I like this show because it has the feel of all the usual cooking competition shows, but the chefs and ingredients (and Pidgin) are Local. and the dishes are things people in Hawaiʻi are familiar with or can appreciate for their unique recipes. Good fun show!

I❤ love that you’re both wearing leis, beautiful leis that presents and reminds everyone the meaning, truly meaning of Hawai’i to carry on because that is “ALOHA” is kindness, tenderness, unity, harmony, gracious, pleasantness, humility, modesty, patience, and perseverance . Blessings!

on the real tho, Chef Mari had this one in the bag from the first minute of both rounds... when she grabbed the gochujang for the "umami" I was like "okay she can add a Korean twist to Carbonara," and then the twist ingredient was KIMCHI?!?!?! IN THE BAG!!!!! but I was wrong... I appreciated what Chef Keoni said "at the end of the day, it all comes down to FLAVOR" also, kudos to Chef Kale for paying homage to Grandma!
