in that is also in early-20th-century styles, though a tad later. You can find a video of Tom sightreading and improvising from a lead sheet of Patient Is the Night through a search, posted by Michael Chisholm / Ragtimer95.
What!? This is so cool. Tom is a legit composer...there must be more out there!!
Side note, your score looks quite nice and id pay for a hard copy!
And yeah, a 4 mvmt rag suite for a new toilet...i wouldve loved to known Tom. Top lad
yep, only about 250 more pieces, which includes several other suites... he was a very prolific composer
@ScoopOfButter perhaps we should create a Tom Briar cataloging nomenclature, a la BWV 🙂
@@mellowords Those are Tom’s own scores.
@@mellowords There’s actually no ragtime in this suite, though certainly each piece is in a contemporaneous style which you would hear at ragtime festivals.
@@Keeper1st yeah you're right. I just associate Tom & that era of composition with ragtime, but that's just one little piece of the musical landscape back then!
Good ol Tom. and keepers 1st. Thanks
This was wonderfully silly, thanks for the upload!!
Listening to this suite while taking a shower was a wonderful experience.
Also, I saw in some replies that an update on Tom’s health was in a concert from 2023, but I can’t seem to find that video. A link and timestamps for that video would be greatly appreciated!
@@PufferG_Fish Virtual Tom Brier Concert from August 2023.
@Keeper1st Thank You!
How lovely and silly....
❤
Speaking of Gustavo, have you heard anything from him recently? I'm worried something happened to him because he was looking forward to my performance of Elephant Tracks but never commented.
@@bencarter8324 Gustavo Braga? I seem to recall a comment coming in from him a couple weeks ago.
@@Keeper1st Yes, forgot to clarify! I hope he's okay!
L. A. Trine.... 🤣
My english is not good, so idk what's funny point.. but still very good music and I can feel Tom's style! Thanks!
A "latrine" is another name for a bathroom. Tom's pseudonym for this is "L. A. Trine".
Its about toilets
It's a joke song about toilets 😂
Do you think you could post an updated link for the Discord server with the Tom updates? The link on one of your prior update videos seems to have been expired.
@@horst29 The link on the channel’s Posts tab is still valid.
@Keeper1st I see it, thank you ❤️
Is that the famous Lavatoria A. Triné?
🤣
How’s Tom doing
@@chriscarruth5147 Same as explained in summer of 2023.
@@Keeper1st I’ve fallen behind sorry to pry
can we get an update on Tom?
