The best part of this compilation is that they didnt forget Gallaraga. Very classy move to never forget his perfect game. It will also never be too late for the commisioner to retroactively amend the final box score for both Gallaraga's and Jim Joyce's sake.
+Jarrod Thuman I'm no Bud Selig fan by no means. I'm not even saying his decision in this instance was right, but he may have been thinking about the broader picture of what precedent it would set for the Commissioner to overturn a judgment call. Again, I'm not saying he did the right thing or I agree with his decision. I think he's probably the worst commissioner ever. Only Bowie Kuhn rivals him in that department. All I'm saying is that the issue isn't necessarily an easy one or cut-and-dry.
Well, the Gallaraga thing is what's gonna give him the dreaded copyright strike, hence the "suggested by MLB Advanced Media" banner on the top right of your screen, and P.S. The Big Unit Randy Johnson is a lot better.
Thanks for adding Galaraggas. He should be listed for the way he respected the umpires bad call. This truly proves the type of person he is as well as his awesome (even if officially unrecognized) accomplishment.
Mr Walkers Biology Class Channel that was good as a Yankees fan. Even the umpire cried when Galaragga gave him the lineup card next game and you can tell the umpire was sad too
Isn’t this why they brought the manager’s challenge? So i guess he made history, even its in the worst way possible. They should name it the Gallaraga Challenge.
i cant tell you how much it made my day seeing Galarraga on this, i clicked on this to see the perfect games, secretly hoping you touched on Galarraga and you went even further and closed with it. Kudos
My family was out in LA visiting my grandparents, my Dad took me to the Dodgers game because they were hosting the Cubs. Sandy Koufax struck out 14 batters and pitched a perfect game. Cub's pitcher Bob Hendley had a no hitter going until the 7th and only gave up one hit that game. I have always felt very lucky to witness two historic sports events, Koufax's perfect game and something I started believing I would never see, the Cubs winning the World Series.
Pretty crazy that we're dawning on a decade since the last perfect game when there were 7 of them (including Gallaraga's) in just 3 and a half seasons between 2009 and 2012. You'll get a few no-hitters every season these days and a few guys have been a batter or two away from perfection like Joe Musgrove was in his no-no last season... but no one's managed to get all 27 guys since King Felix. Truly the rarest of rare feats in professional sports.
One of the best achievements in all sports when you think how long a baseball game is. And they're Sitting half the game, all the pitch count situations. Amazing.
Yankee fan here, thank you for not forgetting Galarrage. I was watching that game and could not contain my frustration with that horrible call. Good trivia here: Ron Hassey is the only catcher who has caught 2 perfect games. Both seen here... Len Barker's in 1981 & Dennis Martinez's in 1991. Cool stuff!
Thank you for putting Galarrara's perfect on here. He literally got robbed on one of the hardest things to do in all of sports. I honestly think they should at least recognize it. There have been 28 percent games in my book. Never remember feeling so bad for a sports player, let only a pitcher in my life.
The greatest game ever pitched was by Harvey Haddix (Pirates) on May 26, 1959 against the Milwaukee Braves. Haddix pitched 12 perfect innings and lost the game in the bottom of the 13th with a leadoff homer.
@@jeffcoronado8108 Jim Joyce did not "screw" Gallaragas. Screwing him implies intentionally doing it. Jim Joyce did not do it intentionally. He made a mistake that cost a perfect game. Es bueno recordar todas esta historia de recuerdo de béisbol el lo que hicieron los pitcher el juego perfecto desde 1982 hasta 2012 buen vídeo y que la generación lo vean
What's crazy about the Gallaraga play is that even the batter knew Jim Joyce fucked that play. Notice how the runner clutches his head afterwards. I still consider it a perfect game (as obviously the uploader does).
Who would remember Ron Hassey? Except for the fact the he is the only man to have caught 2 perfect games. Len Barker's in 81, and El Presidente's in 91. Stuff like that, is what makes baseball the greatest.
