Nasty track for some nasty done footage of a nasty operation. Tip of the hat. Cool video
Great drone work !
Somehow the music doesn’t fit the scene of logging !
thank you. yes i was trying something different. but won't do that again haha
@@DanielBoonesloggingvideos 😂😂😂
Thats pretty good ground 👌
Nice footage there D.B. thanks bud!
Thanks buddy I'm glad you enjoyed it
I remember watching the Ax Men tv show ages ago and seeing the trolley spew black smoke a good few times, does the trolley have a motor inside of it or is it something else?
yes it has a small diesel motor that runs the winch
@@DanielBoonesloggingvideos So it’s a motorized winch! I’ve never seen one in person myself but I’d love to.
@Shiftymon some have a winch and some use the line from the yarder
How does a guy figure out what cable to use to build something like this? I went to a log building school where the teacher used a skyline above his log yard with a trolley and winch on it to move logs around. I want to build something similar but on a smaller scale to build my own projects with
all depends on how much weight you want to lift and move . if the log is doug fir 18" diameter 26 feet long weight is roughly 500-700 lbs then you know what kind of snatch blocks, cable and pulleys to buy. the big one is weight of the cable being used and breaking strength, factor in length, of your standing line and its weight per foot when choosing line size for its breaking strength. I hope this helps
Awesome camera work. Are they using a Madill 071 for a guyline stump?
Thanks Buddy. you got that correct real good mobile stump.
We were using it on a one road shovel fed right down the road from this unit
Using the little yarder as a guy line hold thats just awesome
Great footage great music ! America!
Thank you very much !
For someone trying to start their own Business, would you suggest a tower cite for their first time owning a business or a shovel logging cite ? Just wondering because I might try and start my own logging business when I get older. And sick video, just wish it was longer.
And I live in SW Washington
that is a bit complicated to answer. There are alot of overhead costs with a towerside that not many newcomers to the industry can handle, and 5-7 crewmembers , in as well, the money can be good for sure . groundbase logging isnt as good of a payout sometimes because you are expected to get more production but the overhead with men and equipment is not a big as witha tower. my advice would be to go and if you havent already done so start working as a choker setter on a tower side and work up through the ranks to get a rounded picture of what it takes to keep everything going. i did that back in 2004 and at the end of my logging career was running shovel processor or yarder. those years working from the ground up gave me the knowledge of what it takes to do every job and how to do it effeciently, also the confidence to strike out and start my own company. I hope this helps, thank you for watching my video and commenting, i did a longer tower drone vid awhile back you can check out that is a bit longer than this one in my drone vid playlist. cheers ~Daniel
Daniel Boone's Logging videos ok thx for the info and I’ll be sure to check that vid
Great video I like the drone camera work 👍🇦🇺
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching buddy !
Wicked video Brother 🤙
Thanks Bro hows it with you ? Still working under tha big bad madill 009
Good thanks man. Yeah buddy the 009 is still plowing up the hills. My boss is selling the old dinosaur and getting a 172 madill. It will be a real good change
Oh wow that is gonna be real nice to rig up and log with the 172 ! That is a sweet machine .
thats the first time a seen a tower used as a guyline stump. I did see Wayne stone use a o71 for a road changer for a bu 98 that was hanging about 6000'.
thats awesome. yeah ive never seen anything like this before using the tower as a guyline stump haha. use what ya got i suppose. Thanks for watching and commenting Cori.
Lol it’s funny what they come up with, I was just at a landing for a TY70 with 4 of the guy line stump were tethering machines and a D8 (yes 5, they added a 5th and did away with the 2-part guylines) lots of iron!
@@coltonlengyel7845 Unless it is engineered and approved by a mechanical engineer , eliminating the two part guyline on a tbird is a very dangerous thing to do. Adds forces to the tower that it was never designed for.
Great video Mr Boone. We're is that unit at
thanks Wade. its on claybanks in quilcene. across from penny creek quarry
Big job...how far out was that db?
I'm pretty sure its 4,000 or so ft to the log loader
Bekkavar?
you got it.
Awesome video and music!
Thank you very much!
Music sucked
It would be fun to have a scale working model of a "big yarder". Big enough to be impressive small enough to load on a utility trailer.
yes I have always thought that, and am in the middle of building a small yarder to log our property, getting closer to having it finished and have done a couple videos on the progress.
the cable splice might be life and desth if it gives
grouse gring hiking in spiked boots
wow dano she get s er done freekin awesome !!!! dig the riffs too !!!
Thanks Pa I'm glad you enjoy ! looking forward to catching up again soon.
oh its been a while since i been strung out that far, go the big tower
are you doing pretty short yarding these days Sam ?
hey ya sammy !!!
@@DanielBoonesloggingvideos last few months we been out max 300m, going northbending 150m-200m next couple weeks
@@StumpjumperVideosPA how's things there stump , all good here chap ,just had 5 weeks of lockdown
@@swn02 wow that'll be some good production ! these guys were hanging out 1,200 meters or so, used a drone to fly strawline, wide river down there haha.
For the Metalheads wondering - the song is "By The Sword" by Ethan Meixsell - ruclips.net/video/B8pHzJA4-xI/видео.html&start_radio=1
Great sound choice for this kind of work!
Looks like you need lots of parking for a big tower side.....
haha isnt that the truth.
Too many sorts, phew!
hey chuck !
Pretty good yarder, it was Greg Pulleys before Bekkevar bought it last year at RB for $42k.
yeah a good deal for sure !
Music suck
thanks for the feedback. was the music to hard or just had the wrong beat for the video ?
No kidding
@@DanielBoonesloggingvideos To hard in my opinion, but then I am old.
@@briantuor1231 yeah you are right I have come to realize that the music needs to Be a bit different for
These. Thanks for watching Brian
Music sucks!
