- I got some comments on my original build video that folks wanted more details. Here is a supplemental video that discusses the details of building the connectors the hamsticks attach to, and where I got the parts. I also show some of the non-box related elements, like the drawbar mount and the fiberglass mast sections. Finally, the final rig was used on my van for 2022 field day with great results.
KK7SWB- just finished my build! bought all the parts from your links in the videos, watched them multiple times- waiting on my hamstick order!! THANKY YOU!!
Thanks for the video! Between this and the first one, I'm ready to build!
Great! Let me know how it comes out!
Just found this video. It answered many questions for me. I must have seen it before because I built the exact same thing. Much credit to you. I tried the double shoulder washers and thought I was doing something wrong. The connection was good and did not short out. looking for the original build now. excellent Video.
Glad you liked it!
thanks for the Video. very Helpful. Do you happen to remember what gauge of wire you used? and solid or Stranded?. TIA.
Stranded 14 ga thhn
Hot dam . How you doing sir . Haven't hurd from you in a very long time.
Laying low on anti-sociable media, but otherwise doing fine. Thanks for asking.
way to much detail on the assembly of the mechanical, no explanation of the wire connections. Nor no picture of a finished how it looks after being wired.
So funny, the thumbnail photo is of the fully assembled unit and the wiring is plainly visible. Oh well. Remember this is a followup video based on viewer feedback.
How did you not understand it? Center conductor to ring terminals on half of the hamstick connectors. Picture at 15 seconds in.
many thanks! ordered the stuff as instructed and today it's ready to go! 73 de ER1SKI 🙂
Good luck!
