As a novice I have watched a handful of videos in the last few days on this subject and this one was by far the most comprehensive and easy to follow. Thanks
Susan, thank you very much. Very very helpful for a nerd like me who was staring at the cleats and the shoes and having no idea on how to put them together. Tomorrow is my first spinning class with real shoes after 2 years, YAY! THANKS AGAIN
Very helpful video! I just bought my first cycling shoes and cleats. After a few videos that weren't as detailed, I found yours. You showed everything and explained everything. Thank you!
thanks for this demonstration! i especially found the part where you detailed which holes to use in the racing shoes that have several hole sets, as mine were identical and i had no idea where to put the cleats. Great job!
Very helpful!! I'm shopping for indoor cycling shoes and I didn't even know what some of the shoe=related terminology meant. This answered all my questions, showed me what to look for when shopping, and how to install the cleats. THANKS!
I just got my new cycling sandals and cleats in the mail. It's nice to find a video that shows me how to install the cleats since it is the first time I will be doing this. Thanks for a helpful video.
Awesome! Thank you for taking the time and explaining the steps. I bought different stuff for different shops and the cleats I got were universal so I was like why the heck is this not working.. but it's because it had an extra piece not needed for SPD shoes. Thank you so much! Way better than any other videos I found.
This is such a good video. As a newbie, it was accessible and really easy to follow. You need to supplement this with other videos on positioning, but this answered so many basic questions I had and allowed me to crack on with it. Thank you!
Because it lacks full information on how to properly install the cleats. No mention of side to side alignment. (regarding float & center to pedal alignment) Anyone who follows this without checking other videos or goes to shop, will likely not have a good fit/installation. This was a half-ass attempt. She phoned it in. Good intentions, but poor presentation.
Good video! going to this send to a friend that just got shoes. I usually recommend placing the cleat centered (left to right) on the shoe, and centered (front to back) under the ball of your foot. It's a good starting point, a lot of people up just leaving it there :) Yes, grease is a must! (also use lots on seat post, any bearings, bottom brackets, cranks, etc, especially where alum meets steel) good tip. grease those cleat bolts! (they are bolts not screws haha)
Good video. I bought a set Decathlon France SPD cleats for Spinning (RPM in France). No instructions for the 5 pieces. Only on watching the video did I realise I needed only 3 of the 5 pieces
Nice video...may I offer a slight suggestion? The video says to "recycle the plates" that the cleats screw into, however some shoes do not come with plates, so these will be needed. Also, I have seen the threads strip out of these plates more than once and/or rust/corrode, so sticking them in the drawer until the shoes expire might not be a bad idea. Bike shops will usually charge you for replacements! And finally, it would have been nice if you could have given some basic guidance to apparent novices about what to look/feel for in adjusting the cleats position (fore and aft and side to side) in the shoe. Telling them that "I can't do that here" is of little help. Why not? There are some basic guidelines that give a good starting point.
This was just what I needed! I would not have thought about the grease... I am still a tad puzzled about the two sets of holes. Not sure which one to pick...
Filmed 11 years ago, it looks like 2020 video quality
This girl was ahead of the curve

Agreed!
Perhaps, the easiest explanation I found on internet. Sad to see that the channel apparently is discontinued.

Thanks for this video! Had no idea how to set up my shoes until I watched this video. Now a happy newbie!
Thanks. The instruction on throwing away the extra plate, grease, and insole removal helped me learn new things while installing my cleats.

Simple and helpful. About to ride clipless for the first time
How are you finding the clipless?? I'm just looking at getting a pair and was wondering what you think? I'm on a mtb.
Loving them and I live in NY with heavy traffic. You get used to them and you develop a strategy for unclipping. Clipping in is he hardest to master
Thank you I’m new to indoor cycling...this was very helpful.
Very clear and informative video. Thank you very much for posting! Safe riding! 🙂
Very thorough and simple to understand. Thanks.

EXCELLENT VIDEO!
Thanks ! Well done !
@Keyboardbeatz Yes, as it clips on to the pedal. More power is transfer as ur ball of the foot is giving the most energy transferr.
@Keyboardbeatz Short answer - yes. You can pull up as well as push down
Excellent discussion
great video!
Thank you!
Thanks Susan!
Actual instructions begins at 6:00
LOL
It's worth noting: if you're an amateur (me) and this is your first time putting cleats on shoes (also me), watch the whole video.
