I love the aquascape but More negative space on the sand bed would give the tank a more clean look. So much coral on the sand bed makes it look like a frag tank IMO.
Your tank is looking amazing!!! GREAT VID!! Looking at the Versa pumps. You said that your only using one for the Auto water change. How do you get fresh water back into the tank if the one you’re using is just for waste water to make it automated? I was thinking I would need 2 for the job.
I have one down by my water bins pushing back up. I found it worked far better pushing than sucking up that 14’ or so up from the bottom floor To my sump
Because i physically dont have space for them and im waiting for my new frag tank. Trust me im itching to clear up the sandbed clutter once i get my new frag tank.
This is simply stunning. After keeping freshwater aquariums I am making my step into reef tank. I'm setting up a peninsula mini 25 and basically want a small version of yours! Any tips for a newbie would be fab?
@@ReefDudes how satisfied are you with your automated water tester (alkatronic)? I've recently ordered the GHL kh director because Im a gear junkie :) , but wondering if it actually improves the reefing as much as some claim.
Im glad your tank is doing good, qlmost 1 year in and all ive had is nightmares. From dinos to constant salinity fluctuations even with an ATO due to using an HOB overflow box among many other things. Im one more bad thing from popping up before i just quit.
Beautiful tank, love how the rock flowers are all grouped together. Would love a peninsula tank for the same reasons as you but unfortunately my house layout doesn’t work too well.
Your tank is so beautiful!!! I’m extremely impressed by how clean your tank is!!! Mine is 32 gallons (which is good sized but small compared to yours) and I’d kinda like to know how your tank is so much cleaner than mine- Also I am amazed that all the fish seem to be getting along so well!!! I’ve noticed that there aren’t any Clowns in your tank (and if there were I didn’t see them there) and if this is true, I recommend you keep the tank without them like you have it now cause Clownfish have caused a ton of drama in my tank before. I also recommend that you don’t get a Pufferfish either cause some of them can get even more aggressive than the Clowns!!! You’re lucky to have as many fish as you do without any of them trying to kill everyone else!!!
Clean in which way? Its in my living room so it has to look good! i actually do have clowns in my office tank (my origional one too from prob 7 ish years ago now) All the fish seem to get along which is good!
ReefDudes Clean as in how does your tank not have algae growing all over the place? Also are the Clowns in the tank shown in the video or in a separate tank that’s not shown in the video this comment is on? If the Clowns are getting along, I’d like to know how many you have and what types of Clowns they are. The one I had a problem with was a Black Ice Clownfish. Also thank you for reading and replying to my comment, I really appreciate it!!!
I have never really had an age issue If I get any bits I nip it before it has a chance to be an issue. My clowns are In a diff tank. I have 2 perc clowns. They are buddies :)
Tank is looking great Deven. Love the torch garden and where you have it placed. Acans are a favorite of mine as well. The rock scape on how you have it sloped is a nice touch. Any plans for more fish?
Good morning sir and everyone's too.... wows super fantastic saltwater aquarium and corrals too... I love your tank... ships your tanks too my house I love to have that.. 🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looking great! Just wondering how long you have had the blue-spot jawfish? They are a temperate water species (~72 degrees) so often don't last in higher tropical temperatures in our tanks, but some people do have success. I love that fish, and would love to keep one - so wonder what tips or parameters (temp) you might employ that would give long term viability. Beautiful and clean setup - fantastic work!
Great job. Love these videos. People don't like sharing their updates. How are you doing your water changes up to the peninsula. I'm planning my new tank now and I have about 30-40 feet of head pressure thinking of going the ghl max doser route. Let me know your thoughts and how you ended up finally doing your water changes would live to learn.
I have 2 ecotech versaa. One by the tank for old water and one by my mixing bin to pump up the new water. I’m currently doing 5000ml/day auto water change
How did you introduce the yellow tangs and purple into the system? I want to get a purple but because they are over $300 right now I was considering getting a Yellow first however I may just wait to introduce them all at one time.
The tank looks great. I am really considering a Waterbox. Only thing is I want a tank that is 30 inches front to back. I know they do custom but Idk if I want to spend that kinda money. Decisions decisions.
Hey Devon, tank is looking fantastic 6 months in! Kust wondering did you start the tank with dry rock and fresh media or did you boost it with live rock or seeded bio media from another tank?
Once you get the flow right it will take care of it self.. At one point I turned off one of the pumps for 20-30 minutes so it would more circle the tank and flush it out.. currntly since i turned the flow up a bit more i havent really seen a build up. I have both mp60s on reefcrest at 70%
What settings do you use on you xr15's? I have a 24x24x24 cube I'm setting back up. But, when I did have it set up it didn't seem like enough light because everything was stretching.
Wow Dev, tank is looking absolutely incredible! So give me your honest opinion on the new G5 pros vs G4 pros? I’ve got a ton of G4’s but also (obviously) curious about new products
Thanks Jeff! If you already have G4, you dont need to upgrade as they are still awesome.. if you had G3 i would say its worth the upgrade. G4 have more penetration for deeper tanks where g5 has more spread and more even par which is great for coverage but doesn't penetrate as deep as for blending G4+diffusers is similar to G5 no diffusers. Both amazing lights!
ReefDudes awesome, appreciate the hands on knowledge! My new tank is 40” deep, so I’ll definitely need all the lighting horsepower I can get. Side note, that Versa install is so clean, love the mounting board and the John Guest 90’s are a great touch
I like to do it once in a while. A month or two ago i did a video on a continuous sand bed cleaner i made. Ill prob do it every 3 months or so as long term preventive
Yes you are correct.. I have read that it can help corals build a thicker slime coat and it helps them encrust faster.. I'm still on the fence of how much benefit it adds but lots swear by it. That being said i'm also only dosing it at 50% the recommended dose.
@@ReefDudes interesting idea! I was worried for you at first. Cause I watch Melev and he warns about all the ammonia from flatworms dying and needing to syphon them up immediately etc. So anyway, that's an interesting concept. I will do some research on it. Thanks!

Over 100k in it by now? Amazing tank. Thanks for the update.
Well if you count the house to put the tank in they way over that :P

I’m a Freshwater planted tank person but this is gorgeous!!!
Thank you! I appreciated planted tanks as well! i used to really be into them before i got sucked into coral and reef tanks!:)
the tank is big and superb
Thanks Akshay!

What type of torches have those full long polyps? They’re so nice. I’d like to find some of those really long ones.
Not a 100% on the name. I just tend to buy colours I dont have :P

I used 100% dry rock and cycled using brightwell microbactor start xlm.
