My thoughts with the prologue is that Wilfried has next to no one who wants him to be the final decision maker for the dutchy. There is Lamprecht and Wilfried's retainers younger than Lamprecht minus the name sworn. Wilfried's new name sworn, Oswald and everyone considered part of the Veronica faction that are still breathing in Ehrenfest want Veronica to be brought back and to be in charge with Wilfried being a rubber stamp. While I can understand the polygamy of this world to an extent the norms of my upbringing gives red flags to the idea of marrying someone two years older than your own children. It is also sad that no one seems to get why Rosemyne has a issue this marriage versus her own. Rosemyne has known and accepted that a political marriage was a given but is a romantic when it comes to other's relationships, everyone else should get a fairy tail ending but she does not care about her own situation. Lastly, while opinions can differ I do not find this volume boring and meetings give so much insight to other characters and is what gives this story such fantastic worldbuilding. Without meetings we do not get Charlotte's tearing apart of all the mistakes made by the archducal adults which was glorious and shows how much potential she has as an archduchess or first wife. She has earned through her own merit to be front stage going forward, personally I want Ortwin to invite her to a tea party and realize her value as a connection to Rosemyne on top of her mountain of good qualities. Here's hoping the blessings she receives next year make her understood as the overlooked diamond in the rough and courted by someone who acknowledges her value and falls for her at the same time.
Once again thanking you for making these It’s so great to have a community for bookworm No one in my real life has even heard of this story so it’s really nice to hear others talk about it:)
With as many meetings as this volume had, boy did it have a lot of shocking moments compared to all others. The archducal family meeting, the leisgangs, Brunhilde’s proposal, the stuff with Wilfried, Clarissa. It’s endless the bombs that were dropped in this volume. Will say my favorite part was when Charlotted called out everyone. I was so mad on Rozemyne’s behalf that when Charlotte spoke up I cheered out loud and was clapping in joy.
I found it enlightening that Judith's dad had no idea that she was so praised by Bonifatius while the Giebe was extremely well informed. The concept of informing your underlings of what is going on just does not seem to have caught on yet.
In the Gunther vs Clarissa story i got so nervous for Gunther... I respect him for showing no fear in the clash, but he will be in such danger if he keeps iritating nobles in such way.
People with mana in their bodies must exist outside of Yurgenschmidt too. The Adalgisa arrangement proofs that. The whole Lanzenave situation isn't spoilers by the way, since the relevant information was revealed all the way back in part 4 volume 8. The whole reason why the Adalgisa arrangement was made, was to make the Lanzenave crown princes able to gain a schtappe. What would they need a schtappe for, if they had no mana? Furthermore the person sent to Yurgenschmit to make those Adalgisa babies are women. With the mana capacity of a child coming almost exclusively from the mother and the way that mana capacities must be close for any conception to happen in the first place, we can quite securely conclude that Lanzenave does have at least some people with plenty of mana. Not to mention that the mana capacity beast Ferdinand is also a seed of Adalgisa, so barring divine intervention, his mother must also have been ont he level of a greater duchy's archducal family. That being said though, without easy access to feystones, they almost asuredly have only exceedingly few mana draining magic tools, which means that they probably don't have all that many children born with mana survive into adulthood. They would still have access to the feystones left behind from a person dying, plus whatever they can trade for through Ahrensbach, so there should be at least enough around to maintain the royal family and an elite cadre of royal guards, I would expect. Plus maybe some mana wielders so weak they can survive the devouring without any magic tools or mana draining fruits. They wouldn't amount to much, even when compared to laynobles, but it would be something at least. If there's anyone who can make good use of low quality feystones, like the ones from Shumil, it'd be the people with barely any mana. Then again, they might be using the low quality feystones as a source material to create higher quality ones out of. Thanks to engagement feystones, we know that it's possible to fuse feystones together, to combine their characteristics together (i.e. add missing elements to a feystone, by fusing one with the desired element into it). Who knows, maybe fusing enough low quality feystones together, could create a higher quality stone and the only reason why this isn't done in Yurgenschmidt is, because with the abundance of feystones of any quality, there is really no need to go through the trouble and effort. After all they weren't even aware that shattered feystones could be re-fused before Rozemyne did it... or more likely any individual who made the same discovery, kept the knowledge out of public circulation, since to have an advantage over their peers.
Around the 55:00 mark you bring up how they need to have the prayer memorized and regularly have offered mana to the Gods so them not redoing their divine protections at the time makes sense - this isn't entirely accurate IMO. Since one can obtain protection from Gods they don't pray to through actions and pure favor (as seen with Damuel) for Elvira and offering mana through prayer to the foundation for Bonifatius. Them not participating should have been mostly due to a lack of immediate confidence on their parts. As for why they couldn't repeat the prayer like Angelica did with Stenluke, I would imagine that it would cancel the protection ritual due to different mana sources calling upon the Gods. Angelica alone would be able to make it work because Stenluke is an extension of her own mana.
1:12:08 i think this kinda explains why Yurgenschmidt is a perfect circle. The gates can act like portals that move you to other locations, so each country is basically its own separated bubble. I was always confused about how you could make a country a perfect circle, because if youre thinking like our world, that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
My question for when Hartmut is leading the temple children in prayer, what did he make Rozemyne the Goddess of? And was she under the pantheon of wind under the goddess of wisdom Or fire because she was born in the summer?
This might be long😂. Thank you so much for doing the live readings leading up to this. It's been so much fun to listen and join into the chats. Even on the rewatch, they brighten my day so much. I have to feel for myne. She gets heaped with so much work, but at least Charlotte is finding her voice for her sister's sake. Winfreid ( misspelled) feels as he has so much to prove. The family is being torn apart by external family. Side note: i feel as though the goddess of time likes messing with damuel. Mynes bio dad has nerves and a resolve of steel.
no, if anything she's helping Damuel by keeping him single till Philine comes of age/close to/has enough mana/scholar skills/etc to Dunk propose to him
Ah, poor, poor Lamprecht... I mean, he's likely a bit better than your run-of-the-mill archknight, but when compared with the rest of his family, be it his father, mother, siblings or grandfather, he falls so, so short, it's pretty sad :p. PS : I agree that Florencia's pregnancy isn't something to celebrate, the timing is so, so off and once again I'm reminded of, despite how desperate Sylvester's fan base is to deny it, how Sylvester is a pathetic Aub, something that will be once again reminded in the very volume following this one, in the epilogue, when Hildebrand's mother reveals who ( likely ) actually did what Rozemyne had worked so ( well, not too much actually, considering how pathetic her opponent was, but his catastrophic personality and utter stupidity made it into a hellish suffering :p ) hard to make happen ( seriously, after all that, Sylvester, you were willing to just keep your mouth shut and just comply ? Really ? And you're even so shameless that you bragged afterwards... Wildumb definitely didn't fall far from the tree :p ). PPS : I'm sorry about Wildumb, but he's not a " good kid ". His circumstances aren't even half as bad as his fans want to believe they are. I mean, he's supported ( to say the least, it's more rocket-launched ) by his family, everything is served to him directly on a silver platter, etc., but every time he needs to make a choice, he systematically follows the advice that are the most comfortable for his ego. Besides, he doesn't really work that hard, I mean he believes he does, his retainers too, but all these people drowned into any water glass ( For instance, who exactly, save Wildumb, plays around in the RA ? Even when he plays with his " friends ", he's literally the only one who plays, the others work ;) ). A " busy " Wildumb isn't just a full holiday week for Rozemyne, it's even a relaxing stroll in the park for Charlotte. Anyway, no matter his circumstances, Wildumb couldn't have been really competent, because he isn't the " good kid " that people desperately want to see in him ( he's fundamentally egotistic and he's not even supposed to be a kid anymore, he's literally the only kid out there, there's literally nobody else his age, or even a few years younger, that behaves so much as a XXI° century occidental child than him ) and because support, no matter how good it could be, isn't enough for him. He needs extremely skilled and utterly benevolent people to make pretty much anything in his stead and remembering him of his shortcomings 24/7. It's wrong to make as if he wasn't supported to an unbelievable degree, if he wasn't hugely supported, he would be dead since years, he hasn't what it takes to socially survive to his society, not even as a commoner, let alone as an AC... Fundamentally, Wildumb isn't that far from his cousin Dumblinde, he simply benefits from the simple exposition bias, way more exposing time and the kindness of our beloved narrator. He even has way better circumstances than Dumblinde, but nobody pities her when she's more pitiable...
So, with the current arc having Leisengang being the antagonists I've been seen a ton of people hating them and calling them just as bad as Veronica and her faction. People tend to side with the point of view that we watch a media from and because Rozemyne is on good terms with Sylvester and sees his best readers tend to like him too. BUT Sylvester is a TERRIBLE Aub and has been for virtually all of his reign. Even Bonifatius says he only just that Winter started doing the bare minimum of his job instead of pushing it off to Ferdinand. For most of his life Sylvester has ducked all his work and pushed it off to Ferdinand. Push off managing faction politics to Elvira instead of taking a second wife. Pushed off providing mana to Ferdinand and his retirement age relatives instead of expanding the Archducal family too. Ignore all the calls for help from his giebes slowly being starved out. Did nothing to punish his mother who keeps murdering her faction opponents and instead actively protects her and his uncle out of a misplaced sense of filial loyalty. And even now try dump the consequences for getting his wife pregnant without mana providers onto Groshel. Just because he is nice from Rozemyne's point of view doesn't mean he is from anyone elses and doesn't mean Liesengang even SHOULD support him. If Rozemyne didn't have magic main character knowledge to reshape the course of history he would simply be a catastrophically bad ruler. Just like he father was too who let Veronica do as she pleased for decades. Liesengang from their point of view and experiences are 100% correct to not like, trust, or support the current Archducal family due to their incompetence and selfishness. Rozemyne, the incredibly biased and unnoble person she is, happens to like and support them which is their only saving grace. The Leisengang faction is likely just a rather normal group of nobles made bitter from a lifetime of suffering under terrible and cruel rulers trying to get out from under them. They aren't saints, but nor are they self destructive narcissist like Veronica who would burn down her own duchy to hold power.
Totally agree and i love the biased point of view since it makes me question a loooot. This same biased point of view, made us thinks Ferdi was helping Rozy by getting her adopted. But as he said, for the good of the country and his duchy he was willing to puppet her (he didnt need to in the end, and learnt a lot with her but still). We know he still think about it and feels bad, but if Rozy didnt have a "worse" noble to make Ferdi look "decent", she might have never trusted him that much. And this snowballs with all the rest, Karstedt being cute dad (still scheming and listening to everything Ferdi says) with her and Syl' being the annoying big brother let us want to keep them close and protected. While they're actually either avoiding work, not taking matters in their own hands, or sometimes clueless (ex: Rozy bad female side education or common sense knowledge etc). I think the biased pov helps us be tricked by everyone's intention and hate them / love them just for not being villain, and that's how we actually work irl too, so i really like it.
25:20 I get it that you were beeping out the spoilers but... coming right after you were shittalking Wilfried it kinda sounded like you snapped and were cursing him out lmao.
I’m so happy that so many of my comments were used. I’d also like to sincerely apologize for the amount of times I typed “sh!t.” In my passion for AoB, my prose tend to include a primetime network TV level of swearing.😅
I had just finished re-reading all the previous volumes of Bookworm.. and then I realized that there was something wrong with Part5 volume 4's color illustration. Pretty sure Damuel and Angelica didn't join Rozemyne in the trip to Kirnberger... so it caught my attention why they're suddenly there in the illustration 😅
@@TheChatteringMagpi hmm.. my only guess is that the editor didn't do a final check? It's either that or Suzuki sensei was so used to having Angelica and Damuel guard Rozemyne in her trips that she drew them out of habbit? 🤷♀️🤷♀️
I felt it was more foreshadowing that ahrensbach is going to cause more trouble. My current theory for the gutre is that the gutre is simply the book divine instrument made with the shtapp. It requires a proper image in your head to make which was done by the zhent allowing the chosen heir to channel mana into the gutre to learn its form, much like rozemyne did to learn to make the trident. The backup method in my theory, in case of rapid deaths, is something we’ve known about since before the trident. It’s the temple instruments that allowed myne to create the divine instruments herself and so it’s likely that the Bible is key to learning to make one from scratch. I have theories on the process but those are pure speculation from single sentences interspersed through the books.
yep Lestilaut wanted to get the schumils for his sister Lestilaut wanting to save Rozemyne from her engagement (also his own love for her) Heshitz "saving" Ferdinand from the temple and engaging him to a woman who looks and acts just like the woman who abused him daily growing up Clarissa's invasion p5v5 redacted for spoilers
25:30 apparently it was spoilers Also: ow my ears. There had to have been a better bleep Also also: I am genuinely curious how Bonifatius would react to hearing Rozemyne's true origin.
Also also also: the hee hee hoo breathing is called the Lamaze technique. It's what they teach mothers to do during childbirth. It apparently relaxes the mother and reduces the perception of pain.
What would stop bonifatius from adopting myne and getting her back to ADC rank if she was demoted to archnoble? Also, shes way too important to way too many ppl countrywide to just shove her into the whitetower, and as an archnoble she would be snatched away regardless. Sylvester gains a lot by her being in his duchy, and would lose tremendously if she was removed in any way.
given that none of bonifatius's kids are ADC I just assumes that if you were an ADC you get to keep that title, but unless you are the archduke's kid (adopted or not) you won't be considered an ADC
@@firefox30570 Karstedt was an ADC so that there could be a male heir. Georgine was raised by Veronica to rival his claim. When Sylvester was born Karstedt was demoted to archnoble, before Karstedt would have taken the ADC course
@@firefox30570 I think karstedt is ADC but was demoted by Veronica and Hirschur was his retainer. That's why she became a Sovereignty professor because she was disappointed in arducal couple at that time, which is Veronica.
I agree that this volume was boring and away a lot of set up and nothing really happened. Although I expect all of these events are foreshadowing for something.
I know there are some bleeped out spoilers but just can't get passed Willfried has had so MANY chances and the backwards slide is just ugh! Maybe it's my personal history but unless he is playing D4 political chess nope. Also I thought that the other countries entered through the gates through teleports so the sand was always surrounds yogurt land wasn't the decay of the other countries. Plus with Ferdinand's birth mother coming from another country to try and make high mana "seeds" would mean the people have some mana in them. So basically I'm over here being the "I'm connecting the dots!" me
About the country gates, you're absolutely correct. They can't see the other countries when they look out beyond the walls. The other countries are beyond the doors and connected to Yogurtland by magic circles.
You guys give Ferdinand far too little credit. It is obviously not a bluff nor the truth. It’s a half bluff! He stated that the recording would delete if not played within the hidden room in his old estate. The bluff is that it had to be played in that specific hidden room. Hidden rooms are made with mana and so it’s feasible the mad scientist has a circle that would activate if not in a room created by and permeated with certain mana. That mana being Omni-elemental mana. Upon activation that circle would expunge the mana in the recording device, thus deleting the messages. Meaning Rozemyne could have played it in any of her hidden rooms or an old Ferdinand room. This is my overly complicated theory.
Every time you mention a German-esque name I have to take a moment to appreciate how your completely butchered pronunciation is different from my completely butchered pronunciation AND original Japanese completely butchered pronunciation. German bookworms must be having a stroke
Either Charlotte need to talk no jutsu Wilfred or Rozemyne needs to make more japanese fans and give them to any and all involved parties 😂 But in all seriousness I hope Wilfred can bounce back from this.
@@TheChatteringMagpi Don't be, I have a bad habit of listening to everything at almost max volume... It's just that some elevator music (library music?) could be more "elegant"
5-5 was pretty outstanding. Lot of drama with Wilfred, who is a bit of an incompetent dipshit, but only compared to Rozemyne, Ferdinand, and even Charlotte. He really was handicapped by his shitty grandma and her faction. At this point he should just aim to be city lord type ruler. The greatest aspect of 5-5 is how much of Rozemyne’s decisions stem from her concern for Ferdinand. You realize just how vulnerable he is and how dangerous Rozemyne could become if something did happen. A true ticking time bomb with all the holy powers she could unleash if she were really cornered.

Once again thanking you for making these
It’s so great to have a community for bookworm
No one in my real life has even heard of this story so it’s really nice to hear others talk about it:)
I was confused about that beeping because it could mean two things then I watch later and I got my suspicions confirmed that it was forking spoilers
Hartmut would destroy the world to protect his Saint--well, everyone besides those she loves/values, cuz he's an ATTENTIVE simp.
I would say Hartmut goes beyond simp to dedicated apostle and worshiper😂
Fair assessment. LOL@@constancestinson3918
the thumbnail 🤣🤣 loved that side story
she just went and did a cross century to basically plant face first to the gate
32:00 The way Rozemyne freaks the F out was so damn funny 😂😂😂😂
Agreed!!!
(For the prologue) its funny how we get a photo for miss vail. But her face doesn’t look vary harsh.
Motherhood has softened her
Oh woah i forgot that commoners dont know about Nobel hierarchy so gunter seeing other nobels grovel must have been something else😮
Nice work! I really love your videos, you make me really appreciate Ascendance of a Bookworm and its community!
Happy to hear that! :)
I found it enlightening that Judith's dad had no idea that she was so praised by Bonifatius while the Giebe was extremely well informed. The concept of informing your underlings of what is going on just does not seem to have caught on yet.
More Bookworm ! More volumes ! Bigger chapters ! More pages !!
AHHHHH YESSS IVE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THESE VIDEOS
8:02 Dang it! Now I want one!
This was great! Thanks for the video! 😁
Glad you enjoyed it!
I finally have time to watch this XD the Wi-Fi sucks we’re I’m at always fun to do these every time
Thanks for joining us Noemie!
Graussam pulled a Pettigrew
The god of Chaos played a gremlin trick on Rozemyne, Hartmut and Ehrenfest as a whole that day...
My question for when Hartmut is leading the temple children in prayer, what did he make Rozemyne the Goddess of? And was she under the pantheon of wind under the goddess of wisdom Or fire because she was born in the summer?
1:18:14 I like my odds
Bring it on fandom
This might be long😂.
Thank you so much for doing the live readings leading up to this. It's been so much fun to listen and join into the chats. Even on the rewatch, they brighten my day so much.
I have to feel for myne. She gets heaped with so much work, but at least Charlotte is finding her voice for her sister's sake. Winfreid ( misspelled) feels as he has so much to prove. The family is being torn apart by external family.
Side note: i feel as though the goddess of time likes messing with damuel.
Mynes bio dad has nerves and a resolve of steel.
I'm glad you're enjoying the chit chats!! 💙💖
no, if anything she's helping Damuel by keeping him single till Philine comes of age/close to/has enough mana/scholar skills/etc to Dunk propose to him
Ah, poor, poor Lamprecht...
During the recording she actually did curse him out XD
Shhh Noemi, shhhh!!

HA! I should have censored them out too lol 😆
Oh?? That's interesting 🤔 I wonder how they let that error get past them
@@TheChatteringMagpi hmm.. my only guess is that the editor didn't do a final check? It's either that or Suzuki sensei was so used to having Angelica and Damuel guard Rozemyne in her trips that she drew them out of habbit? 🤷♀️🤷♀️
@ 1.10 you talk about the previous aub family and the uprising. I thought that was possible forshadowing that there was a gotracite in a ransack.
I swear the people of Dunklefelger are incapable of doing anything well meaning without it inconveniencing the intended recipient of said goodwill.
yep
Lestilaut wanted to get the schumils for his sister
Lestilaut wanting to save Rozemyne from her engagement (also his own love for her)
Heshitz "saving" Ferdinand from the temple and engaging him to a woman who looks and acts just like the woman who abused him daily growing up
Clarissa's invasion

Also: ow my ears. There had to have been a better bleep
Also also: I am genuinely curious how Bonifatius would react to hearing Rozemyne's true origin.
Also also also: the hee hee hoo breathing is called the Lamaze technique. It's what they teach mothers to do during childbirth. It apparently relaxes the mother and reduces the perception of pain.
hi love you resumes andd thoughs of the part 5 books, can you make 4he same on side historys of part 4 books.
Now it's Rosemine's turn to clean up on Aisle Ehrenfest.
@@darkphoenix6371dont remember where i read it, but i think karstedt was an ADC as his son, but was demoted because of veronica or smth like that.
@@firefox30570 if that is the case I could just be wrong
@@firefox30570 Karstedt was an ADC so that there could be a male heir. Georgine was raised by Veronica to rival his claim. When Sylvester was born Karstedt was demoted to archnoble, before Karstedt would have taken the ADC course
@@firefox30570 I think karstedt is ADC but was demoted by Veronica and Hirschur was his retainer. That's why she became a Sovereignty professor because she was disappointed in arducal couple at that time, which is Veronica.

@@TheChatteringMagpi of course! Volume 5 is exciting
Wilfried was a bit insufferable in this volume. In the read along, I remember you stopping midsentence yourself just to scold him😂
Well, he is going trough hard times and his attendants behaving the Veronica way don’t help.
7:56 I am famous now 😂😂
❤ Love it! Thanks for joining me during the read alongs! ❤
If selvester would never get her to the tower to turn into a battery. Because its already hinted that her grandfather would kill them
Hahaha. He'd yeet Sylvester straight into the sun.
It has to be Brunhilde because she is THE Brunhilde!
Every time you mention a German-esque name I have to take a moment to appreciate how your completely butchered pronunciation is different from my completely butchered pronunciation AND original Japanese completely butchered pronunciation. German bookworms must be having a stroke
