Q:5 Had a formula.... From X litres liquid we remove Y litre liquid and added same amount of water,And that continued N times....Then [X(1-(Y/X))^N] litres
5th problem can be done in this way also 4 lit of milk was taken and 4 lit of water added.that means 4/40=1/10 part of milk was taken from mixture. so 9/10 part of milk remained.this continued for two more times. therefore we can do it as 40*(9/10)*(9/10)*(9/10)=29.16
Time 50:54 , it is said that 10.40-9.6 = 0.64 whereas it should be 0.8, and following to that, it is said that 9.6-8.8 = 0.96 whereas it should be 0.8 too.... My doubt is that when both the differences come out to be 0.8 and 0.8 how can we take their ratio? As it will come out to be 1:1. Please let me know what has to be done in sums like these where the differences come out to be equal.

it's common sense that, if the price of three mixture is 180 rs per kg, and if the two of them is below 180 then the price of the third item should be more than 180, question no 9

It is wrong. Check the video of mixture by Dear Sir channel. It is in 2 parts, check out 2nd part. The first question is exactly like this but with different numbers. And they teach much easy and smaller formula for these type of question. And by using that formula you will realise the answer of 5th question here is wrong.
Simply use : quantity of pure liquid = x(1-y/x)n units Amount of milk left after 3 operations = [40(1-4/40)3] liters = (40 x 9/10 x 9/10 x 9/10) = 29.16 liters : Here That 3👆 is n which is in the power
He is not solving it at the moment looks like copying from some other notebook. He made mistake in 146.40/15, it's actually 9.76 and not 9.6. So 10.4-9.76=0.64. that's how he got 0.64
You're welcome, Karthik. We have got some interesting videos on Logical Reasoning, Resume Writing, HR Interview and Interview Q & A on core topics as well. Do take a look. :)
Q 12 can solve in this way also Assume quant 1 is x and quant 2 is y Then x+y = 15 ----(1) 10.4*x + 8.8*y = 146.4 -----(2) solving (1) and (2) we get x=9 and y=6 which is the answer.
Another way to solve Qn(10) : (hard) consider 1 liter of all the type ; let k1 : k2 be the amount of food mixed (ratio) for k1 liter/kg type 1 food, amount of sugar k1x(sugar per liter of type1) ie. k1x2/13 similarly salt - k1x 11/13 similarly for food 2 so. Amount of sugar in k1(2/13 +11/13) +k2(5/26 +21/26) = 7/39 + 32/39 (per litre) equate sugar(left)---> sugar(right) (11/13)k1 +(21/26)k2=32/39 similarly salt(left)---> salt(rgt) k1(2/13) +k2 (5/26) = 7/39 solve for k1 and substitute in eqn and find k2 .... final ratio would be k1 : k2 ---> 13: 26 or 1: 2
Very good explanation sir (Inbetween some ignorable errors... Leave it 😊😊😊.) Now i got an idea to solve this type... To all friends: Ignore error and try to understand the concept 😊😊 lol
5th question can also be done by the formula (Initial Qty. - Qty. Withdrawn/ Final Qty.)n (40-4/40)3 = (36/40)3 or (9/10)3 = 729/1000. 40×729/1000 = 4×7.29 = 29.16 litres.
Ques. No. 4.. can be easily done with another method... Like me thrz many who may not understand by this method Ans : 45% of 80 is 36 Then, 45% = 36 1%= 36/45 75%. = 36/45*75 Which js 60 Asked .. how much need to added 60+36 = 96 Thanks for all solutions Sir..
8) (30 litres of water + amt of water to be added in litre) = 2/3(90 + amt of water to be added in litre) simply, (30+l) = 2/3(90+l) 90+3l = 180+2l l = 90 amt of water to be added in litre = 90 litres
4question? 36 lt milk, so remaining 44 lt is water. The new ratio we want is 75:25, ie water is remains same ie 25%=44. ( here we r increasing the amount of milk only, so the water amount remains same) If 25%is =to 44 lt, then 75%is = to 25%*3 ie 44*3=132. So we already have 36lt of milk, we need to add 132-36=96litre of milk.....
Wasted 2 hours of time trying to solve problem 3. Later watched the solution and found that price of water is assumed as 0 per litre.... This killed my mood of solving further problems. How could we assume it to be 0 per litre ?

For question number 5, you can solve this question by this formula also👇 Remaining quantity = Total quantity ×( 1- Replaced quantity/ Total quantity)^ n
Please correct me if I am wrong. In 8th question, shouldn't the amount of mixture i.e. 90 L should remain same and only the ratio of acid and water should change. Hence, after the inversion of ratio, it will be 30:60, so 30L water should have been added.
Yes it can be possible but when they will say that amount of mixture is fixed and 90 L only . But when in question itself they say add amount of water added to mixture we can take meaning that amount of mixture is not fixed and we are supposed to add water in the preavailable mixture itself.

For 5 th question you can use X(1-(Y/X))^n. X is the initial amount Y is the amount removed n is the number of times this process is done. This could save so much time rather than going logically. 40(1-4/40)^3 = 29.16 litres. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Another way to solve Qn(10) : (hard)
consider 1 liter of all the type ;
let k1 : k2 be the amount of food mixed (ratio)
for k1 liter/kg type 1 food, amount of sugar k1x(sugar per liter of type1)
ie. k1x2/13 similarly salt - k1x 11/13
similarly for food 2
so.
Amount of sugar in
k1(2/13 +11/13) +k2(5/26 +21/26) = 7/39 + 32/39 (per litre)
equate sugar(left)---> sugar(right)
(11/13)k1 +(21/26)k2=32/39
similarly salt(left)---> salt(rgt)
k1(2/13) +k2 (5/26) = 7/39
solve for k1 and substitute in eqn and find k2 ....
final ratio would be k1 : k2 ---> 13: 26 or 1: 2

(30 litres of water + amt of water to be added in litre) = 2/3(90 + amt of water to be added in litre)
simply,

90+3l = 180+2l
l = 90
amt of water to be added in litre = 90 litres

X is the initial amount
Y is the amount removed
n is the number of times this process is done.
This could save so much time rather than going logically.
40(1-4/40)^3 = 29.16 litres.

In question no 9
There is some mistake in the calculations
290+165+3x=1080
3x=1080-290-165
3X=625 ( not 525 as calculated in the video)
X=Rs.208.33 /kg
yeah i too found that
There. Are lot of mistake
Yes many mistakes
original amount=P*[1-(R/P)]^n
where p=initial amount
R=withdraw amount
n=number of times.
original amount=40*36*36*36/(40*40*40)=29.16
Q5) X(1-y/X)^n
= 40(1-4/40)^3
= 29.16 lts
Yeah this formula works
