One element that was overlooked was the Egyptian use of eclipse to boost their titan. It is a substantial boost
Hell yeah 100 attack gives it a significant advantage in a fist fight with enemy titans.
Is far better use all power early... In late game all powers become useless.. and titan almost no see in pro games

Also priests Son of Osiris combo damage agins the titan, i had to use them and they did the job as well

I’ve had the misfortune of using that and against the Atlantean’s they cast traitor on it... it was a surprise for me. Luckily the AI doesn’t know what to do with a Canada bear that very well.

One big thing you forget to mention or didn't know is that siege weapons are very effective against titans
Also military ships (arrow, hammer/fire and siege) with Heroic Fleet upgrade and special greek units such as myrmidons, hetairois and gastraphetes with Beast Exterminators upgrade are very good as well (but mostly gastraphetes, siege and arrow ships for obvious reasons)...

Fire siphons melt titans
Fire giant is a BEAST against a titan, even a mid number of them can destroy a titan alone without help (the titan and the giants without another army help) its the only ranged unit with melee dmg is underrated (+ mith unit bonus dmg)
Norse have some good units like the Jarl as well (bonus vs myth)

If they make DE version I hope there will be upgrade for titan to cross water for every civ, or at least make him able to cross "shallow rivers" that normal units can't. It would give more "Titanic" feel to it.

If you use the TITANIC cheat it can cross water, so in terms of tech they can easily implement it. I hope they do that in Retold.
Maybe you have to research a special tech called OceanGate at the docks to let your Titan cross water
I think a titan should be able to scale mountains, cliffs and cross water and forests without much issue. Just straight zoom across anything in front of it. It would give the titan a much more intimidating look, as a titan should

damn imagine how epic would a titan would look while crossing a sea on island maps
The Greek Titan may be S tier because it can 1v1 every other Titan, but I would argue that the Atlantean Titan is still S tier as well, because of the sheer damage output from their ability to have hero archer infantry with massive anti-myth unit damage bonuses at their side. Their ability to regenerate hitpoints makes their utility and versatility off the charts if you micro and macro correctly, and switching them out with your army one or two times can make the difference between being one or two hits ahead of the enemy titan, giving you the victory. Which you can regenerate from.
Indeen, I used my titan to destroy enemy's building, and when the titan is around 50% HP or a little less, I quit back to the base until his regeneration preparing for the next attack

Not that strong in pro games..He like large siege unit and upgrades useless who Pick Hera??Or others for small upg for titan
kinda the worst thing to do imo, the titan is so good at wiping out buildings, and a well equipped army can take down Titans no problem
While I can understand why they don't walk in the water, I think it'd be awesome if they could just do that considering their gigantic size, and honestly, I think it would just look very cool

@@Nexotic0 it honestly gives me hope when I see people still devoted to AoM... it's as if we're getting closer and closer to a new one!
The most important factor is AoE damage. If I recall correctly, titan's attack on heroes doesn't share the same AoE that of the titan's attack on myth units.
Also, if you're curious, aom only manages three types o units in regards to terrain mobility: terrain units, water units and air units. You could make a Titan an "air" unit but then again it'll be able to cross not only rivers but also cliffs. Which is kinda unbalanced I guess
I think Egyptians would be better Titan busters than the Atlanteans, mostly because they can do it on the cheap. Just spam out priests, support with pharaohs, throw in Son of Osiris for some spice. Atlanteans need a lot of resources, including favor, to do their archer hero spam.
Good alternative for Greeks, who can't spam out heroes, are Gastrapethes. Well, if you play Hades. They get that nifty anti-myth-unit bonus from a tech and are ranged, belligerent and numerous.
They could send in chunky myth units as meat shields like scarabs or hydras while their high damaging priests and archers prick the titan to death with crush and bonus damage
Egyptian Priest spam with Nephtys's Funeral Rites upgrade just works wonders against Titans to the point an army of 25 might take down a Titan in just about a minute and a bit if protected properly.
And as Norse a combination of Hersirs and Fire Giants would probably deal with them best.
Hephaestus is almost always my first choice for Mythic Age to advance with whenever I play the Greeks. Beast Slayer provides that anti-myth unit bonus to Gastraphetes *and* Myrmidons and Hetairoi too which is neat. He also has the Forge of Olympus to cut down on the cost of all Armoury upgrades in case you were behind the curve or simply want to make the Mythic Age upgrades cheaper. I can totally get behind a Hero-Gastraphetes combo to take down Titans.
I can see 'if AoM DE is ever made' the simple Quality of Life change of allowing Titans to move through water.
That'd be terrifying and epic all the same, tbh, depends if it's a titan walking up to my shores or me doing the invading lmao
I actually prefer playing without Titans cause I get way too stressed when their HP drops. I also prefer Atlas over Hecate so I don’t like choosing the Hecate myth unit regen upgrade. Also I enjoy using multiple civilisations so all in all, I think playing without Titans makes the game more fun for me( not always though).

If the Egyptian pop their Eclipse God power their titan can technically become stronger for a while, I think it makes the Titan stronger than the Greek one

Siege is also effective against titans. And regarding the atlanteans being the best suited, well, also the norse with Ragnarok

I enjoy the regen on my titan just for the fact it helps deal with `death of a thousand cuts` sure it takes good long time to regen but still better than it just slowly dying off if you forced to use it to help defend a bunch. -mind you that is worse case, it more for offense but it happens-
Regen makes the titan basically impervious to damage from buildings, since it'll regen faster than the arrows can hurt it. Pretty handy thing to have.
Yeah, I myself prefer doing big games of 3v3v3v3 with AI just for the fun of it, and random things like getting 2 titans attacking one of my allies has happened,

I main Oranos myself, and my trick was to always get a Titan with mythic rejuvenation that's backed up with Arcus heroes with heroic renewal. Makes for a pretty nasty combo against AI, though I doubt I would be any good against any players lol.

@@anderslarsen2311 Mythic rejuvenation is an upgrade provided by Hekate that allows myth units to regenerate! It can be researched in either the temple or palace, though I can't recall which off the top of my head.

Enhijar attack boost also effects the titan very effective
Imo Norse is the best against titans. Despite Atlantis having the ability to turn any unit into a hero, which will probably be used on arcuses (or whatever they are called) to atack titans from the distance, Norse has hersirs, who are much cheaper than the total cost of producing archers and turning them into heroes, so much easier spammable
Yeah, I don't know how much this translates against human players, because I don't really play competitively, but, when playing against AI, the Norse are definitely the ones that put up a fight the most, even when it's AI against AI, the Titan usually dies or comes out with a very tiny amount of hp

Its so annoying when you're playing on an island map in the tians expansion. It often turns into a wonder victory game, because it's so difficult to invade the islands that are protected by titans.

whenever I'm Loki, Fire Giants, Hersir and the Nidhogg are an awesomely cool way to melt through a Titan's health

Yeah lol. Its exactly 2AM here. I got a presentation tmrw and I haven't even played Age of Mythology in 10 years lol.
I know I could just stop being lazy and run the tests myself, but I wanted to see some more heavyweight myth units in action. Mainly Avengers, Heka Gigantes and White Tigers. If the White Tigers can use their leap attack against a Titan, a bunch of them might just be the best unit to hit-and-run a Titan with. In my experience tanky MUs like Colossus or even Mountain Giants work as great meat-shields to keep a Titan occupied as they don't go down easily, while the rest of your army actually damages the Titan. Some other matchups I'd have liked to see are Ragnaroks and Bogsveigirs.

Although, due to their speed you can keep kiting without ever taking a hit!
The different damage spread is probably due to cliff difference. I know aoe 2 has cliff bonus but im siposing this is also the case for aom
So... If i want to do the achievements of player vs x ai AND the win by wonder victory achievement, i should go for atlatean with hetake... So that the best unit to defend the realm can heal itself
Also, from what i got:
1st Zeus titan with if you go with dionysus and hera
2nd Poseidon titan if you go with dionysus
3rd/4th either kronos or gaia if you go with hekate
5th/6th either loki or thor if you go with bragi (but this is not as good as the others)
This has absolutely no practical use, but if you wanna have a bit of a laugh, the Über-Arkantos from the last mission of the campaign can throw Titans around with his special attack. Watching a hundred-foot monster fall flat on its face is pretty entertaining.

Was hoping for a resource/impact efficiency.
Each titan can be boosted.
Greek titan can gain health and attack.
Egyptian titan can be boosted with the eclipse power.
The norse titan can move quicker.
The Atlantean titan can recover health.

If I am playing as a Chinese god I will find some tank unit or a bunch of cheaper disposable units to keep the titan stable and surround it with a lot of Fire Lance units. Having a solid compliment of them in my army always turns the tide no matter what comes my way.

have you tried Isis priest against a Titan? those are IMO the best cost effective way to counter a titan when you worship the god that boost priest damage

I remember killing a titan with some of these egypt crocos shooting sun beams. Man i had a good time as a kid playing this game.
Yep those are siege units, siege units are good at killing Titans
Even though the Titan can't hit the Nidhogg, I think the Nidhogg CAN suffer splash damage if the titan hits something nearby.
I think the guardian statue, Osiris and Uber arkantos can fight it
Osiris can take out a swarm of Titans, Gaurdian statue is a bit squishy so at most 2-3 titans.
Eggy is best vs titans, stronger buildings, easier access to heros.

I wish titans could walk through lesser units. Even if it doesn't hurt the lesser units it would be a massive upgrade, because it's just so stupid to see a giant titan getting body blocked by something small.
Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends has certain ground units gain the Trample passive to run over enemy infantry.
Or straight-up flatten infantry and builders, say tanks in CnC games or Experimental land units in both Supreme Commander games
A son of Osiris+ a lot of priests is also pretty good vs a Titan and can kill them quickly.
Another thing you forgot, while Titans can't be transported they can use the Underworld gate from Apollo making the greeks the best when it comes to Titan civs.
Wrong : Titans cannot use the Underworld gate...or maybe it used to be able doing it, but because of some update patch (or nerf, I guess), I can tell it for sure, they just absolutely can't do that at all...by any means ! No way. Period.

I think also Helios' spell can transport titans but I am not sure.
You should have seen/shown titan Vs Egyptian priests... They take it down before it can say Prostagma
I refused to update any further because of a particularly mod on steam that I play and I have no interest in multiplayer
The more I’m talking about is the steam T compilation mod.
And I really enjoy a mod I have more than 1000 hours playing it that’s how much I enjoy instead of multiplayer and I am on the 2.5 update.

That campaign-exclusive Nidhogg *is* quite strong against the Titan, though. It's just the Random Map version that's not very good against them.
If you have one god from greeks(it is heroic ages,he has the dinosaur) your titan is taking more points than another titans.
Those are Hydra myth units upon having chosen Dionysus(sy baka)
Research Bacchanalia quick as your every unit gains an extra sliver of Hit Points

You forgot the priests. They're very good in large numbers and if protected. They are cheap after all.

What about Norse with full Thor upgrades?
It just moves faster (not attack speed, only move speed)...and that's it.

@@Nexotic0 I heard something like that back then too. Norse titan's attack anination is so slightly short they win 1v1 on any titan without upgrades. Probably a myth though.

For me the best myth unit against a titan is the Chinese vermilion bird.... 5-6 of them and the titan is dead in less than a minute

Hi ive noticed that u said no one can defeat a titan alone..
What if i tell you there is a way... by using DIVINE INTERVENTION 300 times on the god power of the flaming swords. U have to use the god power one over another without letting the time lapse over in that way the damage will increase and at the end you will have a unit with a damage of 5 thousand!
