Great to see how your area is evolving to meet your needs!
Thank you so much Becky! I appreciate that. ❤️

Oh this makes me so happy!! Thank you for enjoying my videos. I appreciate it and I can definitely share some of the older albums when I tackle them. 🥰
Watching this while crafting 😍
Oh that makes me happy! Thank you so much! 🥰
I love that you are going to go thru old albums and decide what to do with them. If you share I’d be super curious!! It took me about 2 years to go thru my scrapbooks, plus pictures I was given, and redo it all. I ended up trashing some and starting over so everything on my shelves match now and are consistent and labeled. My own life story is now in Heidi Swapp storyline chapters and my kids are in color coded 12x12 albums, one color per kid. I also print a 10x10 annual yearbook that is digital Project Life, but only since 2020! I love the organization side of it!
Will you share your process or method of digitizing when that happens or when you decide what you will do?
I was going to photograph my old layouts and throw out the albums and surprisingly my son told me to keep the originals too. So I decided to just keep the original albums. I’m the opposite, I scrapbook to have the finished albums to look back on, hopefully when I’m super old and maybe can’t get around to make more memories more than for the creative process. Even though I enjoy making them of course. Once I run out of my stash of albums I’m really considering switching to photo books for travel and maybe at some point for a yearly album. Thanks for sharing your space!
You could also get clamps for your existing light stands so they can hook on the edge of your work surface.
I’ll definitely look into that as an option. Thank you for the suggestion. 😊
I digitized about 12 years of physical albums and had them printed as photo books. Some of the physical books are falling apart. It was A LOT of work but worth it because the digital versions take up less space. I have not decided yet what to do with the old physical albums yet. My husband won't let me throw them away so we'll see.
Hi. Thank you for sharing how you digitized your albums. I’m sure it was a ton of work, but definitely worth it. So wonderful that you were able to tackle this project. Some of my physical albums are also falling apart. It seems like the adhesive is coming undone. Also, it’s great that your husband wants you to save the albums. Thanks again for your input! 🥰
How did you digitize the physical books?
@@kimberlyl9205 It was a long process that took several years. For the physical albums that were 8.5 x 11 size, I scanned the whole page on my home scanner, resized to 8x10 in photoshop elements, lastly uploaded them to Blurb books in 8x10 size for printing a book. It was nice not to have to recreate the pages. The bulk of the work came to digitize the 12x12 albums because I did not have a way to scan that size page. I recreated every single page. Since all my family photos (going back to the late 1800's) have already been digitized, and backed-up, I had to search for the digital version the photo, download it to my laptop, and make a new digital page. It wasn't hard because I already had the journaling. It was time consuming to search for the same photo. I kept it simple by skipping any kind of embellishments. Just the photos & journal cards on the new pages. I've recreated over 30 physical albums into 5-6 Blurb softcover books. Hope that answers your question.
It's bee nice to order several copies of the softcover Blurb books for my grown children. They have a couple Blurb books of their childhood and our family, rather than lots of big heavy 12x12 albums which they already told me that the don't want them.
are you able to put doube stack L-shape shelving on the wall above your desk? it can allow for all your small decor and small storage area...vs just a little shelf you have in front of your laptop.
Oh I love that idea!! Thank you so much for the suggestion. I looked up some shelves on Amazon and love the idea. Thank you! 🥰
Getting rid of pages-not for me. Project Life style pages, also not for me. Maybe that is why I cherish each page-because I made them all myself.
Hi Cheryl. I appreciate your input and honesty. For me, I think I have realized that in the beginning of my scrapbooking days, I scrapbooked in excess, especially as a new mom. I also have thought about how important it would be to have a digital copy of all of these layouts, especially living in California. The recent fires have had me thinking about that. But I am definitely like you and that I cherish every single page that I have made and continue to find such joy in scrapbooking.❤️
