Did that last year on my old trusty hornet, same as you to Tintagel, I had left from Bath that morning after Isle of Man to Bath day before so was getting a little worn by that point, but that road woke me up just great.
I had to stop watching at four minutes purely because it looks so stunning I don't want to spoil it for myself before I venture west to ride this road. Thoroughly enjoyable four minutes, though!
Hey thanks for the most excellent memories you just brought rushing back. I had a MG Midget 1500 when i lived in minehead, in the early 90s and use to just go on that road for a jolly, get to lynmouth and zip back, great views but also excellent perspective of corners so you had some very clear views to overtake if need be. I use to potter through the trees on the toll road, just the best with tut roof down on a day like you had, nice one mr jiffy and thanks for the post :)
1981 on a KH250 two up dragging pegs and flat stick ,best memory of riding that road ,I was born in wiliton and have family in porlock ,I have ridden that route on all my bikes but the one on the KH will remain by far the best :)
great drive, went up there last summer and the roads around there are fantastic, tyre squeal in a two tonne landy on that hair pin though is scary, but the views are fantastic especially across to wales and across Dartmoor. perfect vehicle in my eyes is a MK I escort, pub lunch at top of countisbury, down to lynmouth, across to porlock then down the toll road and back up and over to lynmouth............ weird route but a great day driving!!
Flipping iPad! New Road, when I lived in UK used to have hols in Porlock and the old mans banger wouldn't make it up Porlock Hill so had to use the back road, had a great view over Porlock, it was a quieter road, and some wicked corners!
Why on earth did you leave off by far and away the best part - the drive down Countisbury Hill into Lynmouth? Oh yes, there are two toll roads - one from Porlock and one from Porlock Weir. The secret of getting cars up Porlock Hill (one in four gradient on a VERY sharp left hand bend is to drop into second gear at the bottom - and stay there.
Really got rather cheesed off with the constant stream of F words. Is this really necessary. In the end I switched the sound off. The video isn't bad at all.
That was one of mine also, then there is the Wrynose and all the others in the lake districk, 2 years ago I had the pleasure of riding the Rockie Mts and up Pikes Peak Col 14000 ft plus.BTW I live in Ohio now , if you ever make it to the USA look me up.WOW At 2.40 I just saw some of Donald Trumps bed mates on that road.baa baa
Done this route many times in my car and on my Harley in sunshine and rain and one time in April when it snowed at the top . The point at 1.12seconds bloody tight hairpin try doing that on a Softail not so easy I tell you
This would have been a lovely video if you dropped the language and attitude,,,grow up and use your skills wisely,,such a shame,,why dont you delete and start again..I cannot link you at all now
fantastic! my dad's hillman imp died on porlock hill back in the 70's it was a great adventure for young girl, not for him.

Great road, no offence but you should take a look at a video on here by Steve Hill of the same ride and maybe pick up a few tips on riding it smoothly
Wishlist add for a speedo display, although one without numbers to prevent any self-incrimination lol
I might be free this coming Saturday bud
Be careful kids, never play with swear words or scooters.
