Now I'm curious where your farm is, that was one of our Te Awamutu trucks and seeing it's still daylight you must be close to T.A. I'm guessing I've been there to collect you milk. I read your description, I see where you are now, no wonder he was there so quick. If it's the first farm on Bank Road then I have been there, I haven't been to the others if they are still supplying. Oh and for his truck on the 4x4, there's 4 drivers on their truck, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off. I'm on the 6x3 roster with 2 other drivers, 3 days, 3 nights, 3 days off, more hours to burn for the season. Oh and I love watching the calves run around the paddock, like kids playing.
Think we started sending milk a few days earlier this season too but sending more than last so off to a great start, i feel we calving a lot faster too but we don’t record as much as you so not sure 🤭 cows have been in way better condition and we too have had to help more cows calve nothing too hard though 😎
So you are starting again and up here our seasonal price starts to rise in July to 😁 Arla text today too say the milk price is holding at 35.13 for August.
How much does your culls go for across the groups : bobby calves , heifers and cows. Western Australia we’ve had at least $500 a head reduction on our cull cows
Do you shoot your bull calves? I'm thinking that there probably isn't a market for Jersey Beef. I really enjoy your videos, thank you for explaining why you make the choices you do.
Hi andrew great vidio do u feed all your milk cold and how many litres per calf do they get? R the or milkers just on grass and silage or r u feeding pk and maize? How many hectares do u farm?
Always great watching the babies!!! 😊 There is always one that misbehaves... 😂😂😂

I live in Taupo, and yes there is lots of snow on the mountains at the southern end of Lake Taupo, as well as on the kaimanawa ranges.

Woud u ever build one of them composting barns for the cows for the winter that are popular in NZ ??
I do like the idea of them but I've seen a slatted shed recently and i quite like the idea of them as there's no ongoing cost with wood chip
What have you done with the milk from your early calvers prior to your first collection?
Great video Andy the calves are looking well
where abouts are you in New Zealand would be keen to have a look at your farm on google maps? Bit of a long shot.
Check out the description as its on there at the bottom, try work it out from there and see if you can find it
What is that floating in the air above the shed in your closing shot ? Aliens ?
Probably an electric fence wire with a marker so it can be seen..... or buck tooth aliens coming to take Jacinda home.
As always a great video again :D Love to see the calves

They are sold and raised for beef. When he talks about "bobby calves" and the "bobby truck", those are the bull calves.
No calves are shot, its a tough market but some years I can sell them to calf rearers who raise them for service bulls
