I actually painted this at least 10+ yrs ago, yet it still has tape on it bc I haven't completed it. It was one of my 1st paintings and was so proud of myself I was afraid to move on after it dried for fear of botching it. ❤❤❤ Thank you for this great tutorial.
Great comment Patricia. I think every artist, certainly myself, can relate to being afraid to do something. The beautiful thing is that we can break through that if we want. Good luck.
@@kbboynew1 thank you so very much. 6ou are such an amazing artist and inspiration to me and I appreciate you. I hope you will put more tutorials out on RUclips. Look at all the views you have! Do you offer any workshops?
As a professional watercolor artist that is fairly tight in technique, I appreciate your videos! I am learning to loosen up and create more underpainting, and using some of your techniques. Using the stick for branches is my favorite! Thanks!
I appreciate all your creative advise and the experimental approach that you have taken. Stacks of ideas to have a go with. What a great job. Thankyou so much for sharing in such detail.
I've gone through brief phases where I stretched the paper but over all I never found it worth sticking with. True the paper does buckle but I've just learned to work with it.
Yes it is a 1" flat. The label just says 'Gold Sable Series 850'. I can't remember where I got it but I know it wasn't very expensive maybe $18 but I like it.
As far as I can tell, no definitive pronunciation has been decided upon for the word Phthalo. The original word is phthalocyanine. So your spelling, '' pthalo'' is incorrect to start with. There is an H after the P Some people say THAY-low, some THAL-o. But I have never heard anyone else say talo.
I thought this was absolutely brilliant! Thanks so much!
Thanks very much for your comment.
outstanding Experimental watercolor painting!!

micheal john Bosco You're welcome.
Oh, okay. Thought you were fancy, but I see you use what's on hand same as me.
👍👍👍
Do you pre-shrink your paper so it doesn't get all wavy? I tried to do that using masking tape to hold the paper down but it tends to come loose.
I've gone through brief phases where I stretched the paper but over all I never found it worth sticking with. True the paper does buckle but I've just learned to work with it.
Amazing creativity.
Love your comment. Thanks.
Love love love this!!!
Thanks for the thoughts.
Very brave! Why did you not use 300# with all that water? I'm curious. I love 140#, but work too wet. Thank you!
I almost always use 140 lb and I'm just comfortable with it.
Can you please tell me a little about the brush you are using? is that a 1" flat and possibly where I could find it?

awesome!
@Kumikais
It's just an old dinner plate that.
Rex
Is that a porcelain dish you're using for mixing?
This is nit-picking, but pthalo colors are pronounced talo. The pth is silent, like the h in Thomas.
