@@beezee1196 depends on the dancer. Some get a new pair every week, others can go for over a month. Depends on how they break their shoes in, how close to a performance they might be, how often they dance, among other things. Also depends on their finances cause a pair of good shoes is not cheap

Being the mother of a dancer and the fact she looked at her teacher for approval immediately after, I honestly think she was doing it to prove to herself & him that she could do it. Nothing is more important to a dancers heart (and self esteem) than pushing themselves to do something they thought they could never accomplish and not only doing it, but having the approval of your instructor. The money was an afterthought, if any thought at all.

They are quite healthy, eats well enough to not have anemia - they would broke their bones if otherwise! Also: from our last Xmas work party - people from ballet eats more than you think 😂 and I am talking professional ballet dancers.
