Wow, such an amazing bike build! I was completely mesmerized by the attention to detail. Your music made me think I was in a spa for MTB. Awesome loved it!
I think that’s going to be only to his bike + riding style + area. Theres a huuge forum thread on mtb-review about certain setups for different bikes and riding styles. But what did it for me was experimenting, and now my setup is 95% perfect for my area & riding style. Don’t be afraid to do radical changes (just remember to write down your tune settings). Good luck
That's got to be the cleanest & neatest workshop I have ever seen. Says a lot about the man with the care and attention to detail during the build. I'd love to see you and Joann Barelli in the workshop together. I suspect you would get on each other's nerves. 😁
Awesome bike. I just got my very 1st full suspension bike a couple months ago. I'm getting used to it. But my hardtail is just so much faster and climbs so better.
No, the Tokens are to change the curve of the shock. I like the rear to ramp up nicely at the end. That way it stays souple on top and supportive on bigger hits.
Hello Remy, love your channel!, how do you feel the Cube 170 compares to the 150? Im very much considering buying one of the two, and cannot decide - I do not live in an area with real mountains, so its kinda flat but technical - then once or twice a year I go for a travel to visit some mountains.
Well that is a tough one. I love both bikes but the 150 is lighter and pedals well. It is still very capable but the 170 can take bigger hit and his more comfy. All depends where are your strengths and weakness.
This video was a masterpiece, I loved it--the Gee Millner style was amazing (per another comment) I was really, really looking forward to an explanation of the parts and such. And I mean really looking forward to it, because I'm a complete noob at bikes. :(
I use it for anything carbon. Especially bars. I m so used to screws that I have a pretty good idea of what 5 or 7nm is. On Carbon, I play it smart and use a torque. That little Topeak one os pretty cheap and his perfect for bars stuff.
More than a year that I committed with your assemble Dream bike ...I really love love love your bike but I'm also dream to have it even old bike from you master Ren please kindly send it in Philippine thanks
@Remy Métailler could you give your height and stride length? i am thinking about to buy a 29 trail bike but i am not sure with reach and sizing. Thanks!
What surprised you the most in this video?
How big and organised your toolbox and garage are 😂
no tire inserts
How many of each part you have in stock
That you had to tighten the collor on the dropper with a wrench. Hand tight should be enough?
That was so relaxing to watch man
Wow, such an amazing bike build! I was completely mesmerized by the attention to detail. Your music made me think I was in a spa for MTB. Awesome loved it!
Hey Remy, if you're ever stuck for video ideas, a DVO suspension set-up/tuning tutorial would be cool!
YES!

Oddly this is as therapeutic as those Iceland drone videos.
Nice work mate, was really refreshing and interesting to see some different gear in use, and to look it up in the bio.

Awesome bike. I just got my very 1st full suspension bike a couple months ago. I'm getting used to it. But my hardtail is just so much faster and climbs so better.

Great editing

Nice TRS, I have one too
Very detailed build. Some commentary would have made it even more amazing.
That pump! :o
Ehehe. Top notch
Hello Remy .... why did you create the fillet at the fork tube ?? Do you no longer use the classic spider?
No, I now Use a One Up Components EDC.
more of these videos when you can, if they attract attention
Awesome bike wish i could build a bike it would be a wish of mine to build my own
Did you build 4 of em?

@@remymetailler Good luck this season mate!

@@remymetailler Nice :)
What’s the name of that bike stand you used? Nice stuff
Topeak. It is called the Prestand Pro
@@remymetailler Thanks, but I am asking about the parking stand at the end of video?
DVO DVO DVO 💪🏼👍💪🏼👍
nice
Cool bike. I also wanted to buy the 170 SL in 22", but no Cube dealer could get me one :-(
What are the pins you put in the dropper? Is this is alter travel? Great video!
Exactly. 180 to 160.
Hey Remy, i like your bikebuild! Perfekt work! Love the Details and the 29“ to 27.5 build. The Fork is a 160mm Right?
No 180!
Rémy Métailler Nice! 👌🏼
Hi Remy, do you think to try also a mullet setup on this bike? And how much rise is the bar?
How much mm has The dvo rear shock you build in in the beginning? Awesome Video!
230 by 62.5mm
@@remymetailler thanks!
Super
nice video, why did use tape on handlebar before cutting ? thanks
Yes I do. It s to avoid that the carbon spreads as I don t have a carbon blade.
This is some cool beanz
Oui alu
Hi Remy i have a Stereo 170 too. Why you put all these tokens on the shock? You can run less pressure this way?
No, the Tokens are to change the curve of the shock. I like the rear to ramp up nicely at the end. That way it stays souple on top and supportive on bigger hits.
A hydraulic derailleur ?? That's new for me , but they couldn't made a 90 degrees connection to avoid that extra cable ?

Do you Ride a cushcore or something similar?
No, just some air..

I was really, really looking forward to an explanation of the parts and such. And I mean really looking forward to it, because I'm a complete noob at bikes. :(
quick question remy! is there a particular reason why you mounted the air shock on the coil shock flip chip position?
Could be for the progressivity of the linkage in that position 🤔
I wonder what kind of vertical chain stays protectors these are. I just can’t find them in the Jenson online shop.
The are the stfubike protectors. They have their own shop at stfubike.com
Hey, how often did you use a torque wrench? I was wondering if I should invest in one or not or in a set of nice allen keys and ratchet set
I use it for anything carbon. Especially bars. I m so used to screws that I have a pretty good idea of what 5 or 7nm is. On Carbon, I play it smart and use a torque. That little Topeak one os pretty cheap and his perfect for bars stuff.
Hey Rémy, what did the total weight end up being?
15.7kg I believe
Rémy Métailler cool thanks man! Love your channel!
Au calme !!!
Hi Remy is this bike 27.5 rear, 29 front?
I dont think the Geo works as a Mullet Bike... thats a full 27.5 setup :D
why do you need threded steer tube if you have that stem with pre load screw? And why you dont run oval chainring as i saw you had it a while ago?
Nice vid! Can i ask what brand of gear set is that?
Rotor
😍😍😍👍👍👍👍
was this a mullet bike? what was your crank arm lengths ?
175

I noticed I may... have my brakes levers in the wrong position. Boy, things have change since I raced NORBA in the 90s :)
Oh I bet! Props to the first generation of rider because the gear was not amazing yet.
Props to you guys for riding back in the day with less than ideal material.
Its my dream bike
Wow gg
Rearwheel is a 27? Or does it work with 27 in rear?
What pump is that?
It is a Topeak Joe Blow Booster
Can i buy this bike😍😉
How much would it cost a lowly peasant such as myself to purchase all those parts?
is your bike a medium, large?
tu as oublié de citer opinel en invité spécial
Opinel, from Back Country Brewrie in Squamish, the most Canadian Opinel out there.
@Remy Métailler could you give your height and stride length? i am thinking about to buy a 29 trail bike but i am not sure with reach and sizing.
Thanks!
Simon Katsch what size are you? What brand are you looking at?
Rémy Métailler 1,7m 84 stride length.i am looking for a small company in Germany called Last. The Modell Glen
This video is so oddly satisfying, feels just like watching a bike porn.
About that yes..
i wonder what he did to the dropper
