I've only ever bought the Yota 2's so far & haven't seen Yota 1's myself, always wondered exactly what the differences were? This is the 1st video I've personally seen explaining this & ya'll are very informative & honest, excellent video Brother & yes I shared it on my playlist.
Plus the Yota ii axles have front and rear steering horns on the C-Hubs, add another steering stabilizer, what-have-you?.. But thank you for the other info man, lots to learn since I just started in this.. Fun journey, keep'em rubber side down👍 Salute from Canada✌
I have had nothing but trouble with Yota 2 front axles. The axle shafts break very easily, but this is easily fixed by just putting in Yota 1 shafts. The main problem is the housings strip out where the swivel hub screws go in. I have had this on 3 different axles. The housings can be replaced but soon it just happens again. The problem with Yota 1 front axles is that the ring and pinion gears seem to strip more easily but this can be prevented by swapping the pinion shims so the larger one is on the inside which brings the pinion in closer to the ring gear. I use a Yota 2 rear axle, both are good and I have never had an issue with them.
I have now read numerous reports of the same problem. A few of these people have had multiple Yota2 axles strip out as well so you're not alone. Think I'll stick with my Yota1's until there is a fix for the stripping or save for something much better
+MrBonger88 FWIW, I've rock raced my Yota1's many times over the past 3 years and they've stood up to the abuse. Way more abuse than any normal scale crawler will ever see.
question ... will the diff gearing from gelande 2 axles work in the axles of the marlin crawler? i ask because i bought some gears by mistake already. I hope that it will fit...woops.Good info, keep it going ;)
i know this is an old video but i have a question what is the width without the wheels from side axle to the other side because I'm looking for a new rear axle for my WPL D12 custom bec the wpl axle i have can't handle the torque of the 550 redcat motor lol
Narrower is tough. The K44 (lesu G5) axle is just a little narrower than the yotas. RC4wd use to have a D35 axle that was a fair bit narrower, not sure if they still offer them.
Thanks for the very informative video. One question though. Do Yota axles have a gears mechanism that actually enables different spin rates for the two wheels as in a real differential?
H! Sorry mate i remmber now what i wanted to ask...to have that motor drag that works like a brake when descending...do i need channel for that too? tx...i think is all the question i had don`t worry ;)
No , you don't need an extra channel. Drag brake is just a variable setting in the esc that uses that motor to automatically slowly brake for you. Just like the function of a Jake Brake in a semi truck but a lot simpler. You will usually have the option of setting the drag brake intensity
The yota axle and the yota 2 are very different. The yota 2 and the k44 are basically the same with different housings. they have improved shafts and hubs vs the old yota 1.
They have the same width. I’ve been told the shafts are the same from yota2 to k44. The yota ones are different. I have not personally swapped shafts so I can’t guarantee it.
I just picked up my 1st Trail finder 2 today. I love watching your videos it's helpful to me because I'm new to RC4WD. Now I just need a body for it.

pretty much answered everything I needed to know. thanks

you just need to shim them
Great info. Answered all my questions
What is the yoga 1.9 then
Thanks for the vid good honest information
I like that your doing more videos
Very nice comparision!!!
Like to know.. looking at a axial scx 10ii .but I want the sr5 body a yota .where can I find it..
RC4WD.com Might have to MOD it to fit though. Goodluck.
Man on my 3rd trip out I broke my Yota 2 passenger side axle and it seems like everyone is saying the Yota 1 is a tougher setup. Pretty irritating.
Is there any small cover or protective piece for the very bottom of the differential so it doesn't get all hacked up right away ?
Not that I’ve seen. Back on my gelande2 d110 build I made my own out of sheet metal that worked pretty well
question ... will the diff gearing from gelande 2 axles work in the axles of the marlin crawler? i ask because i bought some gears by mistake already. I hope that it will fit...woops.Good info, keep it going ;)
They should be the same axles. Both come with yota2’s. I think even the same gears will work in the k44’s as well

I’m on the road right now, so I don’t have exact measurements but the yota axles are at least an inch wider that the d12. If not more
@@RCeveryday okay cool thank you
Thank you sir!
Knew the most differences already :), but great video anyway! Thumbs up!
the machine work on the inside of the Yota 2 is much better than the Yota1 as well.
I'm looking for an more narrow axle for my TF2 what works with a 4 wheel drive kit. do you have any insight in what would work best?
Narrower is tough. The K44 (lesu G5) axle is just a little narrower than the yotas. RC4wd use to have a D35 axle that was a fair bit narrower, not sure if they still offer them.
RC Everyday thanks I looked and couldn't find them, so I'm gonna go a head and cut a half inch off each side of my axles. should be fun
Dante Smith u could try losi mrc axles (1/18) but you may have to use wideners to get right width
Thanks for the very informative video. One question though. Do Yota axles have a gears mechanism that actually enables different spin rates for the two wheels as in a real differential?
As far as I know, all crawler axles are 'locked'. No limited slip options I have seen.
Thanks a lot (-:
You can indeed get diffs for all popular axles. People use them in their U4 racers in the back.
Can’t decide on whether to buy a single speed or a 2 speed
I’ve always been a fan of the single speed. But on the new cross country Rc4wd rig I am starting to like the 2 speed.
This will be my first crawler, would you recommend single or 2 speed?
Keep it simple with the single speed.
H! Sorry mate i remmber now what i wanted to ask...to have that motor drag that works like a brake when descending...do i need channel for that too? tx...i think is all the question i had don`t worry ;)
Ive never had a drag brake so Im not sure how they work honestly.
oke doke

@@RCeveryday thanks for the reply buddy
People say yota ii axles being skinnier is "more scale". Yeah no. Look at some 1985 axles. The fatter tube is definitely more scale.
