There is no need to thank me for this, since making videos is what I enjoy doing. I should only thank you for actually watching them and even tho they aren't meant to be "how to" videos, finding them helpful. So thank you mate and good luck with your own cases!

I think the human spirit here is fantastic. That you humorously post, and work through your project here is something that is genuine, that anyone can relate to, and should relate to. The courage to post as you are learning through the build, and the integrity to share the lessons you learned are excellent to see. Congratulations man, the product bass and case look pretty sweet too. Cheers.

It means a lot that you've taken notice of that. That this was a build that I really had no idea of what I was doing and that it sometimes took a toll on me when posting it. And also that you see that along with showcasing what I am doing, Im at the same time trying to entertain. Thank you so much for the kind words! And Im really glad you liked it and my darling Primadonna. Cheers!

I have a somewhat unique Brazilian classical guitar that I'm restoring. I called all of the major guitar case manufacturers here in the U.S. and Canada, looking for a case for this guitar... All of them responded that they didn't have anything that fits perfectly.
That's why I starting looking for videos to help me build one myself. I watched a bunch, including an interesting attempt at making a fiberglass case... Your end result was exactly what I was looking for but I think I'd build the top and bottom a tad thicker for more protection. I actually liked the concept of fiberglass, but the guy's end result was stinky at best!
I'm not ready for the case, so it'll be a few months before I start, but duuuuude... these were truly excellent videos, funny and not boring, and I will watch them all again when I'm ready to start my build. I love the final case. Well Done!
Can you tell me where you normally purchase those plastic strips or what they're called. I'm sure I can find them here... just need to know if there's a name for em.

Wow dude. That series was superb. If nothing else it amazes me how cheap some of these form fitting cases can be when you compare it to the amount of time and money you put into this one case. Brilliant job, and great and entertaining video, unlike mine I'm constantly told.

    • @TomChiiron
      @TomChiiron  10 лет назад

Well when bigger companies makes cases they have a lot of machines that ease the production and more importantly, they have the knowledge of how a good hard case should be made. I myself had basically no idea.. haha.
So happy you liked the case and also that you thought the videos where entertaining! It means a great deal when people think so, since making an entertaining video (no matter what the content is), is what I really enjoy doing.
Im sure you're videos are great! And if you or other people don't think so then keep making them and keep improving yourself!
Thank you so much for the kind words mate!

Dude, great job! This is excellent! Gotta say- that fabric was worth the wait. And I also think it's great that you tackle a project like this and document it and share it for everybody. I would just say- I hope that the hardware that attaches your handle is really really well attached. That brown board that you used is often known to have screws or rivets pull through the wood- especially under the weight of the full case. I know you would hate to see that happen. But it all looks amazing. You should be proud.

Hey Tom. One of my favourite 6 posts ever on RUclips! Your series is fantastic. Not only is the job well done, (you know nothing? I'm not so sure), it actually entertains without ever getting so corny it irritates. It was always fluent and the fast motion shots to see the whole build were a brilliant idea, much better than using cuts for each stage. Are you maybe a student of Drama/Performing Arts/Media? But then how would your woodworking skills be so good?
    My favourite bits:
Watching at high speed as you used the bandsaw to slice the foam which was seriously scary at times. You won't play very good bass with less than 8 fingers! Next vid could be "Make yourself a cool set of Tony Iommi finger tips".
Seeing your T-shirts change and your hair go up and down during the filming!!! (A smear of wood glue would be more permanent than styling wax).
Oh, by the way, the case is actually awesome too. Now I suppose, like all Scandinavians, you're off to engage in some seriously awful death metal thrash crap??? (Lordi rules!!! No I don't think so. Ah that explains the bandsaw, you only need 2 fingers for that don't you?) Well, I suppose you deserve it, Rock On! Great job.

I knew pretty much nothing when I was building. Now that it is finished tho, just a slight less, haha.
Your words put a smile on my face. Not only did you think the case was good, but more heartwarming for me did you think that the series was well preformed and entertaining. This means so much, cause making videos is what I really enjoy doing, no matter what they are about.
Actually no, haha. I enjoy most generes of music, tho metal and it's surroundings doesn't really catch my ears.
Really fun to hear all the bits you liked mate! And thank you so much for all these kind words!

Having a bit of a hard time understanding the 2:00 thing.. If you are referring to the last cut at 2:02 then no, everything was filmed at once. But sometimes I have to hit the record button again and that may have moved the camera a little bit. It warms my heart to hear that people appreciate the video making itself. Cause tho instruments is one thing I wanna do here, video making that some times has nothing to do with instruments is the other. Thank you so much for this, it means a lot!

Well.. I don't want to be the source of reason for your girlfriend to be angry with you for not watching the movie with her.. so Im kinda sorry.. haha. Serious tho, thank you so much. Not only cause you find my builds and work to be good, but cause you also found joy in them. I make these videos not only to show my work, but to try and entertain as well. My thoughts are that you shouldn't have to know a squat about instruments and still be able to watch my videos. Your kind and humble words means a lot, thank you so much for them mate! And of course the subscription you gave me!
