    ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: 7 Reasons Not To Feed Your Dog Vitamins
    Do you feed your dog vitamins to help with health issues or to make sure they're getting what they need?
    With your dogs health in mind and how you can do the best for them, let’s take a practical look at whether vitamins are the best investment in your dog’s health.
    There are 7 key reasons why (synthetic) vitamins are not the best idea.
    1. You may be thinking that the vitamins your dog gets in their kibble are natural. However the vitamins you find in kibble and most supplements are of synthetic form.
    2. Synthetic vitamins are made using waste products from petroleum, coal, aluminium and sugar industries to name a few.
    3. For example, Vitamin A is made using methanol, petroleum esters, acetylene, benzene and refined fish oil or palm oils. Vitamin C uses hydrogenated sugar processed by acetone. Vitamin D uses irradiated animal fat, cow brains or solvent extraction while B12 is made using cobalt and cyanide!
    4. Vitamins are made using the cheapest industrial waste available on the market and they last much longer than their natural counterparts.
    5. Natural whole food derived vitamins and synthetic vitamins are like chalk and cheese and your dogs body has trouble recognising synthetic vitamins. Studies have concluded that most synthetic vitamins are expelled from the body as waste being unrecognized as food and treated as toxins. They can also inhibit the ability of natural sources of vitamins to function properly in the body.
    6. Synthetic vitamins are hard on your dogs liver as it has to put in overtime filtering out what it sees as toxins and the reason your dogs urine is a strong yellow color and smells of chemicals.
    7. 90% of the vitamins in dog kibble in the US are made in China and very little is inspected. China's record on pet food ingredients is a disaster and many pet food recalls have been because of contaminated pet food ingredients from China such as the melamine scandal back in 2007 that killed many thousands of dogs in the US.

    My 3 dogs died of old age last month at 15...they were border collie mix. I never gave them vitamins and only take stress B myself when under a stressful week. I used to work at a health store and knew too much about coal tar derived vitamins. My new adopted shelter dog is getting over kennel cough with fresh chicken, noodles and ginger as the only seasoning. Ginger root or tea is better than advil as an anti inflammatory. Commercial dog foods are useful when you're tired or broke (I'm 75) but otherwise cook simple foods with no seasoning...ginger being not only harmless but healthy.

    My dog suffers from epilepsy and is prescribed Epiphen, unfortunately the side effects of this is seizures. This is one reason why I don't trust vets. When my dog was diagnosed with epilepsy she had a full medical which revealed a heart murmur which is another reason not to prescribe Epiphen as it actually says on the incert advice leaflet. Not to be prescribed to animals with cardiovascular or renal health issues. We have changed vets so many times because all they believe in is big pharma rubbish. They wanted to put her on heart medication as well as the Epiphen but we refused it. She has Ubiquinol Coq10, krill oil, Taurine, D3+K2 (mk7) Iodine from sea kelp, milk thistle and CBD oil. No man made synthetic rubbish. Her diet is chucken,beef and salmon all freshly cooked and served with plain rice coated in coconut oil. We reduce the starch in the rice by keeping it in the fridge. She also has kefir protein 2 times a week. I keep a journal on her seizures. We dont trust pet food manufacturers same as we dont trust processed foods for ourselves and my wife and I are both vegetarians. We are in our sixties and our dogs mean more to us than people. Both my wife and I take regular supplements and stay away from Statins and other prescription medications. Its terrible how big pharma are allowed to manufacture medications with deliberate side effects that in some instances prove fatel. My own brother trusted his doctor who thought Beta blockers were a good swap for high blood pressure. It caused kidney failure and bladder cancer which after recieving only 6 mts to live, he chose to end his own life. It is was mentioned on his autopsy report that the failed kidneys and bladder cancer was due to long term use of Beta blockers. I suffer myself from high blood pressure but manage mine with natural remedies that work with NO side effects. Doctors & Vets are owned by big pharma in my opinion why else would they prescribe medications that they know deliberately cause harm. We no longer allow them to be vaccinated after the COVID nonsense.

    You're wrong in my dog's case? I had my dog all her life of 10 years on Shed-X dog supplement oil with vitamins, but it went up $10. and I can't afford it. So I noticed she's sleeping in.. till like 12-1:00 pm? Like she's lacking in energy! And I've just started feeding her a meat/chicken/beef alternating with rice meal cos she didn't want to eat her dog food anymore? So now she's not digesting any vitamins as before in any form. So, I'm going to start giving her a powdered nutrient additive in her homemade food, Life Extension Dog mix. 🙂🙂🙂 Let's see how she does?

      There will be vitamins and minerals in the fresh foods, so that's good. I'd go low on the carbs, (rice) dogs are better off with proteins, carbs cause allergies, so use eggs, canned sardines and some part cooked and blended veggies.
      And like Murtaza said, raw is good idea, as it allows more nutrition to be accsessed by the gut.

    I have an english bulldog, 6 years old male. I cook for him, everything is fresh made from scratch by me and I've got the quantities of the food from a nutritionist, no fleas and worms meds, no unnecessary vax ( we do the titers ). But he is having dermatitis/malassezia, the vet prescribed apoquel but I'll not giving him that because of the many bad stories, im bathing him with a specific shampoo. Carpet, bedding, floor, bowls...all nice and clean all the time. I'm wondering if the vitamins the nutritionist prescribed us are giving to him the skin problems, he has a lipoma in his thigh too...maybe is correlate...the only "packed" thing he is eating is this multivitamin powder and the fish oil too. It breaks my heart see him with the bad skin, few times he scratched himself so badly that I found drops of blood in the floor.

I started giving my dachshund b complex to supplement his liver and it’s just standard Nature Made brand from Walmart 😭 the vet said any kind is ok. I will buy natural alternatives now that you’ve recommended. I have a general mistrust for the medical industry, but they did save his life this week when they found his liver tumor. I owe them his life. I have a long journey and a lot to learn. I’ll be starting him on a raw food diet and occasional kibble recommended in your other video. What do you recommend for biting and scratching (not fleas). I believe it’s allergies

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Год назад +1

      I recommend upgrading the diet to include fresh foods.
      The allergies are bought on by carbohydrates in the diet, possible auto immune issues from vaxxing and the diet you are feeding, especially kibbles, as most have 40%+ carbs.
      Here's some help:
      If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (best) soft boiled (ok) and preferably organic, canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better but not essential.
      If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
      Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables and freeze dried greens.
      Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/UTI's/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
      If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!).
      Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble.
      By introducing fresh foods, really lowering carbs use, introducing greens, omega 3's, proteins and a better more suitable kibble, your dog will respond with healing and improved health over the next 12 weeks.
      Some must do's:
      Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination)
      If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
      Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!)
      Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
      NO white foods ie white rice, potato, pasta..
      Dandelion Root Extract: amzn.to/33KWWT6 is a great way to normalise blood sugars, liver tonic, digestive aid, antioxidant and anti inflammatory. Helps to release a stuck system producing allergies, fatty cists, skin issues etc.

      I hope you don't mind my unsolicited advice but my cat has seasonal allergies. Did food trial bc we thought it might be chicken. One year without chicken and the scabs returned. Now i am thinking there might be something in my apt, like mold. I don't used any toxic cleaners or pestides but there could be off gassing from the old wall to wall carpet, which i hate but it's not my house. Try a tisane of stinging nettles. I tbsp to a pot of water. I add this over wet food to warm it. The taste is mild and both my cat and dog enjoy it. It works if used regularly during flare ups

      Will need lots of fresh food in the diet to help heal faster, important. So halve what your feeding now and replace with eggs, canned sardines, any meats, veg and use soil based probiotics to help digestion: amzn.to/3yoURqU
      For vitamins specifically and great to add, I'd use a greens powder that has everything in, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and a ton more: amzn.to/3cOgzLu 1/2 scoop once daily in food.
      All the above will help a ton. He Needs fresh food in the diet, especially now. Oh and zero vaccines, vet drugs.. just focus on nutrition (the greatest healer).

      @DanScott1  Год назад +1

      Yes, because this is the naturally occuring B12.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Год назад +1

      @Mar It Needs fresh food in the diet and supplemented with freeze dried greens is the easiest because, there are always mutiple vitamin/mineral needs: Green Vibrance: amzn.to/3cOgzLu
      B12 is found in: Liver, heart, kidney, rabbit, chicken, turkey, pork, lamb, goat, ostrich, buffalo, egg, beef, salmon, halibut, haddock, mackerel, sardine, dairy.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Год назад +1

      @Mar It Yes, this is the way to go, most definitely.
      Give your dog Slippery Elm Bark Powder - amzn.to/3CbHXx0 on an empty stomach for some relief to the digestive system and the ibd. Just add to some plain yoghurt or something once daily for the next couple weeks while transitioning to more fresh foods. Start slow and small to ease your dog onto fresh foods a little at a time as the dog is delicate.
      Here's further advise:

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Год назад +1

      No, this sounds like diet issues and major inflammation to the gut lining. Here's my answer to another question with the same issue.
      You need to begin with a fresh food diet and stop any and all vet drugs, vaccines etc period.
      Fast the dog 24hrs, clean him out and begin slowly with bone broth first day or so and if going well begin new diet with a little raw eggs, canned sardines in water, part cooked and blended veggies and some meat proteins. Small meal to see how it goes at first as his system is very inflammed. When doing this add Slippery Elm Bark Powder - amzn.to/3CbHXx0 to to relieve the inflammed gut and stop the bloody diarrhea.
      Add a soil based probiotic to help digest the foods better and smooth out digestion: amzn.to/3yoURqU
      The kibble is ruining his system. Here's a protein based kibble that wont ruin him but still add the extra fresh foods above to a meal of 50% kibble 50% fresh foods: Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble
      Also give Colostrum (for allergies, sensitivity, intolerance & off Apoquel): amzn.to/3H79rad as it really helps here too, just a one time purchase is all that's needed.
      Do all the above and he'll come good over the next 3 months.
      Remember, zero vaxx, zero drugs and start any new food or supplement small and slow, he's sensitive!

It would have helped, however, when recommending a product that very few people have heard of -- Catalyn -- to spell it out so that we don't have to spend extra time figuring out how to find it online.
