Nice kit. I never considered adding a small set of pace beads directly to my compass, I'll have to make a smaller one and try this out... Thanks for sharing.
I agree with you on a nice mix of modern and traditional gear, no need to stop using good kit just because it's not the latest thing and we're not reenactors, some modern stuff is better.
Shawn Kelly sent me your way. Glad he did. Nice video, Nice Summer kit. I just recieved my Tentsmiths 8x8 tarp a couple of days ago. Looking forward to using it. I will be watching lots more of your videos. Liked and Subscribed.
First time to the channel. Welcome Jake! Shawn (Cpl) recommended you on his drop yesterday. Looking forward to new info and skills. Thanks for sharing!
If you got it, spend it. I’ve had to put mine together on a budget so I used some free cloth belts that came with some shorts I purchased. They have two D-rings at the end to tighten them. Works like a charm but you sacrifice the aesthetics of a store bought premium leather straps that match your gear. It’s a trade off.
Excellent video. Maybe get in the habit of wearing gloves when working with blades ( in reference to the blood on your spoon). A cut on the hands, or anywhere can lead to problems and make for a miserable trip. I mean no disrespect by this comment, just advising is all as I've done the same thing. Respect from the deep Ontario bush 🇨🇦💪👍
@@buckeyebushcraft not new maybe but still not traditional. Or how would you define the swiss army knife, the baco saw, the grayl filter? Or the titanium pots? The title may be misunderstanding, even if you use some items made of leather or canvas
Good stuff brother, keep it up. 👊
Appreciate it brother!💪🏻👊🏻
Nice kit. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Greetings from UK 🇬🇧
Nice kit! Concise and well organized. 👍😉
Awesome mix of traditional and modern! Love my pathfinder gear. Keep up the good work!
Appreciate the support!

Thanks for the insight
Loved this kit!
Great video, I do the same thing, I like traditional vs lighter weight for summer. But sometimes I mix a little of both . Alan R.
It’s the way to go for sure
I just subscribed today. Keep doin ur thing bro. I'm glad I found ur channel. Heck of a good job!
Thanks man!
Enjoyed this video tremendously!
Appreciate it man!
Seems like a perfect kit. So your carrying all of your containers inside the pack and not the Haversack?
Great video, who made the belt knife??
Is there a maker? Model? Thanks.

Awesome Jake, where did you get your magnifying lens case?
I think I got it from EBay, just search up “brass magnification lens case” and I’m sure you’ll find it. Thanks for the feedback!
Buen video!!!
Soy nuevo en tu canal me gustó mucho.
Deberías hacer un video de botas militares.

Conoces canales de supervivencia en Mexico? Saludos de California 🇺🇸 🇲🇽
I carry the exact same setup - my contents are different but I use the scout pack and haversack. Very nice setup!!!!
Can’t beat em
Nice kit
Nice presented! Nice bush pot, which one is it? Greetings from Sweden!
It’s the Pathfinder bush pot
I carry both braided & twisted bankline. The twisted readily breaks down for repair fiber.
Great kit
Does the pack have a way for you to connect the bedroll or is that more of a custom modification?
Did I miss an IFAK? What about Water Filtration?
The water filter was in the video, I only carry an IFAK when I have a firearm on me.
Understand! Thanks!
Great vid 👌 glad I stumbled on your channel keep up the good work
Great vid what magnifier lens and case is that
I like it.
Hey Jake do you like the coalcracker wool blanket is it warm enough im thinking of getting one what's your opinion thanks
It’s a good wool blanket, but it’s lightweight and thin. Definitely wouldn’t be my first choice for a winter blanket but it will definitely work.
@@buckeyebushcraft THANKS Jake
I wouldn’t have shown that 🩸spoon “ Jesus. “ 😂😂😂
Can you recommend a pack for a beginner
The eastern woodlands of Ohio are rich in bushcrafting resources. I live in Florida and we don’t have the same trees to work with.
Same here in the Mojave
Same in the PNW
Yeah we have pines and scrub oaks not to mention rattle snake palms
Who makes the cup that goes with the titanium bottle?
Both are from Self Reliance Outfitters
It’s a great bottle set, super durable. I still have the one Jake bought me for my birthday when we were little kids lol.
I have a Boundless Voyage 1050mL Ti bottle that looks identical. I wonder if the PFS cup wold nest perfectly on mine..
@@modernhereticnw it’s worth a try, I like how big the handles are on the PF cup.
Nice setup it's perfect. Thanks for sharing brother
How to you attach the blanket to that backpack? Thanks.
Is the tarp from tentsmiths or from dan wowak?
Tentsmiths
May I ask what you’re using to keep the blanket attached to the backpack
2 “D” Rings and leather bedroll straps.

Hey what brand is the oil skin tarp?
Blood adds character.
Corporal Corner sent me here sir
👍🏻👍🏻
Where did you get the knife?
It was made by a friend of mine.
I agree with you on the lighter, modern gear in summer. Especially here in SC, the hottest state in the nation. Lol. Good stuff.
Pretty sure you can change the name of your channel. I suggest "Jake Trent - Buckeye Bushcraft"
Nice kit, I wouldn't call it traditional, but a good kit.
That knife looks just like Dave Canterbury's $3 yardsale butcher.
It’s a replica that he made
@@buckeyebushcraftjeff white trekker? Did you change the grind from convex to scandi
I like it. Everything you need but not bulky. Cool pup photo bombed you. 👍🇺🇸🥇

That I'd not burlap. It us cotton.

No entiendo nada que lastima
people can tell you its made of blood and sweat and cant proof it , just show them your spoon , lol
You need start making the video when using that tools, make it legit 👍
Verizon is a bad company with poor sign if you get any at all
waiting to see "traditional bushcraft kit" and first shot is all just new coalcrakcer and pathfinder store gear lmao
None of the gear in this video is new, so idk where you got that from
