I think in this part Rod is going to check some place, because he noticed S.M on the cameras and he wants to check whos that, and the scene with SM is when Rod meets her for the first time, she isn't talking to one of the kids, but to Rod, she doesn't want to believe that "this ugly fat creature" is her baby (because she remebers Rod when he was 4 and you know SKINNY), but then I guess Rod will somehow explain why he's chubby and stuff, and then they will work together to catch kids.
i think it's like the start of a showdown or something because clearly i don't think the kids would drive the van and even if they did they wouldn't just drift it around like how they did right lol i think rod's invention would play a big part towards the end, which is why i call it a staff for a showdown or smth, would be a crazy end
