Power from 100% to 78% for a 22% drop. Watch mildly warm (not hot). Charged up a bit to 80% then reran test, stopping video at 30 min. Power from 80% to 64% for a 16% drop. Watch mildly warm (not hot). So approx. 1 hr video uses 36% power. EXTREME POWER SAVING TEST: Same configuration as above, charged to 100%. Put in Extreme Power Save from 6PM to 8AM next morning. Battery at 96%, a drop of 4% in 14 hours. Watch cold to touch. FULL LOAD TEST: This was an all day event starting at 8:30AM with WiFi, cellular and GPS on all day. Lots of shooting 1080p video clips and GPS tracking driving routes, as well as calls and data streaming of moving maps. At times watch got hot when doing BOTH fitness GPS tracking and 1080p video recording, all with full screen brightness. Watch hit 15% ‘battery low’ warning at 7:00 PM. That’s 10.5 hours continuous, high intensity use. At 12 hours, the watch dropped to 14% in regular (not power savings) mode. WIFI HOTSPOT TEST Outstanding! T-Mobile 4G faster than my Spectrum Cable speeds! Battery usage: Start @ 8:30 @ 95%, 9:00 @ 91%, 10:00 @ 86%, 10:30 @ 83%, 1:00 @ 70%, 8:00 @ 33%, stopped @ 10:30 @ 19%. That's full 14 hours from 95% to 19%. Watch screen off, WiFi and cellular on, of course, nothing else running. Watch cool to touch. RECHARGING TESTS Starting from 14% charged to 100% in 1:45 with WiFi, cellular, and GPS still on (14% @ 9:00, 35% @ 9:30, 72% @ 10:15, 100% @ 10:45). Starting from 13% charged to 100% in 1:50 with WiFi, cellular, and GPS still on (13% @ 7:00, 63% @ 8:00, 83% @ 8:30, 100% @ 8:50). So fully charging takes approx. 2 hours.
Yea, if you never use it as a watch, having a solid WiFi hotspot in a tiny case with extreme battery life is a welcomed alternate use. Great overall battery life. Well designed battery management it appears.
Thanks for a very detailed review of this excellent smartwatch. I think improvements like an LPTO 2 display to enable the watch to utilise a 1mhz to 60 or possibly 120mhz display also a louder speaker and better microphone and perhaps a curved display so it curves around your wrist. But even as it is it’s pretty amazing. I wonder if you can use google as the smart assistant on it

You can use the watch like a tiny phone. Just make sure your carrier and phone plan supports this watch/phone. Only GSM carriers are compatible, which is like AT&T or T-Mobile in the USA.
In bluetooth mode I understand you can't make and receive calls but will it at least show caller id ? Or is there an update by now that allows you bluetooth calls.

Unfortunately Bluetooth calling doesn't work on these anymore. There is an app with some connectivity but it's pretty limited. Apparently with older versions of Android they use to support Bluetooth calling but I missed the heyday of full Android smartwatch

I wish the manufacturers would make the bands to use any regular watchband (or even Apple bands, since cheaper ones are out there now). I personally like a metal clasp-style band on my watch, or an expanding metal band. Hate silicone bands...
This is a very unique design and the watch module itself doesn't have any way to connect with traditional bands. I think it is because of the size of this watch.
@@SWT It seems that it's just a matter of designing the band brackets. It's not just this one, a lot of smartwatches are like that. Somebody is going to figure out the market possibilities of using traditional watch band connections. But I'm a big silicone hater... ;-)
Ooh... I found videos on metal plating plastic at home... nickel plating the cradle and adding a stainless steel band sounds like a good experiment... I have to receive mine first... ;-)

You're probably looking at the best option here in the APPLLP MAX (or equivalent). You'll want a rectangular watch like this to see edge-to-edge text (a round one will either cut off the corners of the display or the text will be really small if you scale the app into a tiny square fitting within the circle). All of these support the Google Play Store and can tether to the Internet via WiFi or cellular data.

Excellent approaching what would be a good Wrist Assistant. But why ofset the band? Please center it and make wide bands for a wide wrist device, bands such as velcro hook & loop and bands with no buckle.
For right handed folks wearing it on the left arm, the watch is set back a bit to allow flexing of the wrist without hitting the side of the watch. Wit a velcro band it could be shoved further up the arm, but most likely it would slide down and present problems.
I'm talking about a wide (40-50mm) elastic velcro hook and loop band that could be tightened exactly to NOT move up or down on your wrist. The current stiff bands with their hole spacing stuck. Mine is always slipping around on my wrist and they are hard to put on and take off, always catching on unused holes.

Yea, it's pretty much like any mail-order business. With Aliexpress it is more like Amazon in that different companies sell through Aliexpress. Others like Banggood and TomTop are more like WalMart in that you deal with one company. They buy a bunch of watches from different vendors and sell them, just like WalMart buys and sells stuff. As you know Amazon generally lists things for sale that are "drop shipped" from a partner company. Only when it says "shipped by Amazon" to you know it's coming from Amazon. I generally recommend to be real careful with the different vendors on Aliexpress. Sometimes the prices are 'too good to be true', and you often end up with a similar but not exact product or you get your product, but not for several months. So I wouldn't recommend shopping on absolute lowest price and go with more established vendors to avoid hassles.
No, I don't have one. IF you can do it on an Android phone using Bluetooth or WiFi for connect, then it should work on a watch, especially one shaped like a small phone!
Esim sucks. Firstly your network has to support it, then you have to pay an extra subscription with your main subscription tariff to do what you are already doing on your main device but sharing the data, calls and texts between the two.

I wish I could, but they are just too new. I don't have an S999 to compare and sometimes the firmware between brands are way different. If I get an S999 I'll definitely do a comparison like I did with the LEMFO LEMT and TICWRIS MAX, which turned out to be way different even though they look identical.

There are many ways I personally use sharing apps of which you are spoilt for choice, I'm currently using "send anywhere app from playstore" but the choice is yours.
Like Michael says, there are lots of ways to transfer files. It's really cool when you use the charging wire. Simply tap the power level circle that appears on the watch and a page is open behind it where you can select "Transfer Files". upon doing that a folder should open on your computer for dragging and dropping because the watch is mounted like a thumb drive to your computer.

I don't think we will ever see dual SIM cards on a watch. On a watch? Very small market for that. They are all brand new and just starting to ship so hard to say what's up with your order. China is returning this week from an insanely long country wide 2 to 3 week holiday, so they'll start processing backorders shortly. You might have just gotten caught in that mess. If it hasn't moved out of 'processing' to 'shipped' in 3 or 4 more days, consider your options.
Have you got a clue, what i can do if the device is in a boot-loop. It doesnt start Android after Store updates. Is there a hidden reset Button somewhere?
Sadly, this watch isn't supported by the tech team so I don't have any help for you. When watches have two buttons, you can usually boot into safe mode, but with one button and no hidden reset, you might be stuck. One slim possibility is to run the battery all the way down until it's dead, then apply power and see if it will break out of boot-loop. Any techies out there with additional advice to offer?
If you download apps from the Google Playstore does it see this as an outdated version of Android? My concerns are: 1) When you a launch downloaded app it says this version of Android is not supported 2) Google pay 3) How long did the battery last you under moderate use? TIA
I got new ROM, now the watch is working again. But i have learned, that it always killes every app in the background, even if set in the settings. All apps like rotation controll, on screen buttons and so on gets killed... Is there a solution? Regards
Yes, I've noticed that too, and, so far, no solution. There's not a big effort to squash the bugs in Android 9 like there is in Android 10, so we may have to live with it the way it is.

They work with T-mobile, but it will not pair with your current phone sim. This means you have to get a separate phone number for the watch. I decided against that, as my Samsung watch and phone both ring when someone calls me. And no, it's not using Bluetooth calling, the watch rings like a separate phone but with the same number.

@@StormChild I did not keep the Jelly 2, I liked it but the Palm Phone was more of what I wanted, the screen is awesome on the Palm Palm and camera is decent for something that can fit in a wallet. I also thought the LOKMAT APPLLP screen was terrible as well as the camera, even though I wasn't concerned with cameras, people should know the camera area useless. Sending the APPLLP back also.

You bought a cheap pos chinese spyware gadget. They DO NOT update firmware, you cannot flash the OS its basically impossible. Get a unihertze tank mini and make your own strap. Get a full feature mini smartphone and make your own straps is the best. I recommend the tank because it has a range finder and its waterproof and built from rubber and metal.

Do Not Disturb. Usually it means you won't be interrupted with notifications and the twist wrist to see time might be turned off. Each watch implements it differently.

This one they are trying to find the sweet spot size between a large watch and a small phone. The Ticwris MAX S is slightly smaller, but the bands aren't removable so it's strictly a watch.
there appears to be allen key type screws either side of the strap, not sure of the size though, a 1mm key is too small yet a 1.5 seems slightly too big and I dont have imperial around that size

Et même si la spec ne pose pas de problème pour certains utilisateurs, il y a quand même 2 gros problème avec cette montre. 1. Par défaut, la mise en veille est par défaut de 15 secondes. Vous le changez en 1 min, ça fonctionne une fois. Mais par le suite, l'écran se met en veille au bout de 5 secondes. 2. Il faut systématiquement appuyer sur le bouton de droit pour activer l'écran, pas de double tape sur l'écran, pas de l'activation en secouant la montre. 3. Même certains programmes de bases ne sont pas capable de faire la rotation portrait et paysage. C'est franchement pas un produit abouti. Très honnêtement, l'idée est très bonne, mais alors à l'usage + l'arnaque de certaines boutiques, c'est juste lamentable.

@@SWT There is a very clever little open source code/app than can be compiled onto most Android phones. It then does “diabetes maths” using a person’s glucose level, from their continuous glucose monitor, the amount of insulin already on board, and carbohydrates present. Also, whether or not exercise is planned, or whether the person is fixing up a low glucose event. The phone can then control some insulin pumps via Bluetooth, increasing or turning on the insulin infused. It is revolutionary and brilliant, and far better than what is on offer commercially.....
They are trying to pack with more memory onboard and let people transfer stuff to/from these watches via WiFi or charging wire. Very few have microSD card these days. Apple Watch doesn't have one. Neither does FitBit or Samsung. So lotta big misses out there.
@@SWT agreed. A lot of big misses. But SD cards are cheaper, modifyable, AND transferable. It is literally a money grab technique. I cant buy this watch because I want to use it as an audiobook player, but it will only hold ONE series and take FOREVER to transfer everytime. Let alone when im in the middle of driving!

The band not being in the middle is a good design choice. Makes it so you're not bumping in to it when you move your hand up

A lot of Smartwatch does that already like T55+, X8, T500, T800, etc And those are cheaper than the one on the video

The only ones that claim some level of serious waterproofing are watches like the S08 Android 7 or LEM14 Android 10 watches.

Excellent approaching what would be a good Wrist Assistant. But why ofset the band? Please center it and make wide bands for a wide wrist device, bands such as velcro hook & loop and bands with no buckle.
For right handed folks wearing it on the left arm, the watch is set back a bit to allow flexing of the wrist without hitting the side of the watch. Wit a velcro band it could be shoved further up the arm, but most likely it would slide down and present problems.
I'm talking about a wide (40-50mm) elastic velcro hook and loop band that could be tightened exactly to NOT move up or down on your wrist. The current stiff bands with their hole spacing stuck. Mine is always slipping around on my wrist and they are hard to put on and take off, always catching on unused holes.

Yea, it's pretty much like any mail-order business. With Aliexpress it is more like Amazon in that different companies sell through Aliexpress. Others like Banggood and TomTop are more like WalMart in that you deal with one company. They buy a bunch of watches from different vendors and sell them, just like WalMart buys and sells stuff. As you know Amazon generally lists things for sale that are "drop shipped" from a partner company. Only when it says "shipped by Amazon" to you know it's coming from Amazon.
I generally recommend to be real careful with the different vendors on Aliexpress. Sometimes the prices are 'too good to be true', and you often end up with a similar but not exact product or you get your product, but not for several months. So I wouldn't recommend shopping on absolute lowest price and go with more established vendors to avoid hassles.

No, I don't have one. IF you can do it on an Android phone using Bluetooth or WiFi for connect, then it should work on a watch, especially one shaped like a small phone!

you could probably 3D print a nice case for it, based on the wrist-strap dimensions. Otherwise look at Sugru so that you can 'mold your own' :)

There's another brand called the S999, but I haven't been able to get one yet to compare if they are identical.

Esim sucks. Firstly your network has to support it, then you have to pay an extra subscription with your main subscription tariff to do what you are already doing on your main device but sharing the data, calls and texts between the two.

I wish I could, but they are just too new. I don't have an S999 to compare and sometimes the firmware between brands are way different. If I get an S999 I'll definitely do a comparison like I did with the LEMFO LEMT and TICWRIS MAX, which turned out to be way different even though they look identical.

There are many ways I personally use sharing apps of which you are spoilt for choice, I'm currently using "send anywhere app from playstore" but the choice is yours.
Like Michael says, there are lots of ways to transfer files. It's really cool when you use the charging wire. Simply tap the power level circle that appears on the watch and a page is open behind it where you can select "Transfer Files". upon doing that a folder should open on your computer for dragging and dropping because the watch is mounted like a thumb drive to your computer.

I don't think we will ever see dual SIM cards on a watch. On a watch? Very small market for that. The extra memory makes a whole lot of sense, in fact, this JUST came out: TF card support in a new Android smartwatch. If you relax a bit about needing dual SIMs, this just might work for you, at least for a couple of years while you wait.

They are all brand new and just starting to ship so hard to say what's up with your order. China is returning this week from an insanely long country wide 2 to 3 week holiday, so they'll start processing backorders shortly. You might have just gotten caught in that mess. If it hasn't moved out of 'processing' to 'shipped' in 3 or 4 more days, consider your options.
Have you got a clue, what i can do if the device is in a boot-loop. It doesnt start Android after Store updates. Is there a hidden reset Button somewhere?
Sadly, this watch isn't supported by the tech team so I don't have any help for you. When watches have two buttons, you can usually boot into safe mode, but with one button and no hidden reset, you might be stuck. One slim possibility is to run the battery all the way down until it's dead, then apply power and see if it will break out of boot-loop. Any techies out there with additional advice to offer?
If you download apps from the Google Playstore does it see this as an outdated version of Android?
My concerns are:
1) When you a launch downloaded app it says this version of Android is not supported

I got new ROM, now the watch is working again. But i have learned, that it always killes every app in the background, even if set in the settings. All apps like rotation controll, on screen buttons and so on gets killed... Is there a solution?

Yes, I've noticed that too, and, so far, no solution. There's not a big effort to squash the bugs in Android 9 like there is in Android 10, so we may have to live with it the way it is.

What network service did you use
AT&T or T-Mobile in USA. GSM based networks are supported.
They work with T-mobile, but it will not pair with your current phone sim. This means you have to get a separate phone number for the watch. I decided against that, as my Samsung watch and phone both ring when someone calls me. And no, it's not using Bluetooth calling, the watch rings like a separate phone but with the same number.

@@StormChild I did not keep the Jelly 2, I liked it but the Palm Phone was more of what I wanted, the screen is awesome on the Palm Palm and camera is decent for something that can fit in a wallet. You bought a cheap pos chinese spyware gadget. They DO NOT update firmware, you cannot flash the OS its basically impossible. Get a unihertze tank mini and make your own strap. Get a full feature mini smartphone and make your own straps is the best. I recommend the tank because it has a range finder and its waterproof and built from rubber and metal.

According to the GSM bands listed on watch specs it will. They match the ones on Verizon email I got; verifying if it would work.

Do Not Disturb. Usually it means you won't be interrupted with notifications and the twist wrist to see time might be turned off. Each watch implements it differently.

This one they are trying to find the sweet spot size between a large watch and a small phone. The Ticwris MAX S is slightly smaller, but the bands aren't removable so it's strictly a watch.

The watch module itself fits snuggly in a wrist dock. The straps on the dock are not removable.
there appears to be allen key type screws either side of the strap, not sure of the size though, a 1mm key is too small yet a 1.5 seems slightly too big and I dont have imperial around that size

Et même si la spec ne pose pas de problème pour certains utilisateurs, il y a quand même 2 gros problème avec cette montre.
1. Par défaut, la mise en veille est par défaut de 15 secondes. Vous le changez en 1 min, ça fonctionne une fois. Mais par le suite, l'écran se met en veille au bout de 5 secondes.
2. Il faut systématiquement appuyer sur le bouton de droit pour activer l'écran, pas de double tape sur l'écran, pas de l'activation en secouant la montre.
3. Même certains programmes de bases ne sont pas capable de faire la rotation portrait et paysage. C'est franchement pas un produit abouti.
Très honnêtement, l'idée est très bonne, mais alors à l'usage + l'arnaque de certaines boutiques, c'est juste lamentable.

@@SWT There is a very clever little open source code/app than can be compiled onto most Android phones. It then does “diabetes maths” using a person’s glucose level, from their continuous glucose monitor, the amount of insulin already on board, and carbohydrates present. Also, whether or not exercise is planned, or whether the person is fixing up a low glucose event. The phone can then control some insulin pumps via Bluetooth, increasing or turning on the insulin infused. It is revolutionary and brilliant, and far better than what is on offer commercially.....

They are trying to pack with more memory onboard and let people transfer stuff to/from these watches via WiFi or charging wire. Very few have microSD card these days. Apple Watch doesn't have one. Neither does FitBit or Samsung. So lotta big misses out there.
@@SWT agreed. A lot of big misses. But SD cards are cheaper, modifyable, AND transferable. It is literally a money grab technique. I cant buy this watch because I want to use it as an audiobook player, but it will only hold ONE series and take FOREVER to transfer everytime. Let alone when im in the middle of driving!

I recommend putting in a 3rd party app that allows you to do that. My favorite is "Floating Toucher" because you can activate it over any screen. It requires a little configuration to add the volume control, but it's pretty easy. You'll find a copy of it here: tinyurl.com/androidwatches
