The 2nd gun I bought for my wife, decades ago, was a 3913. Still one of her favorite guns today. Was the best CC gun of the 90s. It was all stainless forerunner to the Shield.

Dream on. These were not cheap guns to make. It was between Sig Sauer, Beretta, CZ, H&K and S&W on the list. I liked the CZ75 a lot, the P226/228 even more, but the decision was S&W 5904s or 5906s. H&K was really nice but with the cost, there was no way that gonna happen. They were on list, so... Your money. My Hi Power was not on list.

I’m almost certain it wasn’t intentional, but the slide release on these pistols also acts as a gas pedal. Kind of a rad feature that was unintentionally ahead of its time. It works

You left out allot of important information like the SW645 and later 4506 were used as the bases that launched the 5906/4000 series of pistols and when the FBI needed a REPLACEMENT for the 9mm 5906 that performed so poorly in the 1986 FBI Miami Shootout the Feds wanted something with more power with was the 10mm Auto and Smith and Wesson answered the call with the 1076 a decoking 10mm Auto with a frame mounted Decocker similar to the SIG P220/226 series of pistols. Because of the Recoil of the 10mm Auto from the 4.25 inch barrel the FBI came up with a NEW LOAD that was a 180gr JHP Projectile flying at 1000 FPS and so people would not get the rounds confused the FBI asked Winchester to load the new 10mm Lite Load into a shorter casing and the 40SW was born along with the Smith and Wesson 4000 Series of pistols but Glock was able to BEAT Smith and Wesson to the market with the NEW Glock 22 40SW two weeks before the SW4006 was available for sale. The 5900/4000 series of pistols benefited from the the Lessons Learned from the 10mm Auto 1006 and 1066/1076 series by making the Frame HEAVIER and STRONGER than the Previous 39 and 59 9mm pistols and more inline with the SW645 which was built like a TANK and a Commercial Success with both Civilians and LEOs for only having a three year production period and being replaced by the 4506 and later the 4506-1 45ACP which was Heavy enough to handle the HOTTEST 10mm Auto loads. The 4006 Full Size magazine holds 11 rounds not 13! The TRUE SW4006TSW Police Trade in pistols have Rails that are milled out onto the FRAME not bolted onto them like the CHP pistol. Even the HOTTEST 40SW round fired from an ALL STEEL SW4006 the RECOIL is NOT that NOTICIBLE but if you shoot the Aluminum Frame SW4000 Series Pistols the recoil can be noticed but is its not BAD at all!
It would be nice if the people making videos like this actually knew about the weapons they are talking about and know the differences from Personal Experience and not from a Script that someone else wrote! I am a Smith and Wesson 3rd Gen All Steel Semi Auto Pistol Collector and I can tell you the differences and although my collection is not the biggest because I currently only own a SW645, SW CHP4006TSW, West Virginia Public Safety Commission 4566TSW (1/87 pistols made in 2013), 4506-1 Police Trade in LEO Agency Contract Pistol NO MIM parts and my latest addition a Performance Center Lew Horton Exclusive 4006 with Bar-Sto Barrel and Carry Compensator better known as the .40SW COMP from 1991 that is a DREAM Pistol!

If you have ever made a video before, you know how challenging it is to keep it within time limits so that a viewer doesn't lose interest and moves on. If the poster went into the detail you are suggesting, the file would be terrabyte in size and run nearly an hour.
I posted a vid on the 469 and yes these older S&W pistolas are terrific by any measure. I stuff mine with a RamLine 15 round mag. ☠️

@@scarpia519 I know that there is allot of information that is available and going into everything is almost impossible but when talking about a subject and touching on a sub-section of the subject the info should be correct and that is my point. I own Custom Firearms Shop and I do not have the time to make videos.

@@af22raptor23503 Your original posting rambled on and on. All I got out of it was the 11 rounds versus 13 error. The original poster was trying to inform (new) gun enthusiasts that the older model S&W semi-autos continue to be high valued guns and there are more than just Glock's out there.

@@scarpia519 If that is all you got out of my comments then you should go back to school and take a reading comprehension course so you can understand what you read if that does not work maybe a trip to a neurologist to have some brain scans to see if you have a brain tumor or any other issues that can cause cognitive issues with understanding written text or maybe you just do not process information that you read and need things processed for you by someone else but there is help out there to help you just need to ask!

@@af22raptor23503 You sir are the one who missed the point. Your description of these guns is so detailed, I lost interest and by the way, the last neurologist I saw, I told him to take his medical degree and shove it up his ass. As for me, I managed to earn degrees in mathematics, electrical engineering and physics which included a participation in the 1989 Noble Prize in Physics. My point is that I not only understand how guns work and how to make a video, but I also understand the electrodynamics of the atoms that make up the freakin' gun. But that's just me. Have a great day, well, make that a good day.
