Yes, Irish Spring soap can be toxic, but in general, it is unlikely to hurt you. First, what does toxic mean? Generally, a toxic substance is one that could cause significant bodily harm. Soooo, just about every substance known to man could cause bodily harm including many products and substances assumed to be non-toxic and unlikely to cause any harm. Like water, for instance. Vitamins. Foods that we eat every day.
Obviously, the cabbie was being helpful, wanting to know whether you were "arriving," i.e., picking up someone, or departing, because, likely, the taxi drop-off point would be different. Nevertheless, a good set overall.
