I don't now if this will help but keep on doing what you doing as a person that is interested in the creation side of a business this is key knowledge hearing the experience of other elite business people good question from both even though ur friend isn't hear just keep doing what you doing I've stopped in the middle just to type this ...let me get back to watching 🚶♂️
I think the interview touched so many points, it was kind of hard to follow the point. My recommendation to Meri is to focus on a few points for future interviews or summarize what they answer you to make sure the audience will get the point.

I think Ethiopia should focus on infrastructure building and agriculture before going to the fancy stuff like websites, apps and bots. Technology is enabler for the whole supply chain

@@Hkim185 what I’m saying is we need to have the basic stuff like internet access, access to road, electricity, clean water, stable food supplies and etc. I like the idea of leap frogging but prior to that we need to have at least all those basic needs. It’s difficult to talk about leap frogging with the country of internet penetration 16.7%, road length 120,000Km, 8 million people living in a extreme drought every year.

Raising capital cant be a measure of a startup. Raising too much and too low both arent right. But when you raiser capital it makes the startup growth way faster. Capital raising should be cost effective and structured correctly.

It’s unfathomable for me how some of you guys are focusing on the means of communication rather than getting the information. If you had a hard time understanding him, just address it respectfully instead of discrediting him. Some of y’all are pure haters and really sad humans. The man lived abroad for over two decades, I understand how it’s difficult to speak pure Amharic as the locals. Give him a break, just get the information you need and carry on. 🙄

It is unfortunate that a lot of what he is saying will be lost in translation. I don’t think the interviewer himself understood him a 100% of the time because the guy is speaking in American English way of speaking. Most of what he is saying will be misunderstood or not be understood by a lot of people. But knowing where he came from, I can totally understand why he couldn’t speak in Amharic a 100% of the time.
My advice to Meri is, when interviewing diasporas, in the beginning of your interview, nicely remind them to speak in Amharic as much as possible so they can catch themselves when they drift off to English. As a diaspora myself, sometimes we don’t even realize it when we mix English when we speak but a reminder will get us to pay attention to how we speak.

Great content and i really appreciate not sectioning through parts one insight tho, when i think about meri's content.. they are not only tech nor leadership, but they are general so you dont only have the youth but also the adult investors who are striving to learn and wanted more informations, knowing that, your way of talking to your guests should be native amharic and also making some graphics more often maybe between the questions, camera transitions in and out's will make it more appealing

Why don't you make the whole conversation in English? I am a little bit confused here. On top of that who is this Mike? Nothing mentioned who he is his full name etc... His so called companies owned in the United States could not be confirmed. By just listening a mixture of Amharic and English utterances and proclaiming as if he has done something concrete does not make sense at all. I barely listened the episode.I stopped after few minutes to be honest.
