At first I thought this was going to be another fake video, but this lady knows her stuff. It is great to see mechanical work like this, taking care to give the best set for camber, dropping the car to ensure proper preload before locking down the upper strut bolts. It was great work and I can't believe she did everything without touching any power tools! Way to go, glad to see this video!
I have a Honda Element 07. I loved this video , this woman explained everything she did and why. I am a woman and don't know anything about cars, but I feel I understood everything she did! Please have more videos with her.

Got an 06 E and finishing up the starter replacement. Front struts are next and this is my favorite video so far. You keep it simple, explain well and I'm glad to have a women instructor for once :) Thanks for the tips!
Anyone giving a thumbs down to this video should have their thumbs amputated this is a great video! Thank you A1 Auto for these videos....I would like to see what local parts dealer would even bother helping you change a light bulb on your vehicle.
Man I was struggling with the tie rod end removal until I saw you laying into it with the hammer and that was exactly what I needed to see! Thanks for that. 😎👍
Sue, Thanks so much for reminding us to watch out for the CV boots when removing the strut assemblies. My '92 Acura Integra was not as lucky as the Acura mechanics punctured the top of both CV boots and said nothing. Great video
Great video! One thing to note: The bolts for the ABS line and the flex hose must be replaced as the TRQ threads are different. You'll need two M6x100 bolts and two M8x100 bolts.
Thank you for this video! I just sat down after spending the afternoon doing exactly what you did in the video. It was a piece of cake, except for when the knuckle flopped down. The inside CV boot was cracked, and it pulled the joint completely apart! What a mess! Please, please, please edit your video a little bit to warn people not to do this! The knuckle must be supported with a cinder block or something! Luckily, I was already familiar with this issue because I replaced my ball joints two years ago. I have the Honda factory repair manual, and it explicitly warns not to allow the inside joint to pull apart. Thankfully I was able to fix it by pulling off what was left of the boot, and with the help of an extra jack to support the knuckle, I was able to pack it with fresh grease, wiggle the joint back together, and slide the boot back on and then secured it with a zip tie. And I've ordered one of those two-piece split replacement boots, and that will be a project for next weekend.

I'm having issues getting the bolt free from the strut @1:45 I have removed the clotter pin and bottom nut, applied lubricant, hit with the hammer numerous times but no luck of getting free. any suggestions?
Great video, thanks! What brand of electric torque wrench was Sue using at the end? Also, it appears that she cut away and replaced the tie rod end. Do u have that video?
+Tiffany Boyd Thanks for watching! We do not have the exact specs on the cotter pin, but that is something that can be sourced at your local hardware or auto part store. 1aauto.com
I have 1aauto strut assembly on all fours. After two years, it's making creaking noises. When the car is parked, as I turn my wheel the front is creaking ridiculously loud at the strut. I sprayed some liquid wrench at the front lower assembly and now it's gone. Do you have any idea what is going on?
+Tu Tran While we aren't able to diagnose issues like that, it seems there may be an issue with the tierods or steering linkages. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
+DG Thanks for checking us out! Typically it is the best to get an alignment to ensure there is no unnecessary wear on any of the suspension parts, tires, or the new strut. This does vary vehicle to vehicle but generally it is recommended.
I wonder if this can be done without a car lift? I can’t get the strut back because the lower suspension is at an angle to the strut so I can’t get the top bolt back in.
🤔I encountered the same problem that Michael Shea spoke of. I, too, loved this video . . . until this happened. PLEASE re-edit it to warn others of this potential problem. Unlike Micheal, I to not have access to the Honda repair manual, and I cannot figure out how to get this inner joint to wiggle back together. Anyone have any ideas. To quote Bruce Willis's character from Die Hard: "And I was having SUCH a good day" until this happened.
Because on the back the the strut is just hanging from the top so your not torquing the bolts with pressure from the other end of the strut attached to anything. On the front the bottom of the strut is attached to the arm so it would be like torquing those bolt and trying to lift the whole bottom of the car
+Jesús Javier Torres Matienzo our struts come with a limited lifetime warranty. Make sure to check out the Warranty & Shipping tab on the product page on our website. Thanks for checking us out!
Maybe I'm a little obsessive, but if you're going to put all the effort into installing new parts, why not take an extra 10 or 15 minutes to clean the rust off the mounting hardware?

VERY well done and so clearly presented! Thank you so much! Where was RUclips when I was High School age, I'd have done everything myself :)
Best video for struts. So glad I found this mechanic. Thank you

Really good video. Torque settings are especially nice.
Very important to support the CV axle so it doesn’t pull out of the differential. The joint may fall apart and the oil seal can be damaged.
You all are awesome! Thank you for this.
Thank you for taking the time.
Excellent walk through - thank you for this.
She make it look easy ! Great video 👍👍
Increíble mujer!
Felicitaciones por tu trabajo, conseguiré la herramienta y lo haré yo mismo.
Gracias.

Wow no impact used. U are strong!
Perfect job, this video was useful for me! Thanks
I love her! Based on this I will get the front. IS there an element video on rears?
Great video, thanks! What brand of electric torque wrench was Sue using at the end? Also, it appears that she cut away and replaced the tie rod end. Do u have that video?

I assume the alignment parts goes for front ball joints to?
I like the way Sue says, “cah” when referring to the car. Definitely New England sounding
I want to know how these ride. Is it identical?
Do you guys gals have a shop in Massachusetts
Excellent Video! What size is the cotter pin? Thanks!
+Tiffany Boyd Thanks for watching! We do not have the exact specs on the cotter pin, but that is something that can be sourced at your local hardware or auto part store. 1aauto.com
Another A +
Great video but hearing not so good reviews on the struts. What are the warranty on them
+Chris Pellicci These struts will carry a lifetime warranty on them against manufacturing defects.
That ball joint that you removed ehat is it called !!! I called every store and they can’t find anything for front upper ball joints
outer tie rod end

Once the struts are replaced is alignment needed?

end up jacking it up from the side of the car?
Just replace the front and rear but my 2007 Element sc looks higher use to be lower, is that normal? Please replay, thnks!
The SC uses a lower size struts. How’s the ride??
Sue rules!
Great Job But You Need An Impact!

11:03 How come she does that for the front struts but she didn't do that with the rear?
Good question, wish it would get answered.
Because on the back the the strut is just hanging from the top so your not torquing the bolts with pressure from the other end of the strut attached to anything. On the front the bottom of the strut is attached to the arm so it would be like torquing those bolt and trying to lift the whole bottom of the car

It’s easier to get a tie rod puller without use of the hammer.
