Shame this video wasn't longer, these videos on older more affordable bikes are great
That MV is a piece of art
For me Aprillia too!
No doubt. But the RSV is damn beautiful, too.
Guys you must get Itchy Boots on thd show. Her name is Noraly Schoenmaker and she is touring SA alone on her bike.
Well said ! Fell in love in 2003 seeing the F4 in a showroom. Timeless styling and design
Got a 2001 rsv .Owned since new. l love it more more than my RSV 4 [09] and my GSX-R 1000 [2017] The old RSV is to me something really special.
When I first saw the mv I thought it was the perfect bike. Still think the same and finally got one after 20 years
It is up to your dreams ? It's my dream bike too
Did it live up to your expectations?
Congrats, though.
@@aabidamn yes absolutely and them some. Will never sell it. When I m to old to ride I will put it in my house as a show piece.
@@crazyfou34 yes Alex. Just keep on dreaming. You will get it eventually. It took me 20 years because I started a family but I finally got it.
Love my RSV.. I also have a few Japanese I4 sport bikes, SRAD, ZX12R etc.. but the RSV is the bike I ride the most.. just a fan of twins 😊
Same goes for me with my 2003 Aprilia RSV MILLE, I rode newer faster bikes but nothing compares to the good old 60 degree twin 🥲🙏🏾
MV is a work of art , my dream bike is the MV 750 senna...
ThankYou !
I Loved &Truly miss my 2001 RSV-R,,,,
a Magnificent Lion of a Bike, the Swing Arm was to Marvel at,,, the lovely Ohlins, the Steady Power and then, the Alarming Power of the”Attack”all the while a Comfortable Ride. She was a Beauty !
Unfortunately, here in Canada, in the Prairies anyway,, MV is Recognized but impossible to Find,,, that sucks.
Only 2 Bikes left in the Garage
, 09 Ducati1198 & 2003 Guzzi LeMans,,,
miss the Days when All 3 nested in there ..!
‘Love Your RUclips Segments, ‘All We Get Here...Thamks !
great videos and adventures
that mv agusta 750 came out when I was in high school,it was the cliche bedroom poster bike of wonder and wet dreams where as the aprilia never made sense to my younger self because it didn't make popping sounds and fill the air with glorious smelling smoke and the RS designation wasn't anywhere to be seen,so naturally the other poster bike was an RS250.thank you knee down Donny and Zoe for the clips on the awesome bikes of yesteryear.
Didn't make sense? The Gen1 was a hairy chested real man's bike with more grunt than most could handle and rode rings round any 750 mv of the day. A factory akra pipe fitted to it and the noise was pure V60 thunder....what's not to like?😁
@@ReferenceFidelityComponents I didn't articulate what I was trying to say-in my high-school mind if it wasn't a 2stroke it didn't make sense
You should have matched the generations, either a later MV 1000 or a first gen RSV. As done you have compared the 90's with the 00's. Either way I would have put the MV on the top rung, but I only have my own experiences to base that on.
That’s crazy, I was just thinking about the RSV1000R and how rare they are because I never see them sadly, same goes for Mv’s
I've got one. It's brilliant
@@R0BL0W which bike? I got a 2003 Aprilia RSV MILLE
@@NudaMan I've got the 2006 rsv1000r. The one that came after the Mille
Add me to the list ive an 06 rsv1000r
Ohlins suspension & blue Oz wheels. It's a beast 👊
That MV is drop dead gorgeous, but RSV for me. Nothing like old school vtwin grunt, it won't win the race, but it tickles me in all the right spots.
I love my 2005 rsv factory 🥰
I want an f4 im so tempted to buy a 1st and 2nd gen if i get the chance then if they ever make a 3rd gen get that one too
I've owned an RSV1000R for a few years and it is easily my favourite bike I've ever ridden. :)
That f4 is an sr version. 143 horse power.
Give me the Aprilia every time, in fact give me the Gen1 Aprilia...a real man's bike. Gruntier than a pig fed on beans and with that impeccable chassis. Better looking than later Gen2 bikes, more ergonomic, more natural feeling and better low down torque making it feel like a beast that would spit you off if you dared to prod the hog too hard. Lovely induction and engine sound made it addictive to ride and handling was sublime. Against the MV750 it was was better made, more reliable and would be gone before the MV had got into it's stride.
I remember my first IoM experience, racing a Ducati 998 and a ZXR750 over the mountain. The gen1 RSV I was on left both for dead which came as a shock to them. Faster on the straight and turned quicker in the corners. The best riding experience of my life.
The RSV is a classic and prices are steadily rising. Just buy one! One of the best road going superbike ever made.
This paint job desperately needs to be applied to the new RSV4.
I died at "this is alot of braking"
A combo of the 2 would be perfection, MV looks, but with the Aprilia V twin engine 🤤!
Gosh why am I watching this when I've already sworn to my wife I'm not gonna get back to riding ten years ago! Can I just keep an F4 in my garage for the eye's treats....
I've owned a 1000cc MV and an RSVR and it's the Aprilia for me all day long every day!
Aprilia for me, thank you. Nothing beats a v-twin sportsbike for making you feel like you're riding a living thing.
60 degree 990cc V-twin in the Gen2 Tuono and RSVR. I have a 2007.5 version. FYI.
I have a 2007 and a 2008. I do like the 2008 a bit better but the difference is negligible
I like the big guy! He's funny.
How can you compare 1000cc with 750cc?
2 cylinders vs 4 cylinders. Not really about CC, hence the WSBK rules at the time.
MV all day long!
I'm surprised that Aprilia managed to finish the recording without the service mode haha I had 2 of these and both had issues with sensors that caused the stupid service mode and also meaning spending more time in the garage than on the road,it's a shame as I bought 2 as I love the muscular look of the bike and after watching this with the perfect colour combination of the bike shown Im going to look for another one 😅
That's a pity, have done 000's of fault free miles on my '06. Hope you find the right one soon 👍🏻
I get that when I ride of after 1st start sometimes.
It's been happening for years.
I just pull up turn bike off and back on and don't see it again.
Don't know what causes it
Bike runs fine so I don't care.
I suppose It's just one of those quirky Italian bike things 🤷
The service comes up every 7500 kilometres, and you can turn the sign off without much work, just google it
MV ❤️💪
the tach on the rsv does not work lol. Anyway I love the vids
Mat.. did you mention Fire It Up? Seems not to have a very credible name down here in the South.
How so?
RSV for me
The bike It's not a simple F4 750, it's F4 750 SR, the latest version of 750 with SPR engine with 140 hp (146 hp with RG3 exhaust).
Highly underrated bikes
DREAM MOTO'S
I have the Aprilia RSV mile 2001 in red with powered coated red wheels over a grand of carbon fibre even the dash is carbon fibre and all red bulbs shop fitted satnav the best brakes and steering damper full race exhaust it’s in stunning condition and a private number plate with RSV this was all ready done when I bought it and bought the full leathers boots gloves two helmets and a Aprilia jacket I new the bloke he turned it down 1000-rpm to look after the engine. I did test ride it but not rode it for 10-years because of a disc in my neck. I paid 2.400 for it and was worth every penny. I look at it most days wishing if only I could ride it. I’ve been on many super bikes but the power of the Aprilia is different and I dint mean to days bikes.
Those can's on the RSV, if only I could find a nice mint set...
People in RSA are waiting for the *Aprilia RS660 Review*
Very Retro.
The girl is more sexier than both the bikes put together.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The MV AUGUSTA looks damn cool, but the APRILIA is something else.
My wallet is just thinking of the maintenance.
Very low maintenance on my Aprilias. However, the composite tank is an issue - don't leave it off the bike for long periods of time and don't leave E10 fuel in it for long periods of time.
I had two aprilias back in the early 2000s The one featured here and the slightly older mille.Never a problem with either bike.Like everything else if you are tempted you need one that has been looked after which means a full service history.Beautiful torquey power especially low down out of the corners.
I'd thake the Aprilia and budget for a new Sprag Clutch just in case.
Just do the battery, solenoid and lead upgrade and don't worry about it again 👍
@@zedddddful
I'm close to 100k km's
on my 07 Tuono and haven't done any of that and it's been fine.
No problems apart from replacing the stator.
@@wradford1 it may have been already done by the last owner.
@@zedddddful
I don't think so
The previous owner didn't mention doing that mod.
I bought it with 5k km's on it 11 years ago.
It'll probably fail next time I ride it now 🙄
@@wradford1 have you still got the old style ytx12 on it?
Donovan, you should give Zoe more time to talk next time!
The Aprilia is about a 2006 model and the MV looks like a 2001 model! Not really a fair comparison!!
Not the same engine configuration, either. Comparisons are useless, people like different things on both bikes. It's not like comparing a Vespa to an Aprilia Superbike. Nowadays, the sport bikes are so damn fast.....95% of the riders will never reach the capability of their machine....without killing themselves in the process.
Electrical problems on Aprilia ? Back brake ?
Beautifull bike, but not for daily...
My friend had one for 11 years, 67000km and pretty reliable. Very jealous!
I'm at year 14 with mine. Low amounts of issues to date.
They were actually very reliable.
No more than any other Japanese bikes tbh i have a 06 tuono 1000r touch wood it's dam near bulletproof and build quality is up with hondas.
Rear brake sucks, electrical more in second gen, but pretty fixable
Aprilia rsv factory all day for me
A P R I L I A Yeeeessssssssssss
DAMN! LOOK AT HER EYES AND FACE. REMINDS ME OF NATASHA ROMANOFF WHEN SHE STEPS INTO THE RING OF IRON MAN 2 . THE BEDROOM EYES. JUST SAYIN!
mv my engine broke at 10,000 k
"Ageing but, Glamorous italian" i thought you were refering to Monica Bellucci...🤣😂
Donovan. It's pronounced " Agoosta"
A stupid comparison! The 750 cc 4 cylinder Superbikes of the 90’s only really had one sub litre bike and that was the L2 916 cc Ducati!
Everyone knows that MV is one of the Sexxxxxxiest bike out there...but why on earth they just selling couple of hundred bikes in an year, while Ducati and Aprilia is ripping the market......🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕
They're a low-volume botique company. Each bike is built by hand which produced less volume then machine made parts say in a Japanese bike.
@@Championedd , i know, but adhering to that philosophy wont make the business profitable and they were on the verge of shutting down their operations..MV should make comfortable and street worthy motorcycles rather than specialising in track tools.
Claudio Castiglioni tried to buy the MV race team when they closed down in the 1970's. What he did with Cagiva in GPs, then Ducati and finally MV were all because of his wish to own the MV GP team. He achieved a lot but never quite turned it into the dream.
Rotax bullet proof engine VS some Ferrari inspired contraption with good luck finding parts. I'll go with the Austrian made beast implanted in an Italian beautiful machine. Yes, the MV is absolutely beautiful and I'm sure it goes like stink BUT.....I'd rather have the Austrian reliability and the backing of a large company like Piaggio.
Good luck finding parts at a fair price for the aprilia too though
Believe it or not...they aren't too bad. The V4 which is NOT a Rotax has expensive parts and far less reliable but the V2 the parts are fairly inexpensive and plentiful. My boss has a bunch of bikes, too. He's got an Agusta F2 and the parts are very difficult to find and the prices are astronomical. Frankly speaking, price on parts is not an issue when you buy a very expensive bike like this, you should know what you're getting into before the purchase. However, not being able to find parts is a serious problem. I have a few expensive bikes and the first thing that I look for is spare parts and OEM availability. Just makes life less dramatic...Hehehehe

Love Aprilia
The RSV is much larger in real life than I thought. It has a massive front fairing. And I love how it looks.
By today’s standards, they are BIG. But that’s why I like them. Very roomy and comfortable. I’m 5’8” and on a new s1000rr, I feel HUGE…. Like a monkey 🙊 humping a football…
