Grief is a journey many of us take at one time or another. For the Chapman family their journey began with the accidental death of their 5 year old daughter, Maria Sue, whom they adopted from China. In Choosing to SEE, Mary Beth Chapman shares her struggles with the tragic loss of Maria Sue, her journey to heal, and the unexpected path God has placed her on. Even as difficult as life can be, Mary Beth and the Chapmans choose to see with faith and hope. Foreword by Steven Curtis Chapman.

I pray people will continue to watch this---that God will put it front and center--and see how Christians handle death ----we do not grieve as those without hope.

This video touched me in a strong way. I lost my 4 1/2 month-old grand-daughter on January 23rd due to accidental suffocation while sleeping in my daughter's arms. My daughter blames herself for what happened. We ache for our own loss but also for our daughter in her grief and guilt. But our faith is sustaining us and giving us hope. Just like Mary Beth said, we know our grand-daughter is in heaven and fine but we want her back, but we know one day we will see her again. God Bless the Chapman family. You are truly an inspiration and thank-you Steven for the gift of your wonderful music for many years.

Still really emotional and uplifting to watch 11 years later. I love that he wrote a new ending for the song: "And I know, the truth is the dance still goes on."

Because we believe in Jesus we are not immune from heartaches. But faith becomes completely real in the worst moments of life. Pain can either help you or harm you. What then is your choice?

When our nine-year-old special-needs daughter passed away in August 2014 I actually remember reading their book and I remember watching interviews and as crazy as this sounds it actually helped me. I just, I just didn't feel so alone ...

In this day and age people seem to be done with other people… But seeing the story and hearing the encouragement I realized one of the main reasons that we are here is to lift each other up… To find the God in each and every person on this planet

Thank you so much for sharing your heartbreaking story with us and how you and your family survived such a horrifying accident. Tomorrow will be 24 years since I tragically forgot that my daughter had gone with me in the car to drop her daddy off at work while all the other kids stayed home. It was a horrific accident that I will live with the rest of my life. My heart breaks for your son Will. I am so thankful everyday that my Lord and Savior is carrying me through as I know he is carrying your son. God bless you all as you support him and strengthen him as he lives his life out and finds his strength daily in God, the ONLY one that can get us through. God bless you Will, Mary Beth and Stephen Curtis Chapman and ALL of your family

Such an AMAZING term the process “Grief With Hope”. Through following the loss of my pastor’s son succumbing to suicide living with Bipolar Syndrome and Chemical Dependency Use Disorder, the @OverflowFoundation was created to #PHIL, Pour Hope Into Life, of others! Thank you for this amazingly, raw and candid interview! It is healing to so many! ❤️🙏💔

This is a loving, interactive family. She was doing dishes because she loves her family and she is bonding with her dad while playing in the water.
