I saw Ella In concert with Count Basie ORCHESTRA in LONDON maybe 1976 ? The concert has remained firmly in my memory as a magical event.. I can't remember what I did last week though Noone ever scated like ELLA..BRAVO!.
Saw her live with a dinner at the San Francisco St. Francis hotel on the hill. She did jazz singing, just amazing. Goose bumps. She started slow, but then went to the dressing room, toked up a cannabis joint, still going on her way back out, and then went into a much deeper finer level and got several standing ovations. About 1964.

Amazing concert. The musicianship is spectacular all around. There's nothing more sublime than Ella and Joe playing a duet together, though.
