I literally cried during this. She impacted so many and I'll never forget what my favorite player gave me to: belief, happiness, and someone to look forward to watching. Good luck Li Na, I love you!
Li Na is not only a good tennis player, she is a great person. She said "Happy Birthday" to her agent on her acceptance speech in 2011 French Open. That was so sweet of her.
Wow - that was so beautiful - perfect match to Li Na's sweet nature. She will be missed on court and thankfully, she will still be around promoting tennis in Asia and the world. Stay blessed in your new life Li Na ! xxxx
i miss her so much, she's my favorite all time women's player. great form, angles, technique and brain in an era where that style is so lost on the ball bashers. IMO Li, Clijsters and Radwanska were the gems of the WTA in recent years for finesse and graceful tennis.
You can see her simple but beautiful face resonates her good character. She is a true champion. History will remember as the first Asian woman in world of tennis. I cheered for her and really fascinated by her Love from Canada😍
I was there that night and I literally cried the whole way through. This is the lady that gives China the confidence, the positive image not only in the field of sports, but also on the world stage. You are the champion!
We in the U.S. will miss Li Na. Xièxiè, dòjeh, cherished player, for showing us your beautiful heart, grace, and class. Come visit us again in the States!! 🇺🇸💛🇨🇳
How exciting! Na li how can I define you? I think the best way is, you are an example. Thank you for the moments of excitement and charm on the court. You deserved everything you conquered with much struggle and sweat on your face. You still represent the value of the great champions, that yes, they must always be homeaged and remembered! Reminiscing with longing on 06/10/2017.
Though I am not very proud to be Chinese-descent because of the government and the way things are going in Hong Kong, I am definitely proud of all the things Li Na has done with her career. Late Late bloomer, winning two grand slams and always a class act. I'm the biggest fan of Kvitova and her incredible technique - and now I am totally in love with what a great person she is.
I must say there is a lot of hatred towards China and Chinese on the internet and across the media nowadays, although such hatred in the media is portrayed in a much subtle way than many of the comments that you see on the internet. One must reflect why do I think this way? Because of the information that we receive from our surroundings - but is information provided selectively so that I am made to think the way "they" want? This applies to the current HK issues and many other China-hatable issues. Didn't want to get so political but I do think it's a shame that you are rejecting your identity for dubious political reasons. I'm not here for a debate/discussion, but just want to provide you with a reminder.
0622henry LOL -- I'm not just some random person. I am highly educated and come from a very well off household. I just don't respect communism period. I'm a capitalist. I believe in free elections and democracy. There is a reason why I would never invest in a Chinese company through Shanghai. How about you stop and reflect on that?
Such an inspirational woman not only for the Asia but also for the entire world. She has shown the entire world that impossible is nothing, if u have desire and passion n of course the love for achievements. She will go down as one of the greatest and finest sports athlete ever lived. We Asian are very proud of her achievement in the field of lawn tennis. Winning two grand slam is just like icing on the cake. She is the perfect example for Asian prodigy who are aspiring to become champion. THANK U LI NA
Li Na was truly inspirational, although I was not aware of how influential her work ethics were when I got to know her 5 years ago. I have met countless of talented Asian tennis players in Australia and every one of them said Li Na was their favourite tennis player and that she inspired them to play. I heard 100 million spectators were watching the 2014 Aus open final as well. Major congrats to this legend.
Folks don't seem to understand that because of Li Na, in the next 10 years the Chinese will take over top spots in the WTA. Similar to what the Russians had a couple years ago, Li Na has inspired many Chinese families to allow their children to pursue tennis. It may even be less than 10 years but she has just opened the door.
Good bye Li Na from WTA , but it has been nice seeing around the G Slams as an icon and big fan.. you are so special for everyone !!! We all love you, Li Na.
And one year and a half later, Zhang Shuai would reach the QF of the AO after her incredible loss streak in grand slams..... I love the story of Zhang Shuai. This retirement ceremony made me cry my eyes out from the beginning till the end.
Very nice ceremony indeed. Li Na was a great player, you can't compare her with Williams or Sharapova, because she is not so powerful. WTA is not about power, it's about great techniques. They are not a men, they are women.
Wow I was crying all the way..Such a great player and woman. Being an Asian I know how much she has done for Tennis in these parts of the world. I don't know how I will feel when Federer retires. Haven't really supported anyone other than him among the men. I hope Sania Mirza will also get such an overwhelming farewell when she hangs the racquet.
I really used to enjoy the China Open, the Asian swing always doesn't click fir everyone but it always did for my favorite players, shame we most likely not be seeing it this year too.
Li Na Good Bye May You dominate our memories for ever May all. Asian Girls&women Tennis players emulate your paths of 22 years career we love you li Na
@Tung Tran "Do you see young stars from Asia after Li Na?" Trust me, there will be a ton of them. To say that Li Na isn't comparable to Serena, Venus and the Scream Machine is absolutely ludicrous. Admittedly, Serena may well be the greatest of all time, but Li Na is comparable to all of them, no question. Were there similar retirement ceremonies for Clijsters, Henin or Hingis? Well, in the case of Hingis, it wasn't really possible, as she was banned for having supposedly tested positive for cocaine, and she ultimately quit as a result of that bogus drug test (although she's back to playing first-rate doubles, which is great to see). As far as Clijsters and Henin - yes, they were great champions, that's for sure...but the difference is that Belgium doesn't have 1.3 billion people. When Serena and the maniac Shriekapova retire, no doubt they'll get their crying farewells as well.
@@zulfiqarizzuddin2932 Don't believe those numbers (by the way the female players could give those numbers themselves). As Martina Hingis always gave 1.70m in truth she is 1.68m! :P They stand side by side and I see Petra a little taller! :P
I literally cried during this. She impacted so many and I'll never forget what my favorite player gave me to: belief, happiness, and someone to look forward to watching. Good luck Li Na, I love you!
Petra is such an amazing person, love her.
Also wish you the best, Li Na
So sad but such a great player. Good luck Li Na !
Shes opening a tennis school in China soon.
Li Na is not only a good tennis player, she is a great person. She said "Happy Birthday" to her agent on her acceptance speech in 2011 French Open. That was so sweet of her.

Congratulations! Li Na for being pregnant now, you did us proud... You're the best. We love you.
the emotions shown by all show us how much respect tennis players have for each other, this is why i love tennis!

I cried all the way since the music was on. So sad even when watching this video again after one year.
I'll miss you Li Na. You are my fave & the best player forever ! Very sad you have retired
Congratulations Na for all you've done for this sport. Nice lady and class act !
i have already missed you Li Na and your smiley cute face. i couldnt take myself and cried:( all the best for rest of your life Lİ NA.

Li Na and most Chinese people belong to "communised party" instead of communist part.....

Yes absolutely! I will miss watching Li Na play
Not 1 Chinese tennis player in the top 20 but there are some really good players
And only 9 years after your comment, Zheng Qinwen is in the finals of the Australian open and top 10 ranking in the world.
I will missed her tennis game and her jokes after her matches that she won. Live in peace Li Na....>>>>>
I love how Ana hugged Li Na
It's 2019 now but I cry a lot when seeing this
Good bye Li Na from WTA , but it has been nice seeing around the G Slams as an icon and big fan.. you are so special for everyone !!! We all love you, Li Na.
Love you, Na. Thank you for all you have done and for being you.
Ana's such a sweetheart... how could anyone hate that fine, fine woman?
Bruce Lee never died, neither will you Li Na, legend dude x
Three long years without one of best and my fav players I always loved to watch in any-match-is-blockbuster showplay
How can we live tennis without Li Na? Can we descibe?
Her acceptance speech is so touching -- she just ordered lemon pressed duck for thirteen thousand people. I cried. I'm sorry, but I cried.
Such a tender speech from Petra ^^
Every time I watch this, I cry, miss you Li Na

Very nice ceremony indeed. Li Na was a great player, you can't compare her with Williams or Sharapova, because she is not so powerful. WTA is not about power, it's about great techniques. They are not a men, they are women.
Actually Li Na is quite a brutal player herself. What she lacks is self control and she is possessed of an explosive temper.
Men's tennis is more puissant but also more technically prolific than women's.
Are you kidding? Li Na had some of the most powerful groundies, and in my opinion, the best backhand in female tennis
Li Na definitely out hit both players in points of their matches, she just wasn't consistently powerful off her ground strokes.
4 years on.. I still miss her. Wo ai ni Li na ❤️
Li NA is so beautiful.....Miss her on tour.
Every champion deserves such farewell.

Its sad because we don't see many top tennis players from east Asia.
❤ Li Na ❤
Li Na is a good human being. I don't want to talk about tennis.
Great champ....
Li Na...
重新回味了下,泪牛满面啊。。
we misse you
I MISS LI NA!!!
me too😢
Very nice and sad ... :-(
嗯 WTA亚洲第一人👍
They are over stressing this ceremoney, just let her make her farewell speech. Don't flood her with too much emotional speech.
"Smile because it happened."
I just love it... when girls go emotional ! :)
gosh, if this was a retirement from the atp, it'd be full of laughter. but with women, it's a waterworks fest.
dafuq she retired in September and I just found out tonight?? she's definitely a treasure in this world
这样的情形是人看了都会哭😭
Li Na Wo Ai Ni !!!!!!!!!
amin
Li Na
what a great group of wta players! where was serena?
She was preparing for the next match
why so many tears? it wasn't a funeral for god sake. she did well as a tennis player. she is still young. she is rich. no need for sadness.
💕
李娜还没出来,还在黑灯的时候我就哭了,不造咋搞的
great chinese player,
Everyone is nice dressed except of Nadal :D I mean not that he wouldn´t look good with that, but not the right time to wear it
Wow Ana's THAT tall, huh...
Lol did you just find that out now?? XD
Petra is even taller! :D
