@EOWS 812's SIREN PRODUCTIONS yeah I live in kansas there is one in topeka ks they just fixed the rowtater on it so that is the 3rd 1 all of them are a few hours away from me there is also 9 banshees and quite a bit of aca allertor 125 and some p-10s and a few aca screamers
Kinda surprised that these never took off and became more popular than the Thunderbolt; seems a single-motored siren with no blower would be more reliable and lower maintenance.
They would have been more popular if Federal Signal did not market them as a "Mid-Range" siren. They are also unfortunately not very reliable as their rotators are poorly designed, being belt driven and very often failing.
@@TrainsAreReallyCool Probably would've been more reliable if they went with a gearbox/chain rotator like ACA's P-series... but I guess the motorized rotator formula just works well enough for Federal that they still use it on the 2001 and 508.
Awesome sauce! A current video of this beast! Glad to see its still roaring and active! What a gem and sight to behold. Nice catch, and this is actually a really close up view!
I’m not too knowledgeable in Topeka’s siren system history but I believe you are right. They received these around the same time Topeka replaced theirs.
I know there's one on top of the veterans building near felker Park. Apparently the rotating belt is broken so wherever the wind blows that's where it chills. I rode by it a few times on my motorcycle and still sounds awesome
@cornflakes2126 i wish i had any one of those classics on a pole in my backyard, my neighbors would freaking freak out just seeing one of them! And any one of them would sound way better than that god-awful T-128 a couple hundred yards away.
@@xtramayo3727 it is almost the same actually. It is rated at 125dB at 100 feet, and the 10/12 allertors are about 123dB at 100 feet iirc. They might be 125 too actually but I honestly don’t think so
That’s because it’s a 10/12 port siren, where’s the common Thunderbolt 1000T is 5/6 port. Figure that 5 ports is half of 10 and 6 ports is half of 12 so that’s why they sound similar.
The rotating 3t22! This siren is very rare yet so iconic

Sweet! I love the raspy sound of a 10/12 500. I'm glad you filmed this today, the video came out awesome. Siren seems to be working fine as well
Aka Dundee Mi
@@mr.fortytwofortysix-two I fail to see how that one is relevant to this video or this comment

This is by far one of the best sounding but rather raspy 10/12 port sirens
A strong 2 port undertone
Fantastic sound. Scary as hell. I love it. Sounds like It ate a Thunderbolt and failed to become a P-50. lol
Something straight out of a movie! Sounds awesome!
It sounds like the Siren in the One Indiana Jones Movie with the Nuclear Bomb.
@@ACAAllertor125 there's an Indiana Jones movie with a Thunderbolt!
Dual Tone Sirens should definitely be Put Back into Production! They Sound Epic! Especially 7/10, 8/10, 8/12, 9/12, and 10/12 Port Sirens!

I almost saw a 500 siren in reedsburg Wisconsin but I was too late

I have a feeling this one came from Topeka Kansas when we updated our system, cause Abilene just got these a decade ago right?

It sounds like one of those coldwar siren audios.
It is
1:14 prerecorded 3T22
SPICY AF
It has the same port as a 3T22, 10/12
Nonetheless still has that 3T22/2T22 sound
Don’t forget 10/12 port of an ACA Allertor.
Or a 10/12 Port Mobil Directo BN44E.
Single chopper 10/12 is GODLY
Idk why but for me it sounds like a lamborghini huracan when it winds up
how lol
i dont hear any resemblence
Idk
Also sounds like a thunderbolt on chopper level 4
You mean 5?
Sounds like a siren I would use if we were at war with Arstotzka
The 500 SH-TT sounds like a mobil directo/thunderbolt chopper Lv.7
More like level 5
More like 3T22
I heard an allertor before the 500 started
That’s a 5T or a 7T not an Allertor
Sounded like one.@@tornadof25
0:59 - 3:58: Siren going off 3:59 - 5:49: Deactivation!

I was kinda surprised when I first heard an FS&S 500-SHTT in a RUclips video.
they really named it "500-SHTT" we all know what word SHTT looks like
the rotator is SHTT
I need this for class teacher
This siren no Bull SH-TT
Sounds like 3t22
4:10 sound like Thunderbolt Chopper

it’s the rotating 2T22! has 10/12 port.
Its like the 3t22s younger sibling very cool
Nice! My video will be up tonight or tomorrow

It isn’t
its not anymore
If there was an I in the middle it would be a:
Federal Signal 500 SHITT !!!! 🤣🤣

Yeah
The federal signal brother of the Mobil directo
Is that a SD-10 in the back around?
Pretty sure from what I’ve see on google maps, it appears to be a FS model 7t on top of city hall. That’s what you hear before the 500.
