I've been waiting for this for so long! I literally had the same experience Charlie Brown was having in this special on a last week of school. I was really stressed out at the end of my freshman year of college. My mom and grandma were in town to take me home, I had tests to study for, but I also wanted to hang out with my new friends while I still could. I just watched this special to destress one afternoon. It worked like a charm, and it made me realize I had a huge crush with one of the girls from the friend group. I think that was the first time I really felt romantic love. We messaged each other a lot and met up once in the summer. I wish I could say it worked out with her, but I actually got rejected by her after a few times eating lunch with her, and then I actually had a falling out with the rest of my friends for something else that was unrelated... Good grief...

So that super catchy music is called Psychiatric Vamp? It's probably the single most memorable thing in the whole special, so satisfying to finally hear it as a clean version without dialogue. And it just keeps improving in each of its four variations.

Love the soundtrack of this 1 too. Mr. Guaraldi made the music sound so much fun to listen too. Kept it timeless. My favorite bit here is the special's theme song & especially the red baron theme.

I’ve exercised every method I could think of to determine the name of these pieces and I couldn’t figure it out. I’m almost sure that they were not composed by Beethoven because they are quite stylistically removed from his signature sound. Many of the harmonies in #16 are inconsistent and are phrased rather oddly. It almost sounds like it’s improvised. All I know is that it’s in 3/4 or 6/8 in the key of F. I went through my list of Beethoven rarities and couldn’t find anything to match this. #17 is too short to determine the full scale of the work but I’m 100% sure it is not by Beethoven. It has a sort of Ravel-ish feel to it (to me). At least it’s in the key of C.

Charlie Brown's problem wasn't that he was just a loser. It's that he didn't understand that he WAS a loser. He was under the mistaken impression that he could strive for good things and actually achieve them. As a result, he had these high expectations that were always dashed. Had he accepted the fact that he was a loser, he wouldn't have kept trying for goals he couldn't reach. He would have spared himself a life filled with continual disappointment.
