I haven’t seen many videos showing how MarsCat behaves when not interacted with constantly, so hopefully this video will help give people an idea of what MarsCat’s autonomy is like.
Thank you for this! There’s a pretty huge lack of reviews and first hand experience with marscat (not made by the creators which would inherently have bias). I think the advertisements and features shown by the team that made marscat might have been a bit too ambitious and at worst misleading given what seems to be the final result. Still a very cute kitty and I’m glad you gave her a home!
His name is Somber Kitty! He's named after a character in a book series that I loved growing up, but I thought the name was fitting for him with how sad his meow sounds. I don't believe he purrs.

Is this firmware 1? After recognising the ball he/she should of walked forward then swipe at the ball. They must of added walk forward in the next firmware version (unfortunately mine veers to the right very time and misses the ball completely : )
I'm not sure which firmware version he's on since he was purchased secondhand, is there a way to check? He does usually walk forward and attempt to kick the ball when he sees it, but misses almost every time.
the way marscat walks looks like it’s walking on stilts lol. it’s so unnatural looking. and it doesn’t make that many interesting sounds either. aibo is so much better in these aspects and more
Will it follow you around? What happens if left alone at home? Have you move it onto a rug to she how it walks on that? Why don't you move around instead of staying in one spot? We can't really tell if the thing is worth it or not when you staying in one spot all the time.
808 in art hi-fi Rush is also a black cat, but he has blue lines all over it. This one doesn’t look similar to 808 that’s why I gave it to nickname 808.
Are you gonna get Metacat? I personally find that cat doesn’t even compare to “lulu” (furreal) or “the joy for all” because its eyelids don’t really blink, the blinking happens inside the eye. Its appearance is slightly more realistic but not by much.
I'll probably wait to try and find one secondhand for cheaper, but I am interested in MetaCat! I'm not a fan of digital eyes on most animatronics, but I actually don't mind them in this case. From what I've heard, MetaCat is more plush and doesn't have as much of a hard plastic frame inside like Joy for All does. That was one of my biggest complaints with Joy for All, since it seems counterproductive to have a therapy robot that's not cuddly.
Videos like this are always scary. There is something as wrong with them as the behaviour of some lunatics, adultery, blasphemy and other obscenities that are a necessary fault of society. You see, I just watched a video about a clumsy robot remotely resembling a cat, yet there is that fear in it, the very one that is powerful! Its movements, its sounds, it is all so inappropriate and wrong that it generates pathological error on a subconscious level. You look at it and it feels like someone is trying to give me some information, to communicate something, but can't because of a pathetic limitation. When you look at other robots, you don't feel the least bit alive in them, but this look straight into the camera seemed much more alive than anything else we've been able to see. But how loudly the motors make the noise kills all the "life" in this creature completely. And really, isn't it strange to keep in mind all the time that this cute robot, acting like a child, is in fact completely lifeless, empty?
This reminds me of a cat that I saw a video game called hi-fi rush You know what why don’t we nickname this robotic cat how about? …..808 It will be proof of its artificial intelligence

He has no hair, he's just made of hard plastic! Elephant Robotics did release another robotic cat called MetaCat that's long-haired though.
