19:36 When Bryce was so confused at Martha ranting about druggies, r-wordists, and sinking boats on the horizon etc. She's basically a representation of the English version of far-right groups in America. Hateful towards anyone not from England being in the country e.g. Teri being American/poc. It's a pretty common sentiment over there, from what I've seen. The same way we have Trump people who'll just proudly say hateful things out loud

And I've found that when they use 'Asian' in a derogatory manner, they're often primarily talking about people from Pakistan, India, etc., because there's a fairly dominant population there. They usually get scapegoated for a lot of crime and stuff like that, even when many of the perpetrators aren't even Asian lol. Teri could easily pass as South Asian, so it probably brought even more of Martha's racism out

I don't know guys. I know I would've done the same thing as Donny. And just like him, try to talk some sense into her. But, I'm also a bonafide psychic empathe. I can even sometimes see peoples' auras. And while I say that it is good to be compassionate; sometimes it's to our own detriment.
What's crazy is that this is a true story. If you didn't know it was, you'd think wow these writers are crazy for coming up with this insane character.
Yes, and Richard Gadd (the real life victim) is playing himself. It's all very meta. What strikes me is the duality of how things are still playing out in REAL LIFE! The real life Martha (Fiona Harvey) has even come out and given more publicity to the show. She's IN REAL LIFE, helping him reach an audience just like she did in the show's first appearance of her at his act. Fiona has become the catalyst for Richard's burgeoning success! He just signed a major deal with HBO the other day! 🤯
I love this show because if it were a fictional story Donny’s actions would make no sense and you’d have a lot of trouble empathizing with him after some of the decisions he makes. But it is real, it’s a very honest portrayal of his character and you have no choice but to try to understand where he’s coming from because it’s true and human
Well said. And I think a lot of those questions on Donny's reluctance are answered in the next heartbreaking episode. Oh, it's gonna be rough for Rob especially.
Another one of Martha’s victims just did an interview with Piers Morgan. There was a woman before Donny. He also interviewed the real life Martha.

Oh, Rob is suffering through this one, folks! And we love it. And I find it so ironic that for this being such a dark show; I've never giggled as much at their Reactions. From Rob covering his eyes, their dancing, and Bryce's jokes - they're so amusing in these Reactions.
This is insanity after Martha doing that to terry for Donny not to contact the police after that would mean he also isnt in his right mind either I’m so disturbed by this show and hooked at the same time

I know a lot of people like to demonize Martha and criticize how Donny behaved but what you have to remember is that BOTH of them have unresolved mental health issues. You can play the if it were me game but you can't know what either was going through really. Yes absolutely Martha should be punished for what she did and Donny should have reported her sooner. But I can see why Donny felt sorry for her. As someone who had severe trauma I can see why he hesitated as well.
What Martha said to Terri is very on point with what some politicians have said here, esp the Conservatives and right leaning. So she's very racist, xenophobic, homophobic and transphobic. Things that could get her in trouble if she was reported. We have things like hate speech.
Btw Terri is a psychologist.

This show is so uncomfortable, but oddly I think that’s where its brilliance lies. It’s so raw and authentic. I think it’s a masterpiece, but I wonder if that makes me slightly masochistic, lol. Your facial reactions through these reactions mirrored my own.

One thing to consider is maybe they don’t trust the cops. Also Terri is a trans woman so the cops may not take her assault seriously. Just my two cents.

I totally understand your aggravation with Donny and his inability to call the police, however I believe the longer you watch the more you will understand and perhaps empathize with his mentality. The Rob in me, the way he looks like he is in physical pain, is me definitely wanting to turn it off. But the Bryce in me continued. lol
