    Presumably that's why it's a good idea to tighten the head with the head face down on the bench.
    You lessen the risk of getting the bridge stuck in your left eye (or right) when the head breaks

      steelyeyedmissileman , they normally split quite slowly from the tension band, not like an explosion.

    The drum dial is far superior to guessing.

    Does it matter how tight the tension hooks are?

    is that just a normal drum key? my recording king didnt come with one.
