Really appreciate how you recorded this without cutting out the audio, but then didn't publish it until she had released the song for streaming. Gotta love someone who respects an artist and when they want to release music.
I feel Folklore was thought as a film and the lakes it's just the extra scene at the end of the credit, i believe that because of the various references in the tracks (like exile, the 1, hoax) and for the love triangle she create it... anyway, your reactions are always on point, i love watching them!
and William Wordsworth was one of the more importants poets of the romanticism in England and this art movement is lowkey based on emotions, nature, solitude, individualism
This is her and Joes calming place away from the paparazzi away from the crowds that watch her every move.. Taylor’s poetry flows here like never before! Love the song.. all of the folklore album is Taylor’s best vocals and the instrumentals take you on a journey ..the album is a masterpiece x 10 .
I think this song is so romantic, when the music swells in & out I keep imagining butterflies🦋 fluttering up and down. I can also see my crush's feet next to mine outside in nature lying on the grass. I'm dying lol😭
If you think about it. She pulls back the music when/after speaking about her muse. joe and her private relationship. That part of her life is her safe place.
To me the music could referring to the noise that the world and the media in general makes and like you said the verses could represents her safe place
LOVED your comment on it sounding like an Impressionist painting. The plucking and little instruments layered the way they are could very well represent the brush strokes of the art period. The plucks remind me of how the paintings are made usually of little dots rather than perfect strokes, a more "real" way to paint life, which is Taylor's aspiration in this song. VERY beautifully made and a FANTASTIC cap to the already wonderful album
This song is so beautiful! I agree with you Nina when you said that Taylor is just going to walk away into a beautiful place. Hopefully not soon! And maybe to "The Lakes" which is in England. I know her Mom, who Taylor is extremely close to, has been dealing with breast cancer for several years and now has a brain tumor. I know that Taylor must be dealing with that daily and that someday she will feel the time is right to disappear and that she will have Joe by her side. I think a lot of the Folklore album comes from her pain, not just from the Scott Borchettas in her world but her sadness watching and worrying about her Mom. I think you reviewed Taylor's song "Soon You'll Get Better" from her Lover album? But on a positive note, she's a strong woman who has found her voice in the last couple of years and I am so proud of her! Folklore, in the middle of all this division in our country and the struggles with a pandemic, has been a lifesaver for all her fans and hopefully for her. Thank you, Taylor. Love your videos, Nina! You are a classy very professional lady!
Thank you. I was actually trying to find some good instrumentation analysis on this for a homework XD and this helped me hear which instrument enters where SO MUCH BETTER. Also on spot commentary.
Anyone else feel like the lyric about some "name dropping sleeze tell me what are my words worth" has to do with her issue with not having the rights to her old music?
Nina, I love your videos, can you make a "Dedicated Side B" by Carly Rae Jepsen reaction? I just love how you pay attention to the music itself, not just the lyrics.
Great reaction!! You were confused a bit with the lyrics there lol but your interpretation is right on, definitely agree with you on the meaning of the song. And yes, Taylor is not afraid to get the dictionary out, after all spelling is fun ahahah ❤️
When I first heard this song, it immediately reminded me of Norman F*****g Rockwell by Lana Del Rey, and that’s because it was also produced by Jack Antonoff! If you get the chance, I think you should most definitely do a reaction to that album. It’s so good!
I wonder if she’s trying to mirror the ideas of the Romantics. Such as Wordsworth, Keats, Coleridge... they rejected the advancements of technology and focused solely on the awe inspiring scenery of the lakes (Lake District in England) especially Keats.🤔
Many thanks for brilliant review once again Nina, my safe place! Tromso.. 300 miles above the arctic circle, not in my head really exists and away from cars, buses, insane crowds, in the middle of nature, mountains and fjords and of course mother nature herself the northern lights, no better place to listen to this album.
Hi! Could you please make a reaction video on REO BROTHERS, they are a family band from the Philippines. They are known as the BEATLES of the Philippines and they make a lot of renditions of classic bands. 🥰
At first I thought it was a pug head next to you...JUST THE HEAD!?!?THEN my senses rushed in....sorry....THE LAKES HAVE BLOWN AWAY MY SENSES INTO THE OBLIVION.
I suggest checking Genius website. It will give you an insight and explanation of the song's lyrics. Here is a direct: genius.com/Taylor-swift-the-lakes-lyrics loved your reaction! :)
Omg Nina!! We need you to react to Mariah Carey's live performance of Vision of Love with the original whistle not sung since 2005 and her song Close My eyes today in Good Morning America. BTW in my opinion Taylor's strongest album since Red, more mature and reminds me the Fearless and debut Taylor for a bit

Yup🥰 I subscribed for just that alone
I was just binge watching The Lakes reactions and yours popped up. I'm soooooo happy.
She never dissapoints 😁

They said this song is about The Lake District and Wordsworth is actually the name of one the poets died at the lake (William Wordsworth)
omg her mind
and William Wordsworth was one of the more importants poets of the romanticism in England and this art movement is lowkey based on emotions, nature, solitude, individualism

When I listen to Taylor's songs, some musical instruments go unnoticed until Nina emphasizes them. I LOVE IT!!!!

It's like she's climbing the mountain over the course of the song
I know you’re also from the Uk but this songs about The Lake District in Cumbria. “ those Windermere peaks”
I love that you’re acknowledging the instruments! It’s crazy good
I hope she nominated to AOTY
This is a master piece she surely will
But the grammy's will snub her again ugh
I don't have a name it’s her most critically acclaimed record there’s no reason for grammys to snub her
if she win AOTY (for her 3rd win) she is a cultural reset
Brendi Abelian that’s sonuds good
But I actually want to see After hours ör Future Nostalgia
