    Your epic adventure reminds me of a 1972 trip I did with four friends in two Land Rovers that took us from Vanvouver to as far south as you can drive in South America.
    How will you deal with the Darien Gap?
    Also wonder if you've considered a heat exchanger shower?
    Of course you won't get as dirty as often driving a Toyota instead of a Land Rover.
    When you get to Argentina order Churasco Completo.
    Bon voyage.

    This whole time I’m like… how did you have the money to do this. 1- you don’t have kids. I’m turning 23 this month and have a 2 year old so I couldn’t even imagine. 2- you probably get paid by RUclips so that’s probably how. I watch pretty much every video and some more then once like your solid axle comparison video for example. Thank you. Honestly I’d like to see you do more of a blog as a separate series. I’m sure there’s a lot you aren’t showing and it would be cool to see more of your adventures

      They had good paying jobs on the island and hoarding old Toyota parts back when it was practically given away happened to be very good savings investments for all of us in BC. A truck I bought for 400 4 years ago I just sold for 6 grand in worse shape then I bought it They don’t really get any views they make maybe 100 bucks a month RUclips is hard until your get close to a million views consecutively

      Travel like this usually costs waaaaay less than living in Canada. If you can make the effort to save, and you’re frugal on the road, it’s possible. No kids always helps😜. I assume these two worked hard and made plenty of sacrifices in order to make this happen. Also, any of us that have been fortunate to travel this way understand that it’s a giant privilege, no matter how much effort it takes.

    I'm traveling vicariously with you from Yukon. I'm a Toyota guy. Back in the 80s took my 84 hilux to Baja towing a trailer with 2 buggies on board. Toyota did not exist in Mexico so the SOP then was to leave a visa number at a San Diago Toy dealer in case parts were needed. The Baja was very quiet back then. Big airport at Cabo was just a rumor. Anyways my point was the Mexicans were wonderful. No issues, not one. Enjoy yourself.

    17:44 The best way to get the siphon started without sucking on the tube would be to hold the tube in a "U" shape, fill the tube with water, hold your thumb over the end you want the antifreeze to come out of, put the other end in the rad and lower the end your thumb is on then release your thumb, let the water in the tube start the siphon.
    25:22 This is good advice, as Canadians loosing your ID in Mexico/South America is going to make it really hard to get back into the states. Don't give officials at the border a hard time (not that you two would, but for others), you are asking permission to enter another country, it is not your "right" to be able to cross, so many people that have issues with authorities get this wrong all the time.

    I have 3 x 5VZ-FE's. One was overheating on hills. I'm pretty sure it was the fan clutch. I replaced all 3.
    I've done tons of 4x4ing in Baja. I could tell you some great places to visit but I think you need to be with a few vehicles otherwise you could get stuck if you break down.
    When you go through Guerrerro Negro you can get a street puppy on the west end of town. I got 4.

    • @shortbusdog
      @shortbusdog Год назад

      If the fan doesn’t come on when you start it up after it’s been off for awhile then it’s bad. The fluid in the clutch drains while it’s not running which makes the fan come on. Once you start it up it takes a minute but it moves the fluid back and will shut the fan off.

    • @ToyotaWorldRunners
      @ToyotaWorldRunners  Год назад

      We are definitely suspect of the fan clutch, trying to get one shipped down. As for the puppy.... Maybe on our way back!
