I Like to recommend anything to anybody who's getting into modern their car Start by going to a junkyard and getting the best stuff From the The fanciest Model of your vehicle.
Back in the 70s it was, chrome air cleaners, lift shackles, sidepipes or glasspacks, cragar ss or keystone classic wheels, cheap blackjack headers that always leaked and the flanges dragged the ground and air shocks that always leaked.
I had a jetta with the 12 valve VR6, made my own grille from expanded aluminum, had a fancy exhaust and built my own ignition coil pack from gm DIS coils...thought I was cool lol.
A good CAI (if it's closed, not open sucking in hot air from engine bay) can actually give you a little more power and also make the car feel more responsive, and if its a turbo car, the turbo can work more efficiently thanks to the extra air. The main downside is that most of these aftermarket CAI use cotton gauze or foam filters, which don't filter as good as paper ones.
Cowl induction is ideal. Ask yourself if the stock airbox is a bottleneck for your car. If no, don't change it. If you're going to change it anyway, be smart about it.
I love teaching myself how to wrench on my cavalier. It's been lots of work but lots of fun learning solo where i can be in my own little world under that car and everything else stays out lol.
Its NOT (only) THE LICENSE PLATE🤦🏿 IM 43 been installng speakers w my uncle since 91. U can remove the LP or stick carboard behind it and the cars will still rattle. Its the BODY PANELS.... especially if you have big bass. Alsoe who gaf what you all hear outside. INSIDE is nice glorious low tones not to mention a free back massage for my commute home🥰...I love this channel and your car knowledge but your sound system knowledge sounds like kids and karens on social media. Cmon dude😫
Yall just got a difference in opinion is all. The way you want people to understand your love for having your bass up, you have to understand not all of those people are gonna like that sort of thing.
@duwuchann2742 difference of opinion.....no. Wrong is wrong. Im telling you EXACLTY what it is. To a person w little to zero experience installing speakers one would think its the license plate and it is sometimes. All cars are different but 99% of the time u can remove the plates and it will still rattle. Its the whole cars body panels. Dont tell me its a difference of OPINION when im stating ALL FACTS brother🤦🏿 just cause everyone doesnt like it doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want. At least be correct in your opinion..it has awesome low tones INSIDE the car w zero rattle where the person that paid for it sits.
For real... even the worst subwoofers you can feel the bass. Who cares if people outside only hear the license plate buzzing. You're not outside the car and the speakers aren't for them (until you get to SPL competition level stereo, of course at which point you bolt the license plate down to a damper or put your rolling stereo on a trailer from show to show depending how deep you go)
And some cars lend themselves well to cheap ricer mods. Chevy cobalts, honda civics, dodge neons, etc. wouldn't look right without a big wing, hot air intake, and stupid looking wheels

You are right. As long as they keep the original parts you are absolutely fine.
