I like the rotation stopping peg, but I'm thinking some magnet's to create positive stops every 90 degree rotation would be a nice addition too. Dove tail's for the romance of craftmanship...
Dovetail. Sheesh! You’re killing it with these projects. There’s so much good information in your videos too. I really believe you’re one of the top woodworking channels on RUclips, I hope the algorithm kicks in for you because you deserve more recognition.
Half-blind dovetails. This is definitely one of the more interesting coffee tables I've seen yet. I love how all the hardware in this build are hidden. That medallion you put in also adds a really nice touch. 👌 Makes me want to make a logo of my own now.
@@TimberBiscuitWoodworks it definitely paid off. The table looks sharp 👌 I forgot to look at the description in your video, so I'll need to watch the entire video again so I don't ruin your analytics with a short retention time haha
It wouldn't be the first time I've gone back and watched a video over from beginning to end, if truth be known I do it loads as I love stealing idea's I have not thought of myself 😂😅.
I am using our design premise with the lazy Susan and beveled edges for my maple live edge game table with wavy maple bowties. Lovely work as always. Bravo!
Another beautiful piece, your craftsmanship is top notch. I've been into the craft for about 2 years now and absolutely love it. I hope to eventually be as good as you are. Thanks for another great video keep em coming.
Dove tails. Just love the look it elevates the pie e to fine furniture. Although, I saw a drawer that had the dove tail verticle rather than off the side. One dove tail that the side alid into on the front. Want to try that next time I do a drawer.
Dovetail BUT I do love the rabbets as well. This is such a cool project, I would be interested in the plan. Your designs and videos just keep getting better. Amazing stuff dude!
Dovetails~! May seem like a hassle, but they're a great touch for hand-made pieces...even if it's a Pantorouter making them. This is a great piece~! I can see adding this to my "Must build" list. Thanks for the video~!
I haven’t quite reached the point of making plans for this one yet. It takes a while to put them together so I don’t do so unless I know people are interested. But if I do make plans I ping you here with an update.
I totally get the in and out jointing process, but with the inability to measure properly like you could on a rip cut, you’ll end up having to rip your top to a final dimension instead, thus leaving the outside board shorter than the rest. That would drive me nuts, and I’d rather just make sure my jointer is square and then rip each board evenly. To each their own though of course, I just prefer symmetrical. Very cool design as well!
I'm picking up what your putting down. I don't really shoot for all of my boards exactly the same width, I prefer a more organic look, but I can see certain scenarios where that would be warranted. In those cases I would do exactly what you have described. Thank man!
Dovetails. They look nice and demonstratea a high level of skill. However with no special equipment or expertise, I stick to rabbits. Great video and excellent game table. Love the Dad jokes too 😅 I'm from England where we talk slowly so hearing you talk that fast to fit everything into the video has left me exhausted 😉 😊 Liked and subscribed. 👍
Thank you, glad to hear you enjoyed it! Yeah, there's a ton to pack in, so my apologies for the speedy talk, I'll keep our friends across the pond in mind for the next one. And thank you for the support. Welcome to the channel!
Yoooooo Shane!! freakin 3:54 mark & da chicken joke literally made me laugh enough to pause & commnet about it!! Back to the video & will drop another commnet to help the alligatorithym for da RUclipss!! Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!
Soooo many FANTASTIC Dad jokes in this one to compliment this freakin insanely COOL table. The lines are so clean Bud!! Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out again!!
Fabulous! I too prefer jointing complimentary edges. My process is very similar. It was interesting you planed the boards even though you hadn’t jointed a face. Do you find that a little warping cleans up planing directly? I’ve been afraid to try given the price of walnut lol.
Thank you! As long as the boards are relatively flat I don’t have an issue skip planing then jointing an edge. But if there is a big cup or something like that I’ll joint the face first.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Lately, we’ve been into Catan, Scrabble, Uno Party, and Jumanji of all things. But backgammon is making its way into the conversation.
I really don't get it, you should have a ton of more subscribers These videos is definitely one of the best I watch here on YT. (I think I have a say in that since I've been watching woodworking videos for years... 😀 I'll keep on commenting and liking your videos and perhaps the algoritm will help your channel to grow. (Someone wrote that the more activity a channel have the better chance to be among the top search when people do a search. I don't know if it is true, but It can't hurt to try 🙂 I really loved this build, both my wife and our kids loves boardgames so this would be a nice project. I'm looking forward to see more of your content, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
Haha, you and me both! But I do really appreciate your support, all of the interactions are positive for the algorithm. I have a new build video coming on Sunday for a game board that I think you're going to dig too!
Dovetails all day every day unless the options is dovetail and halfblind dovetail then we have a fight on our hands 😳. The gaming table turned out really awesome and to give you an idea of what I'd change, it's something so ridiculously simple for someone who has your skillset. The Peg that holds the tables stationary is the only thing I would change and it's a simple one but will help you loads going forward. Take the Peg and drill down the centre once done place a kitchen cupboard doors soft close spring pin and glue it into the Pegs new central hole then you can just push the Peg down when you want to separate the two tables and it will POP up, releasing the locking mechanism and giving your young children hour's of fun sending their parents round the twist😢🤯with them constantly popping the Peg up and down 😂😅. As alway's buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧. HAPPY DAY'S!!!
Haha! That’s pretty accurate. I considered doing something like that actually but opted for the inset pin just to keep things simple. I think the spring loaded version would be a lot of fun though.
Sweet! It works really well if you’re looking for a small shop solution. The biggest issue I have is its capacity, as it’s only 15 gallons, so if I’m milling a lot of lumber it can fill up quickly.

Dovetails. But I use rabbits 95% of the time for speed and ease. Plus, I really don't make a lot of fine furniture.
Yeah, I think rabbet joints are a quick and clean looking option.

Rabbit - could be used for puzzles as well. Beautiful piece!
For sure! My wife is an avid puzzler.
Dovetails....hands down but the half, half and half makes a nice drawer also
Yeah, that's quick way to get them knocked out.

I totally agree, it's that cherry on top when you see a nice set of dovetails on a piece. And, yes, sliding dovetails are a fun option too.
Dovetail. Rabbet, Well anything other than pocket holes will do. Awesome build my friend. I really like the lazy suzan feature.
Haha, you're right about that! Thank you very much!
Dovetails. Just found your channel and subscribed. Great content and very entertaining sense of humor.
Awesome, thank you! And welcome to the channel!
Can’t decide what I enjoy more - the builds or the dad jokes? “Yes”
Luckily you don’t have to! I feel like the dad jokes are just peanut butter to the woodworking jelly haha
Dovetails are fancy and all, but I prefer the simplicity of the "rebate".
I love me a good rebate at times as well.
Would really appreciate you throwing some plans together for an intermediate woodworker. I have a son I would like to build this as a wedding gift.
Awesome! If I end up making the plan I’ll reply to you here to let you know.

the triple whammy!
Bunnytails. Rounded half-blind tails? ;-)
Haha! I see what ya did there.
cool
Thanks man!
Haven’t finished the video quite yet, but what was the approximate final cost?
All in with the lumber, hardware and finish it was just over 500.
Thanks! That’s actually less than I was expecting. Pretty reasonable.
Yeah not too bad.

Sorry, but your videos are great, thanks so much for sharing!
Bonus points for creativity tough haha. Thank you, happy to hear that you’re enjoying them.
Dovetail or rabbit cuz I was paying attention
Yeah you were!
Dovetail, But how do I make a living doing this?
That’s the conundrum isn’t it.
Rabbet! Dovetails are far too decorative and traditional for my tastes.
Yeah, I think they both have their place. For this piece, I think the angles in the design lent themselves well to using the dovetail joint.
That's a great point!
First!
Haha, I think you just got edged out this time.
Rebate!
Hell yeah!
